I heard this some good things about this place so I decided I’d give it a shot. The tables were messy and the floor was dirty. The staff is not very friendly and the man who took my order was more focused on the phone than me. I noticed a dog in the kitchen… It took forever to get my food. I waited for 40 minutes! I took the food home with me and it was pretty greasy. The sesame chicken was mediocre and the rice was tasteless. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend. If I had to describe my experience with one word it would be dog shit.

I work in East GR and this is my go-to spot for a tasty, filling, budget friendly meal. An added bonus is my growing friendship with the staff. They super friendly, professional, and they make all the food fresh, every day by hand. Nothing is frozen! Great food, great people, great value!

Chinese owner that is grateful and kind. We have struggled finding good Chinese in the area… places that can’t even pull off fried rice. I’m not going to lie, we had a very basic order(because it was our first time). Pork fried rice, beef lo mein, egg roll, crab rangoons. Loved all of it, will be back to try more of the menu. New go-to for us for Chinese. If the rest of the menu is as good I will upgrade to 5 stars

Cute little casual Chinese restaurant on Wealthy St. We walked past this place several times and didn’t even notice it! Today when we ate in, we were the only ones there, but we were eating lunch at 3:30pm! Luckily for us, the $ 4.95 lunch specials go until 4pm. I had the General Tso’s chicken(lighly breaded chicken in a sweet & spicy sauce with white onion & green peppers). My husband had the orange chicken(lightly breaded chicken in a sweet orange sauce). Both came with white rice and crab rangoon. They let me substitute mine for an egg roll, no problem, since I’m allergic to crab. Both entrees weren’t bad. The sauces seemed very similar, both sweet, thick, and sticky, except that the General Tso’s was spicier and the orange chicken had a VERY prominent orange flavor. The egg roll wasn’t too bad either– it was very crunchy! All of the food came out hot! My only complaint is that some of my chicken was over cooked a bit as is was very tough to chew! The chicken was not overly breaded which is not usually the case with Chinese food. Overall, I liked Foo Yen. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant itself is not fancy– just a few tables with some plants scattered around the room. The do have take-out and delivery. I’d return to try something different!

Typically we just pick up crab cheese, because… CRABCHEEEEEESE. Today however my husband and I chose a late lunch if Chinese food. My fried rice was incredible, and came with 2 of the beloved crab rangoons! My husband chose General Tsao’s mild chicken. He loved it, and his crab cheese. I added an egg roll, and it was fab! I couldn’t believe how much we ate for only $ 10.80! Now to commence with the food coma…

This place does deliver!!! Excellent food and delivered very quickly. We ordered enough food for 5 people and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered. If you are in this Grand Rapids area, I highly recommend them.
