Terrible service! Took for ever for food. Forgot drinks. Not going back. We were a bit apprehensive at first do to the limited menu but we wanted to give it a try. Service was a long wait for everything. The salsa came out 20 minutes before the chips. The pizza as OK not great. my wife ordered a glass of wine towards the end of the meal. She never got it. But they did try to bill us for it. when I told our server we never got it, he so oh… all right. Not an apology or anything. There are a lot of great places to eat downtown. Not a fan of this one.

…stopped by for dinner and live music… more for the music as I heard food served here can be hit or miss. Wow was I pleasantly surprised! Dan, the owner, greeted me at the bar… welcomed me and immediately took my drink order followed by dinner order… smoked prime rib was very good… plate filled with fresh veggies and fingerling taters. Small but good choice of local craft beers… a really fun, casual dining experience… good place for a date night if live music is on the schedule…

Had a pre-concert dinner here a few weeks ago. As usual, food and service was great. WE sat outside and became aware of the fact that they allow pets outside. In fact, the owners dog GRACIE invites them. Pets are given a water bowl and dog treat. Don’t know of any other restaurant that does that. AND if you’re into the local music scene, this is a must venue!

Found this local joint in GR! Staff was very friendly and on task! Our food was fast. we were in and out within 30 – 40 mins I want to say. I had the smoked prime rib which was good. I would definitely try it again if they had more to the menu… yeah menu was pretty small.

While teaching at a neighboring hospital, I was referred to this excellent establishment. Very unassuming but you’ll find the food to be excellently prepared. People there are friendly and helpful. I ordered the French Dip for lunch. It was outstanding! Wait till you sink your teeth into this one. They have a tap room that I couldn’t take advantage of as I was still working but if they are as good as the food, you’ll be in great hands. Great atmosphere and totally enjoyed looking out their windows watching people walking and enjoying the day without looking over their shoulder. Thanks for a great lunch!

I lived in Grand Rapids for over 30 years, and I have eaten here many times without issues. However, I stopped by for lunch one day with my daughter, and we received horrible service. Not only this, I was overcharged for it-unbelievable! My receipt showed a different lower amount than what was shown on my banking statement.

This place is GREAT why does it have low stars? I’ve only had great food, drinks and service here and it’s a perfect place to grab dinner and drinks with friends before and after a show @ Dog Story Theater next door! Thx to Jackie our server tonight for prompt attentive service

My husband and I each had a three course dinner. Each item was beyond underwhelming. The menu sounded interesting, but none of the dishes were well executed. My nachos didn’t have the caramelized onions on them, the chips were stale, and there were three olives on them. The pickled veggie salad had zero flavor. Even the pickled veggies were bland. I ordered the brownie sundae, my brownie was microwaved and burnt. My husband enjoyed his tuna appetizer, but there was something quite wrong with his pork cordon blue. This place has interesting ideas, but they are not well done and way overpriced.

We ordered the calamari which was ok, lil on the cold side, no much flavor. Also had a seasonal cocktail which was excellent.

Went to restaurant with large group. Service was spotty. Food was average to pathetic. Several dishes came out cold(you really couldn’t tell the Mac n cheese was ice cold?). Even service charge for large group was screwed up. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped today for lunch — first trip there… and my last! Three to our table and none of us impressed with meal served. Mine was brisket was was okay, however, the potatoes(if that is what they were) were COLD, the gravy was not even warm! Very disappointed. Will not return. 3 out of 3 — not good.

Enjoyed a glass of wine on the patio with my gluten-free pizza. Service is friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant is nice. If you’re on the patio though, beware of the roaming folks that will come up to you ask for a buck or two, as is expected in any downtown area. My Chicken Pesto Pizza consisted of pulled chicken, pesto, roasted red onion, goat cheese, smoked almonds. Delicious! The server mentioned that they now have a new gluten-free crust, so it’s not as rubbery as it used to be, and the toppings don’t fall off. She said that everyone there has a tendency to order gluten-free even if they don’t have a gluten allergy. I’ll definitely come back sometime and check out the other menu items.

Wonderful atmosphere, good food, modest prices. We had a chicken– cherry wrap and a Cobb salad. Both were great. The fries were really, really good. The Apple-Cranberry crisp is a scrumptious dessert. All of that adds up to a great experience. We will be back. The service was wonderful too! Riley was the one who helped us. She has a great smile! This would be a great place for groups to come to as well. The view of Fulton Street is tremendous. They use locally grown vegetables and are committed to supporting the region. This experience has helped us understand why Grand Rapids is such a special experience.

Probably one of the worst dining experiences ever! The $ 9.00 under cooked chicken wings was the 1st of many disappointments of the evening. The second was the IPA infused poor attempt to Mac & Cheese. Pure waste of $ 18.00. Food was under cooked and COLD. Don’t bring out food TWICE and have it be COLD. Sorry that the tip to the waitress directly was the result of your dereliction of such events. Never take on a table like ours(10 People) if you can not handle or address our concerns. I will NEVER recommend such a derelict and dysfunctional restaurant such as yours. Serving under cooked chicken is BAD. Especially twice in an evening to the same person.

TESTIMONIAL for One Trick Pony Grill & Taproom — I walk in, get seated right away. «Would you like soda water with a lime today.» Yes please… had a great chicken Cobb salad and just as I’m finishing«Would you like espresso with a twist today?» Yes please. That is great service!

On a Saturday night, my boyfriend and I went there for dinner after seeing an improv show nearby. We walked in and there was a band getting ready to perform, so the hostess asked us if we wanted bar side or dining room side and we picked dining room side. Problem was, there was no dining to be had that night. We were seated and then waited 14 minutes before walking out! No server even acknowledged we were in the restaurant, even though one of them waited on a table next to us. I guess we weren’t in her section! I had heard good things about One Trick Pony, but this experience turned me off to it and I will not be going back!

My last night up North, I had dinner here with a group of my crazy family members before catching a flight back to New Orleans. Apparently it was a popular night for dining, because my cousin tried a bunch of other places before she was finally able to make reservations here. And then, oddly, it was super quiet. In any event, this is a pub-style bar/restaurant, though it’s more restaurant than bar, and I hear it’s crowded when there’s an event going on down at the arena(which is nearby). However, the night we were there, it was peaceful and not at all crowded. To the point that we found rockstar parking right out front. They have a handful of vegetarian options, which is nice, and a decent wine selection. I wouldn’t recommend the white sangria, it was super sweet and not very tasty. But the sauvignon blanc I had after that was excellent. My black bean quesadillas were excellent, even as cold leftovers at 2am, which says something. Not a place I would’ve picked, necessarily, but now that I’ve been there I’d totally go back. And next time I’m getting the trout.

This place had potential to be better, but didn’t really seem to achieve it when I visited last week. I ordered a soup and ½ sandwich for lunch. The soup was decent, but the cup was about ¼ the size of a bowl. Had I known this, I would have just ordered a whole bowl. It was a vegetable soup, and had some good flavoring. My ½ turkey sandwich was decent. But nothing really to write home about. My fiancé had some New England clam chowder that was very good. The interior is pretty cool, with some older relics handing on the walls.
