I initially was disappointed there were only four vegetarian options here (standard avocado roll, asparagus roll, a pretty basic pickled veggie roll, and a ‘futomaki’ veggie assort. roll with egg) and I was pretty underwhelmed with my order (I ordered a pickle veggie roll, an asparagus roll, and the futomaki). They were all pretty bland and can be ordered anywhere that serves sushi.
They would be wise to up their vegetable roll game. The non-​vegetarian sushis looked very ornate and interesting, it would be nice if they could get that creative with their vegetarian rolls… perhaps some fun sauces and a sweet potato tempura roll or asparagus tempura roll would be a good start. Also was a bit on the pricey side for three super basic veggie rolls at about 5 pieces each (my order was about $ 16– it would’ve really sucked if I had to pay gratuity too). Bored and will most likely get my takeout sushi elsewhere next time I’m in the mood.

Fun, fast place to get Sushi. I love the atmosphere of the downtown market and it’s nice to walk around with a friend then pull up a chair and eat some sushi. All made fresh right in front of you the staff take great care in putting together sushi that tastes great and catches your eye. Also a great option to stop in and get sushi to take home. I’ve been several times and have always had a great experience!

The fish itself was some of the freshest I’ve experienced in the US. The sashimi was packed with flavor and it melted in my mouth like butter. I appreciated that the sushi rolls were not cold but were closer to room temperature, which is the proper preparation. The spicy sauce needs some flavor development, and it would be nice if the menu offered more raw offerings, less tempura. The presentation was lovely, and the sushi is reasonably priced, especially the lunch specials. We would definitely go back when we’re in town.

Love getting lunch here! They have great lunch specials as well. And the atmosphere is so welcoming. Best spicy salmon roll I’ve ever had was here!

Pretty solid sushi if not a little pricey, but the presentation was really nice and the fish was tender. We tried a mango something roll (see the pic), some eel and tuna nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. The tuna was fall-​apart-​tender and served at the right temperature but the rice lacked flavor giving the tuna a fishier taste than I expected. The eel was nice and the spicy tuna was tasty but not very spicy. I noticed that they add Togarashi to kick-​up the spice level rather than some other type of spice or heat source but it was still a little weak on the heat. The wasabi was also really watered down and lacked punch. Service was fantastic but don’t come expecting sake here… tea and soft drinks only.

Awesome sushi and my favorite option in the Downtown Market! I love the lunch options, my go to is the sashimi and sushi combination. 9 pieces of sashimi, 5 pieces of chefs choice sushi, and a cut tuna roll for $ 14. Everything is fresh and the Dt M really has a cool vibe…
This restaurant is from the people that own fuji yama, the manager works at both places and he’s super personable and actually cares about his customers.

Muskegon, MI
I travel from Muskegon every few weeks just for their sushi. They have a great variety, and an even better lunch menu (2 rolls for $ 8, or 3 for $ 12). I’ve never had a bad roll of sushi– everything is great.
