We head straight here from the airport every time we are in town. This place always delivers and today did not disappoint. The Butt Buster was outrageous with the brat, cheeses, pickled beans, asiago roll et al. We also had a Ruben and the Pork & Mindy sandwich. All were served with homemade chips. The root beer list contains more than 20. We had the Virgil’s.

One of my favorite places to dine at in Grand Rapids. The Electric Cheetah is one of those places that you can count on time and time again for delicious food at a great price. Every thing that comes out of the kitchen is a taste of flavor dressed in style – from the ‘not your bro bros sandwich’ to the gourmet macaroni that my girlfriend ordered has been nothing short of wonderful, visually and tastefully. Also, there are micro-brewed root beers here, and although I have not tried one do not make the same mistake and pass on it. The Electric Cheetah It is a medium sized restaurant tucked away in a neighborhood traveling East Grand Rapids with about 15 table top and is neighbors with a warm intimate coffee shop as well as a small theater commonly featuring comedians and smaller shows. The wait is an easy 15 minutes even on the weekends so it is perfect for a casual date, just make sure to split the cookies – they are humungous! The wait staff knew the menu very well and are easy going. The Electric Cheetah is a great place to dine as it is the total package and is great place to take friends who may be visiting from out of town. Skip Applebee’s for the comfort food and give the Electric Cheetah a chance, you won’t regret it.

Great food and attentive staff. This place is busy so you know it’s good. Had the Mac n cheese which was awesome. If it was all you can eat I would still be there and they would have to throw me out.

The sandwiches here are so good! I went with a few other people and tried everyones sandwich and let me tell you each of them were delicious. The mac and cheese fries are so delicious and the barbecue sauce made in house was the BEST barbecue sauce I have ever had. They have a huge selection of root beer which was really cool. Great place and will be going back.

I loved The Electric Cheetah! You can tell it is well-loved by the crowd, even on a weekday night. We started with the Chummuss, a delish wild mushroom hummus served with naan bread. It was excellent, and the portion was large. We had a table of four girls and we still had some left when our main dishes came! I was feeling less adventurous that night, so I went for the Hot Ham & Cheese and the tomato soup. And fries too. The sandwich was huge and flavorful(cheese, mustard, pretzel roll, WOW), and the fries were great. The soup wasn’t my favorite(I think I like mine saltier) but still a hearty and ample meal. Great service and portions for what you pay. I tasted my friend’s macaroni and cheese, and I knew I should have gotten that. Next time I will! It was the bomb, and I should have indulged in that for sure. Overall, great casual bites, great service, huge portions. I’d go again.

One of the best lunch places I’ve been to in a long time. On the busy street of Wealthy, the restaurant is very conspicious with its long tall glass windows compared to its brick and tattered building neighbors. The place has a very cool vibe with paintings of cheetahs lining along the walls throughout the restaurant. They have cheetahs running above the oven which I thought was pretty cool. The coolest thing though are the lighting fixtures that are composed of hundreds of office metal trash bins hanging upside down. Definitely has a cool artsy vibe going on which I like about this place. Now for the food… My first visit for lunch I had half their grilled cheese sandwich and half of the Jimmy Wah salad. Both were pretty amazing. The grilled cheese was super creamy with the goat cheese, tomatoes and grilled onions. The rosemary brown butter that coated the breads gave it an extra herby touch that made me order this grilled cheese the second time I came back. The Jimmy Wah was also good and refreshing. Made up of cabage sliced carrots and sesame seeds. The dressing was a creamy spicy peanut sauce that complimented the veggies. Only bad thing I can say about the salad is the excessive amount of dressing swimming below the veggies. Other than that, one of my favorite lunches to date. If you are a huge fan of rootbeer like I am then you’re in luck. They are pretty serious about their rootbeers. The list includes bottled and draft. I chose the most popular rootbar the slow decay from livonia. I love that there is a zombie on my bottle and it was a sweet and creamy rootbeer with what they described as a hint of wintergreen in the aftertaste. This place is seriously awesome. Whenever I’m back in town I look forward to trying out more of their stuff!

Best place for brunch in Grand Rapids! The food is amazing and not your normal brunch food. The service is fabulous especially Jesse. Our first visit was in March he was our waiter and was amazing, we had him again today and he remembered us.

Neat little place, good lunch spot. We sat at the end of the bar and got to watch them cook. I got a grilled cheese with Red pepper soup. They both were delicious! I saw bowl after bowl of Mac n Cheese go out and they looked awesome. They had a large menu of root beers but only a couple were actually on tap. Boo.

Great lunch. Nice set up. Seating at the bar, was fun watching the chefs. Try the soups. Cold local beers. You won’t be disappointed.

Electric Cheetah hosts a tasty menu complete with a craft root beer list. I came for lunch and ordered their Yahtzee! smoked turkey sandwich on gluten-free rolls with an order of russet fries and Vander Mill cider. Piled high with smoked turkey, bacon, cherry preserves, creamy goat cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion the Yahtzee was packed with flavor and very filling. The GF rolls weren’t the best, dry and crumbly as they were. Great fries though! Trendy atmosphere with good food. It’s no surprise lines continue to form on weekends year round.

Worth the wait. Whether breakfast lunch or dinner. The ham and cheese sandwich is hands down one of the best I have had. Oh and the root beer… wow. Never thought there were so many to compliment my chilled shots of Jack honey! You have not lived unless you order one of their homemade cookies!

It was a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Parking was relatively easy. Between my friends and I, we ordered the«It’s a Trap,» «My Biscuits, My Biscuits,» and«Porkins Was a Hero»(mine). Everyone loved their food and expressed nothing but praise. The waitress was kind and friendly, helping us with suggestions on the orders. The macaroni fries are definitely something to try and we’ll be back our next visit up to try more things off the menu!

Yum. I usually don’t like sandwiches, but this place has some extraordinary ones. An interesting selection of appetizers, salads that seem weird but yummy, hearty soups, fancied up sandwiches, crazy Mac and cheese, and if you like root beer, this is the place for you. They also had several beers on tap and cocktails. Oh, desserts too. The Carrot cake looked inviting. They had a 20 min wait on Saturday around 1pm. There was still a wait when we left at 2:30pm. The staff was helpful and the atmosphere was cool and tidy. Oh, skip the fries. They are not worth the up-charge.

Waiting for a table and a slow waitress can be made up for with well executed food but unfortunately after waiting for so long 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered came out cold and the one that was hot had eggs that were rubbery from being over cooked. The gravy on the side of one dish had been sitting for long enough to get the film on top that cooling gravy gets. The fried egg on the other had congealed. Overall, the place has cool décor, friendly(if a little slow) staff, decent coffee and a pretty solid Bloody Mary and the menu looked really good. We were excited for our food but they handled the brunch rush so poorly. There really isn’t an excuse for serving cold food

Great little place. The server was very kind and patient with my dietary restrictions. .a long list. The place was busy. A young crowd, pretty noisy. Don’t bring your kidz. Presentation was very nice. My friend had the My Goodness. My Guiness and said it was excellent. She took half home. I settled on the I’m not your Bro, Bro, chicken. It was very good, fries could have been fewer and crispier. We shared a slice(huge) of freaking unbelievable German Chocolate Cake! I’m not a sweets person, but what the heck, right? Fabuloso. Coffee was good, too. An extra bonus. You must check it out.

The Electric Cheetah is an awesome spot for food. My girlfriend and I tried the Electric Cheetah Macaroni and Cheese($ 12). Pretty good, but I’ve had better. We visited during a snowstorm and the building seemed really cold. I ate with my coat on, and the mac & cheese seemed to cool very quickly. Dig in when it hits the table so you get some hot bites. I really loved the«I’m Not My Brother’s Sandwich»($ 10) It’s grilled chicken, bacon, provolone, thousand island and tomatoes on grilled sourdough with asiago cheese butter. Phenomenal! It was crispy, savory, salty and cheesy. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Our server brought us a plate of dipping sauces for the fries that came with my sandwich. Really loved the garlic aioli and the triple chili one. They also have a huge list of root beer to choose from. I really enjoyed my Dang! root beer. Our server was super friendly and helpful. So much on the menu looks amazing, we’ll have to come back when we’re driving through GR.

Small parking lot in the back, had to drive around to find a parking spot on the street. It’s to be expected in an old part of town with nice character. The place has an awesome atmosphere, lots of buzz and excitement. They wait staff are really attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. When you walk in you can see a number of cooks working on dishes in a semi open kitchen concept. The Tartina small plate(appetizer) was out of this world and filling as hell. It’s a bit much for one person but great for 2. For the main dish I had the Mac and cheese and it blew me away. It had butternut squash, spinach and a bunch of other stuff that put it over the top. It was insane! Sitting back in food coma nirvana and looking up at the lineup out the door I came to the realization that I would crawl over broken glass for this place! If your a vegetarian they have a «V» next to vegetarian dishes on the menu.

I will start this review with a transcript of my conversation with the waitress: her: «have you tried our sauces?» Me: «yes». Her: «which ones would you like?» Me: «all…» Her: «sir, only two come with your meal, the others are at an additional charge» me: «I know, and worth every penny.» The sauces here are epic. Aioli heaven. My entrée tonight was also one of the tastiest meals I have eaten in west Michigan. I had the«lovely loafage» it was a meatloaf wrapped in bacon on sandwich of challah bread with cranberry, sauce, and fried onions. I had sweet potato fries as my side like I always do, and all was well with the world. Come here, never be disappointed. Also if you happen to be dining with one of those people who eats healthy., they have options for them too.

My favorite restaurant EVER, number one, to the point that I’m considering editing all of my old 5star reviews for other places & lowering them. I’m always torn between getting the same deliciousness I previously ordered or trying as many new items as possible. Fortunately, there are half sandwiches/salads/soups to mix and match. Mmm. I’m pissed that I’m not at the Electric Cheetah right now :( Be prepared for a wait. Head next door to The Meanwhile for a drink if it’s going to be a while. Once it’s your time to shine, order the meatloaf sandwich if you’re lucky enough for it to be on special. I was totally grossed out by the idea, but tried my boyfriend’s & it was out of this frickin’ world. I can’t even tell you. There are lots of bottles root beers available, try one & you’ll be surprised at just how good a root beer can be. I’m going to stop right there on the ordering advice, because it’s impossible to make a bad choice. Sometimes the service here could be better– I think they are just always so busy that it must be hard on servers. Your server will more than likely not be hanging around to chat with you. They deliver your food, nicely answer questions if you have them, and then are gone unless you need a refill or something. You won’t mind, even if you are the type that is usually looking for some extra conversation. There are tons of restaurants in GR, but this one is a must. Do you love Marie Catrib’s? I hear ya, but EC is better. Brewery Vivant is pretty nice, right? You’ll never want to eat there again. Not knocking them, but I’m in love with EC. Is that weird? (if you’re a staff member– Bring back the Singing Eggplant, please!)

During our lunch-time visit this place filled up at cheetah-like speed. It was the Monday after the 4th of July so perhaps many people were off work thus causing a large lunch crowd or maybe it is always super busy during the noon hour(with the quality of food it wouldn’t surprise me). Either way, we arrived early(11:30 am) and by the time we left every table in the restaurant was occupied. The menu featured lots of options that sounded delicious. However, in an effort to make healthier food choices I opted for the Jive Turkey Salad. I immediately had food envy when I heard my lunch companion order the Meat Mountain. With smoked brisket, lime bbq, house pickles and a fried egg, it sounded like heaven on a plate– fatty, caloric heaven but heaven nonetheless. Luckily he is all about sharing and when the food arrived cut off a piece for me to try. It was good. Okay, damn good actually. However, once I took a bite of my meal any concerns that I would spend the entire lunch wishing I had the food on the plate next to me quickly disappeared. The Jive Turkey Salad was fabulous and I enjoyed every bite. Beyond enjoying a good meal, I always appreciate a touch of quirkiness as part of my dining experience. To get your daily dose of oddity and amusement head to the bathroom where you will find the walls of the women’s bathroom«wallpapered» entirely in jigsaw puzzles of both the vintage and contemporary variety.
