Sweetie-licious Bake Shoppe

I dream about this place, quite literally. The Cherry Cherry Chip Cupcake is to die for. I haven’t tried anything else but I’ve had about 100 of these. My kids always love the cookies. They are a bit more adventurous. Sugar cookies seem to be a winner.

LOCATION: on Wealthy street not far from Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital. On the south side of the street. Parking along the street is free, no meters!
BUILDING: Very cute, decorated in tons of pink (like most cupcake places), they had some «vintage» type items to decorate the store, they have several other items for sale as well.
STAFF: There were a couple younger girls work this day (I came around 12:30), they were not busy, only 1 other person in the store at the time. The darker haired girl that helped me with getting my items was friendly, she smiled, quiet spoken:) The blond girl that checked me out, not so much, she didn’t smile, seemed almost like she didn’t want to be there (a smile goes a long way, just saying!).
PRICE: Are a bit steep, a cookie is $ 2.53 (they charge tax, which is weird to me!) and a regular size cupcake is $ 3.29 (again with tax charged, & that is pretty step if you ask me for a regular sized cupcake!!) When I glanced at the menu bored for the other items they sell and the price, again all overpriced.
FOOD/​TASTE: I got a Peanut butter Blossom Cookie, & 2 cupcakes (double chocolate & charismatic carrot).
Peanutbutter cooke — it was a good size, decent taste but nothing at all special, I make this at home.
Double Chocolate Cupcake — frosting is grainy, very sugary tasting, cake crumb is very dry, bland tasting, again nothing special.
Charismatic Carrot Cupcake — frosting is grainy, cake crumb is very dry, too much spice (cinnamon), texture & taste was really yucky on this one! We all spit it out and threw it away!
Overall I am disappointed in this bakery, for having such a reputation for good sweets, I have to disagree! They were blah to nasty for my family (that my kids wouldn’t even eat the items!) Not worth the money to me.
There are other local bakeries (one located just down the road on wealthy that won food network cupcake wars!) that are MUCH better!

Fabulous bake goods. Everything tastes like it just came out of your Grandma’s oven. Pies are the specialty, but everything is delicious. Limited selection of lunch items like quiche and soup, wish they had more items. Order Pies early for holidays and special occasions.
