Waffle House is your typical hangover-healing food. It’s not glamorous or exotic, but it’s a hearty meal that fulfills my needs for good diner food when the craving calls. Their hash browns are some of the best I’ve had out, and their toppings are good, with my personal favorite being chili and cheese. Their prices are also amazing, especially considering you can get fresh diner food for less than a fast food breakfast with half the food. The service is good, but usually frantic due to the volume of customers.

Yep standard waffle house atmosphere. Very much a dive but I decided to sit at the bar for the first time. I am glad I did. It was getting busy and I could see the level of skill each person had was awesome. My food was excellent, so was my SO’s. I must say I have have been to many waffle houses and this one is a little better than the rest. Not sure if it is relevant but I ate here around 7:00 am

I visited Kansas about 2 weeks ago and during my week stay, my group and I went to this Waffle House since it was close by. I wasn’t aware of the culture difference from Cali to Kansas in the sense of what was the well known chain restaurants and such. I overheard shortly that Waffle House was like the Cali’s IHOP(international house of pancakes). I came in and it wasn’t packed at first. We all sat down and it felt like a southern sort of style truckstop diner feel where if felt homey. The menus were already placed in a holder ready for us to pick up and look at. There were quite a extensive list of food items. I decided to go with the Texas Bacon Patty melt with single hash browns with onion toppings(you can choose the size of the hash browns from single, double, to triple). I also got the pecan waffles. My friend got the double cheeseburger with triple hash browns with onion topping. Our food came out in a timely manner. It was a good portion. I have to say that the sandwiches/burgers were quite delicious, the patties were both juicy. The pecan waffle and hash browns were quite delicious. The batter for the waffle had to be good for it tasted quite delicious. They are known for their waffles and hash browns. I decided to order a chocolate chip waffle with triple hash browns and toppings of gravy, onions, and chili. The toppings for hash browns has a charge of $ 0.45 per first two toppings for hash browns there after is only $ 0.40. I do have to say the toppings make quite a difference. You can order nearly 7 or so different kinds of toppings for your hash browns. If end up choosing all the toppings available, they have a deal in which you can go with«the works» and it would only cost you around $ 5(instead of the individual costs). I would highly recommend the chili. The food is quite hearty/heavy but delicious. The bill came out to be close to $ 30(rounded up) for a total of my friend’s and my meal together. It is better than IHOP or even Denny’s. I would gladly choose Waffle House over any of these so called«diners» that are open late. I wish they had Waffle Houses in Cali. If I somehow come back to this part of Kansas, I’ll definitely drop by to this Waffle House. P. s. The waitresses were friendly and it is small so if it’s busy then expect a long wait for a seat. I came here around 1 a.m.

This is a classic diner-style breakfast joint. I came here with a friend, we seated ourselves near a window. I ordered the pecan waffle as it was the closest thing to a vegetarian friendly meal. I was pleasantly surprised it was loaded with pecans. They did not skimp on this at all. Coffee was good, too. They are supposed to be known for the hash browns so I may return just to check those out. Food prices are super reasonable. Our waitress was fine. My only criticism is that it could be cleaner, the floors and tables etc, but it’s still a fun step back in time.

This Waffle House is kind of old and worn-looking, but it’s been serving up the breakfast goodies longer than I’ve been alive, so I’ll give it a break. The usual assortment of characters grace this place in the wee hours — sassy waitress, good-natured fry cook, some emo-ish teens hanging out at the counter, the maybe-homeless guy nursing a cup of coffee in a booth — I guess we were playing the role of Middle-Aged Couple Out Too Late. Also, Waffle House always gets my vote over some of the other all-night joints because they have figured out how to make good non-lumpy grits in large batches. Get the hash browns smothered!
