Great service, good food/drinks, ok atmosphere. I wish the space felt more like Wealthy Street. This location feels empty and cavernous.

This place has tasty treats and awesome coffee! It is in an up and coming neighborhood so the location is ideal! Don’t miss the amazing outdoor seating in the spring and summer! I knowni wont!

Hall Street Bakery is a wonderful place for breakfast, business meeting or for an afternoon pick me up. Parking is ample and seating is well thought out and generous. Their selection of breads and baked goods is extensive and are delicious and priced well. Two of my favorite items on the menu are their«Ham and Cheese Croissant» are absolutely fantastic… I usually get two(ask for them to be warmed in the oven) and pair them with a café latte. 4.25 stars from me.

Great coffee, food, service, and atmosphere! The prices are also very good. I had an egg and cheese sandwich and a cinnamon roll. Both were very fresh and just excellent quality. Would recommend for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee.

This place is dusty and dirty and overpriced. No one cleans the tables. It is in an area in Grand Rapids that no one wants to be around after dark. The prices for coffee is expensive. The coffee is not very good

They move slowly but the food is decent and location is great. Chicken salad is very good.

I really appreciate what these folks are doing for the neighborhood and what they’ve done for wealthy st. But the service here was just abysmal. Waited over 35 min for food and server never offered anything to tide us except to say«the kitchen is backed up.» But the place was less than half full. My kids almost ate their arms off.

Although I’ve had an issue both times I’ve gotten food from here, I still love it. Both times I called in my order for pick up. The first time they forgot my dessert, so I sent my husband back to get it and they made up for it with a couple extra pastries. The second time I ordered a barbecue chicken pizza and they made a buffalo chicken pizza. It tasted good so I didn’t bother to call back this time, but it was still a little annoying when I had my mind set on the other. Despite these problems I still give it four stars because the food is so darn good. The Valentine’s Day cheesecake was amazing.

I’m so excited I like this place because I live just two blocks away! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was really delicious with the bread was baked in-house! The sandwich was an okay size portion, I’m wishing I would have been able to hold off long enough to take a photo. I went in hungry and came out satisfied, not stuffed. My only complaint is that I ordered a chai latte and the barista made me a regular latte. They don’t call it a chai latte, they just list the drink as chai tea with steamed milk, I could tell she was new, so I’m sure I confused her. I didn’t say anything when I realized the mistake so it’s my fault I didn’t get exactly what I wanted. My friend got a giant cheese danish. She requested that they cut it in half, heat one half, and put the other in a to-go container, they were happy to do it for her. And the dessert, very delicious! I’m looking forward to going back!

Went to Hall Street Bakery for lunch. BBQ chicken pizza was really good! Crust was very tasty, chicken was great. In addition, the guy behind the counter who helped us out was very attentive. Overall very good.

I think this place is okay. In The summer I go up with my family to get a nice scone and a coffee and that’s the nice part. The only thing that bugs me is that most of their scones are undercooked. This morning, I went there with my family and I got this decent chocolate chip scone. Although it was very tasty, the butter was not fully cooked into the scone. I might consider this place again, but I I think I would try a different place when I’m looking for something delicious.

Food is really good but service is very slow. There was one guy at the register taking orders and a long line. Suddenly 4 or 5 people emerge from the kitchen area. Seems like one of them could have bussed one of the 5 dirty tables. I saw some customers sit outside and thought, ‘you’re on your own guys.’ Where is their management?

Hall Street Bakery has a very nicely renovated interior. We dined at this location a few times this summer. A couple of stand out items on the menu are the Greek salad, braised beef rib sandwich, the braised beef short ribs from the Bistro menu, macaroni and cheese and the #3BLT. A favorite bakery item, that appears in the case only on Thursdays, are the Townies. A crispy, cinnamon-sugary knot of flaky croissant pastry. I have yet to make it home with a few extra ones in the bag. My husband has yet to try one… Of course, that is our kept secret, right?!

Love coming in for lunch, love the décor and simplicity of the place. The veggie sandwich is my favorite. I’ll keep coming back, just wish the staff was a bit more on point. Often have to ask for silverware or for a table to be cleaned.

This rating is for lunch. Soup was cold and bland. Sandwich was nothing special. Nice people but service was at best, adequate. To sum up. Meh.

I’ve only been here once and it’s LOVELY! The behind the counter customer service is very professional and helpful. I’m so happy this neighborhood is developing from trashy to classy with the help of businesses like Wealthy St. Bakery! Only con: I didn’t see a menu board and wasn’t aware of my food/drink choices. Maybe that’s because it is still new? Heard they serve pizza and wine tho’ so I’m looking forward to trying that and more menu options when I move to this neighborhood in the fall! …hopefully the board will be up by then too ;)

Took my son for a cheese pizza and was not disappointed. Service was good and the pizza even better. It is a great addition to the neighborhood, and the patio area is very nice. For breakfast, I would recommend any of the following: Breakfast Chocolate Cookie, Yogurt Parfait, their Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, or their Danishes. The Intelligentsia coffee is first rate. Their Turkey and Provolone sandwich along with their tomato basil bisque soup are my recommendations for lunch.

We were excited to try this location, since it looks great from the outside and we knew their food would be delicious(we enjoy the Wealthy Street Bakery). So I guess we went in with expectations that were a little too high. To start off, the space looks like it still needs to be figured out. It’s a large space, but the seating arrangement is just a little odd. Not only that, but there is no large menu or anything like that so it’s hard to figure out what’s even being offered. We finally found the small printed menus and ordered a sandwich to split — The Amsterdam. We got it to go, thinking it would be quick. Not quite. We waited about a half hour for our sandwich, and it wasn’t even very busy. The place wasn’t even half full, and there were plenty of servers as well as people back in the kitchen. We left and got home, happy that they were nice enough to split the sandwich for us and even give us each a small bag of their yummy chips. The happiness was short lived, as we found they had left the meat off of our sandwich. Seriously?! We waited a half hour, and they left off arguably the most important part of the sandwich — the roast beef. All in all, I hope they get their kinks sorted out because they have the potential to be great. They just have some work to do before that’s possible!

As the sister location to the popular Wealthy Street Bakery, I was expecting big things from this bakery and on my Saturday morning stop I wasn’t disappointed. While it still appears to be getting the kinks out since opening a few weeks ago, the bakery is clearly gaining followers as evidenced by the line of people spanning from the counter to the front door. With a similar menu to Wealthy Street Bakery, I knew I wanted an Egg Soufflé, a popular, savory breakfast option. Apparently I wasn’t alone in this yearning, as they sold their last one to the person ahead of me. Also all gone was their fruit juices in the front cooler. No worries– I ordered a mammoth cream cheese danish and a coffee. With all the tables and bar stools already filled, I was worried about getting a spot to sit down. Luckily a nice couple offered us their table as they were leaving. It wasn’t until we sat down that we saw someone order what appeared to be an egg-like breakfast pizza. It looked phenomenal and I wished that they had all their signage and menus up so that I would’ve known about that while I was still in line. Given that they are so new, the bare walls and the lack of menus was understandable though. I’m looking forward to visiting in the summer when the front patio area will be open. I saw some tap handles too leading me to believe there would be beer served as well. Pizza, beer, and a great new bakery hang out less then a mile from my house– count me in!
