Best fries around! I typically go through the drive through so that’s what I’m basing my review on. Never had a bad experience and I highly recommend the olive burger(add cheese)!

We live within a stone’s throw of Mr. Burger and man has it helped us out in a clinch! So often we want dinner for breakfast and there aren’t that many places that offer this at such a great price other than Mr. Burger. Their food is really homey, solid comfort food. They don’t go for upscale flash; they go for serious earthy mom’s of good home cooking! I love over easy eggs and it is almost impossible to get a kitchen anywhere to. make them without a partially cooked yolk and a browned crust on the bottom of eggs. I HATE brown eggs!!! There has never been an instance where I have gotten anything other than soft, fluffy, perfectly cooked over easy eggs. It allows me to rest these little pillows of happiness atop my hash browns while the yolks gently ooze out of their soft white borders and bathe the soft, creamy, crunchy-edged hash brown potatoes in a lucious yellow blanket of yummy goodness. Their ham, bacon and sausage is expertly cooked as are their fluffy pancakes! Breakfast is a dream at Mr. Burger! I also truly enjoy their burgers, too! My favorite burger is the Cheeseburger Deluxe because not only is the burger cooked perfectly and the cheese is melted as it should be, but they add this large slice of tomato on to that takes this sandwich into the burger stratosphere!!! I also love the pork tenderloin sandwich and a host of others too numerous to mention! We’d be here forever! And their fries?!? Possibly the best fries in Grand Rapids! If not the top… maybe one of the best three fries in Grand Rapids! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and they are cooked to order so they are always steaming hot! Their shakes are amazing, too! This is a throwback place to days gone by and a perfect treat for young and old! Mr. Burger is not to be missed!

Old fashion burger joint with amazing shakes. Nothing gourmet here but good old fashioned food at a good price. Keep in mind that this is fast food and a cut above the other fast food burger joints. Make sure to try the shakes!

Grand Rapids has a plethora of burger joints, so try not to compare this cafeteria-style diner with some frou-frou designer burger place. The food is greasy. The fries are crispy. The burgers are thicker and tastier than most fast food places. Also — big bonus — they serve breakfast all day! Neither the bacon or hash browns were crispy, but I feel like if I had requested it, they coulda done it. This is the type of place perfect for retirees, college kids looking for a place to study, and generally unpretentious types. The atmosphere was dated, but I overheard the kitchen staff talking about their families in a sweet way. There’s a familiar, family-like atmosphere that makes it a comfortable place to grab a bite to eat.

Got burgers that were soggy and sloppy and the bread ripped apart before I got a chance to get a bite. Only redeeming quality was its customer service.

* Polarizing experience * Delicious food * Friendly staff * No Wi-Fi * Outdated technology * Seemingly lack of investment * Lack of attention to detail * Dirty bathrooms * Disgusting styrofoam

Hey GR, Pete the owner is getting really cheaper than ever! Imagine ordering a burger with everything, and you get one with nothing! So you bring it back, and they do not include mayo, lettuce, and tomato, which you find out after you get all the way home. Then, you go to eat it anyhow, and there are BONES mixed in it!!! You call the manager on duty, and they laugh at you! We see this kind of stuff going on when someone is going out of business. Also, they did not have hash browns, or much of anything on hand. So, unless you like to eat cheap cow bones without anything on it, don’t go. By the way, it took years to get him to put napkins on the table. And, never sit there too long with coffee, or he will kick you out, unless you order more. Aside from that, BK will give you much better food with all the fixings for less than half the price that are boneless, and taste better, even napkins!

The food is good however they do have a bit of the Seinfeld Soup Nazi mentality and can be totally rude.

There is something special about this place and either you get it or you don’t. Yes, you have to wait in line for your order like you did in middle school. Yep, it sure is greasy and probably not very healthy. The majority of the customers are retirement age. But, this is why I love it. When I walk in it feels like I’m going back in time, and yet I imagine myself here when I’m in my 60’s sippin some coffee and talking about the Detroit Tigers with an old buddy of mine. How many places give you that kind of feel these days? I personally go for the Mr. Burger Double Bacon Deluxe. Oh man does that hit the spot! It is my once a month fix on pure greasy heaven. Housemade coleslaw is good too. If your a health nut or looking for a «cool» place to eat look elsewhere. But, if you like to step back in time for some old school service and food, this is your place. May you always remain the same my old friend.

A good olé’ burger and fries, like in the good olé’ days. They don’t have places like this in «fancy» towns like San Diego… You local Grand-Rapidsers should partake often in this glorious establishment, you don’t know how good you’ve got it.

Do you ever get a craving for hospital cafeteria food? Or maybe you long for the days of being a kid again visiting your great grandparents at the«old folks home» and eating lunch with them? Maybe you and I have something in common(a weird love for these types of food), and if so then you’ll enjoy your dining experience at Mr. Burger. Walk on in, grab your tray, and get in line. Obviously it isn’t too hard to figure out what they sell here(burgers), but deciding on what exact one to get can be a little tricky. They also have a few other selections, including breakfast, so you might have a bit of a challenge before you. Not to worry if deciding is difficult for you — the sun faded, hanging there since the ‘70s pictures of some of their menu items are right there on the wall next to you. If you’ve left your teeth at home, you can even just point at what you want and the guy behind the counter will get it started for you. Talk about service! Now make your way down the line… try as you might, I predict you’ll be tempted by their selection of Saran Wrapped side items including cottage cheese, sherbet, Jell-O, and even slices of pie. This section is strictly serve yourself, so slide open that fridge door and grab whatever you want. Nothing teams up with a burger better than some cottage cheese and a slice of pie afterwards. At the end of the counter, whip out that wallet and pay for your meal… your burger should be down here waiting for you already. Amazing how that works, eh? Slide it all onto your tray, turn around and face the restaurant-esque dining room that is basically a re-creation of a diner scene from ‘The Golden Girls’(R.I.P. Estelle Getty). Land your table and chow down on this better-than-McDonald’s-but-still-not-as-good-as-a-REAL-restaurant burger and soak in the fun. Unless senior citizens started reading Unilocal, chances are you’re well below the average age of those in the restaurant so if the food doesn’t bring you some comfort, at least knowing you’ve got another 20 years of life ahead of you and most of thos in here don’t might be of some sick satisfaction to you.

Cafeteria-style lunch counter with olive burgers, grilled cheese, onion rings, and those jiggly sherbert glasses of chocolate pudding… Yum. I’ll be coming here until I’m in a walker, like half the clientele.
