This is a great hole-in-the-wall bar. Not your typical downtown 18 year old girls in mini skirts kind of scene. An old Pizza Hut turned karaōke superstar that will keep you coming back. Drink specials are great, never a lack of made in house food items, and the bartenders know their stuff! If you’re looking for a laid back bar on the NW side of GR, Play Station is the go to. I recommend going on a Friday or Saturday night if you’re looking to capture the full karaōke experience, but they also have Trivia on Sundays and Tuesdays which is a blast. Definitely don’t pass up a chance to check out this bar!

Simple. People mind their own business. They have parking. They may or may not serve food, depending on bartender’s mood. They were not serving food tonight.

My primary experience with the Play Station has been to go for karaōke. My primary motivation for going has been that T-N-T Entertainment regularly hosts the karaōke there on Wednesdays starting at 9:30pm(in my humble opinion they’re the best karaōke outfit in Grand Rapids — in addition to doing weddings and other events they’re regular fixtures at several local bars including the Tavern on Craft and the Nitecap). For more information on TNT, visit Service: The service is usually excellent, though I’ve been there a few times when it gets really busy and the wait staff are scarce which can be problematic. Drinks: It’s a pretty typical bar with the usual domestics and a handful of imports. They tend to have decent specials during the week. Atmosphere: It’s on the smaller side, so even though the space is open it still has a cozy feel to it. It can get smokey inside and the place is usually pretty crowded by 10:30pm. One thing that has always impressed me is that the crowd(which contains a lot of regulars) is usually very friendly and welcoming to newcomers. For entertainment they have a lot of the typical things(pool tables, several TVs, keno, etc.).
