What a unique place! Awesome idea! The sister restaurant to the Electric Cheetah and The Old Goat. They have 160 soups they rotate. Speciality sandwiches, tacos and salads. I had pumpkin chorizo soup with a cola braised beef taco with fresh corn & chili relish, queso fresco cheese, shredded romaine, sweet lime cream & country squire. To top it off I had an Expresso root beer!

For any health conscious person, this soup shop is a great place to stop for a quick lunch. They had delicious soup options, tasty health conscious ingredients, and even gluten free options that didn’t taste like the normal staleness of gluten free products. Will for sure be returning :)

We came here for soup and we were not disappointed. We ordered tomato saffron and tomato gorgonzola soups and had the pork schclidahs. Well balanced flavors on all fronts.

This place is great! Soups change all the time and you are free to sample them to decide what you want. The space is a little small but otherwise it’s perfect. This is how you run a soup shop.

This is a great place for soup and a sandwich or ½. It is very crowded and busy, may have to share a table but it is worth it. I had the special tuna melt and the apple squash bisque. I would definitely go back. Take out is also a good option. Soup comes in 3 different sizes with homemade bread. Very good on a cold spring day.

Let me start with the Food is delicious. My reason for 3 stars is due to service options and change in salad ingredients. I was on lunch break and was craving a Popeyes salad with bacon and goat cheese. I discovered the new online ordering option but found my salad wasn’t online order-able. So I called. We don’t take phone orders. Okay. No biggy. I was told a salad takes one minute to make. Problem is when there’s a line of 5 people ahead of you. Salad winds up taking 15 minutes to get. When I got back to work I discovered no Bacon. What what. I checked menu and sure enough either it had been changed or this is a different salad all together. Disappointed I finish my salad.

Soooooooo good. I like to try all of the soups so it’s awesome that you can sample as many as you want! My favorites include the roasted red pepper(always on the menu), chicken tomatillo, and white chicken chili. However, I’m often open to ordering others! Staff is always friendly too.

Delicious variety of soups and grilled cheese to excite even the pickiest palate! The beef barley and Tomato Gorgonzola are amazing. Small dining space so be prepared to wait.

Really good. The food was fresh and well made. The employees were really friendly andd upbeat. The food came out quickly. You order at the counter and they call you when it was ready. We got the daily specials sandwich called The Unknown Slider. Which was flack steak pesto and mozzarella on bun. And mushrooms soup. With orange cream soda. Everything was great I can’t wait to go again.

Delicious soup and sandwiches in a very cozy space. Basically a step up from Zoup! And a place where it feels good to support a local business.

I eat Uncle Cheetah’s probably about once every two weeks, and I have a very modest income. I have never, in approximately 30 visits, had a bad experience. Is there any other restaurant that has that good of a track record? I don’t think so! Uncle Cheetah’s has delicious soups that the hardest part will not be finding something you like; it will be deciding which of the dozen soups you tried that you want! My habit now is to get a half grilled cheese and 12 oz. of soup with a pretzel roll. I usually bring my own water bottle because although Uncle Cheetah’s recycles, I just like to save the environment and all that. This is my favorite restaurant in town. I hope it becomes yours, too.

They have a lot of varieties of soups and sandwiches, whether you want to stick to classic flavors or try something a little different. I orderd a half General Wolfe and a broccoli cheddar soup. I did receive the wrong soup, not entirely sure which it ended up being but it tasted really good so i didn’t complain. The sandwich was delicious, an interesting combination of maple cream cheese, walnut pesto, and havarti cheese. The space is pretty small so try to avoid rush hours if you want to find a seat. Otherwise, just order something to-go!

Amazing soup, don’t know what I would do without this place. Staff is great, food is great, local business… not sure you need more than that.

I moved from Portland Oregon to Grand Rapids last year and happened upon Uncle Cheetah’s when first driving around my new city. It has since become a staple and arguably my favorite go-to restaurant in town! I love bringing home a roasted red pepper soup and blue bonnet salad to enjoy while sitting cross-legged at the coffee table and watching TV. Mmmmmm!

I am so excited we ate here for dinner today! The gluten free bread they used was so good, I didnt even know it was gluten free. The Garage Sale grilled cheese sandwich was absolutely amazing! I never knew there could be that much cheese on a sandwich! I had the tomato saffron soup along with my sandwich and it was also really good! This place is small and has limited seating, but from what I saw, it isnt that big of a deal since most orders are to go. My husband and I will be returning to this wonderful little soup and sammich shop when we come back to the area.

Tasty soups, unique sandwiches and assorted salads cover the menu board at Uncle Cheetah’s Soup Shop. «Would you like to try some soup?» the staff asks as I enter. Now that you mention it, yes I would! Whatever flavor you like served up in a tiny tasting cup. Once decided, order in the size you prefer: 12oz, 16oz, etc… Grab a half sandwich(or salad) and take a seat at their beautiful hardwood counter and watch the soups steam away in front of you while you eat. The majority of their offerings are available gluten-free and or vegan. The last time I was in I ordered their curry apple squash soup with the pig newton sandwich(thick-cut bacon, brie cheese, caramelized onions and orange-fig jam) on gluten-free bread. Think of panini pressed hamburger buns for the bread, a bit strange. At least its the closest comparison I can think of. Tasted good, same for the soup but I’ve had better textured GF bread.

1. Come here 2. Sample soup until you find your favorite 3. Eat soup with a pretzel roll …and it will have been the best decision you’ve made in a long while. I seriously come here at least once a week. They always have 12 soups every day and rotate flavors. They post their soup menu updates on Facebook every day also, which is perfect for a soup fiend like myself to stalk when their favorite variety is available. Uncle Cheetah’s staff is always extremely friendly and asks if you have questions. You’re also able to sample whichever kind of soup you’d like before ordering. They have a grilled cheese sandwich menu and a summer menu including tacos/burritos/nachos. Everything here is delicious. There are always at least 2 – 3 vegan and vegetarian options available!

If I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars I would. I am so in love with everything they have to offer. I’m from the Chicago area and spend a lot of time in Grand Rapids visiting my in-laws. What’s also great is that not all of their soups are potato based because I’m off carbs for now, crazy I know, but I’ve lost 50 pounds. This place is like a warm hug full of soup and I will be returning often. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. So, do yourself a favor and visit this place. Everyone from little kids to older folks can enjoy great soup. Update: manners are free right? This place isn’t the Soup Nazi’s place from Seinfeld, right? I just don’t get it. Seriously, the guy with the dark hair and beard had a real attitude problem. I went in one day and had a rather rude and short experience with Trevor(I believe that’s his name), wrote it off as he was was having a bad day. It happens to everyone. However, I went in a second time and again and a third and I get a lot of attitude and he acts like he’s doing me a favor by letting me purchase his soup. I was going to this place two and three times a week because of the location and quality of soup. Now. No thanks. I’m done. I’d give it one-star, but the soup is still good.

As one of my friends would say: «This is so good, i wanna punch myself in the face». This place is definitely self-face-punchable. One of my favorite types of culinary discoveries is a little hole in the wall that just blows you away with the food. This is such a place. I ordered the seafood bisque which was the best bisque I’ve tasted since regularly visiting Boston, and my wife ordered a «wimpy wellington»(I have no idea what exactly it was, but it was great). She had a sandwich that was boursin cheese and raspberry with a few other things and I had a pork slider with pickles and a cabbage and corn slaw. Everything was delicious. We also sampled numerous soups and were blown away by all of them(ginger carrot anyone?). The menu is unique, diverse, and the prices are very fair. You have choices of soup size and can even get half sandwiches which are plenty large. The inside is very small, so that can get a bit uncomfortable when the tables are full and people are milling about waiting for their food. They seem to try their best to streamline the ordering/pickup process without sacrificing food quality or their general good nature. Absolutely love it. Hope I get to punch myself in the face again soon.
