I had an etiquette dinner here. I have to say that the place is superb. The ambiance is very elegant and high-class. The owner Tim was very nice and engaging. He taught me a lot about business dinner etiquette. My server, Scott, was great, and knew a lot about the menu. The prices are very high, but I expected that going in. I have to say that the quality of the food is worth the price. My ribeye was exquisite, and the calamari was to die for. I will definitely come here again once I can afford it.

My first time here was for Valentine’s day 2016. We absolutely love this place. Of course it was a very busy day for business, but our service was still great. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Valentine day special for 2, which was a 6 oz filet and lobster tail with your choice of side for each and then a dessert to share. The meal also came with bread and butter and a salad. The filet was so tender it melted in your mouth. The sides are a generous portion so my husband and I each ordered a different side so we could share. We had the creamed spinach and mashed potatoes which were both great. I also had the best glass of moscato I have had in my life, haha. The dessert was a red velvet cheesecake accompanied by complimentary coffee. It was the perfect night out. We will definitely be back!

I have been to other Ruth’s Chris locations but I visited the Granger location for the first time this past Monday. Happy 31st birthday to me I would like to start with says by that the service was superb. I ordered the large filet and it was cooked to perfection. With that being said I feel like this place is far overpriced for what you receive. Ive been to tons of steak houses where everything is á la carte and it has been worth every single dollar. A unique dining experience is worth good money, but to drop $ 50-$ 100 a person for what it basically a glorified chain restaurant I would say look else where.

The staff was very nice, my cocktails were well crafted and they were busy. Bartender took her time to my drinks to perfection. Wish the had a better choice of indie whiskey but I understand they try to meet a clientele that doesn’t know better. The crab stack was good but 10+ years out of date and very contrived. The steak was cooked to a good mid rare but was under seasoned and and lacked caramelization. The fat did have a good flavor but it could use more age. For 52 bucks I expected better execution. I had the creamed spinach and it was satisfactory. The service would have me come back but maybe just for the good cocktails.

After I’ve been recommended to go there when I was looking for a very good restaurant in SB area I went there right away. Great surprise, both the beef and lamb chops were great and cooked just as requested(medium rare). Also the crème brûlée was pretty good(even though the top was cold…) Definitely a good place to go despite the fact that it’s a little bit pricy but once again you pay for quality.

A great fancy place for expensive people! High prices for food! But it taste great! All tables are set very nicely. The employees will back talk you if your not looking very nice. «I love this place… But I hear talking about me not being fancy.»

Just finished a family celebration. As expected, food and service were exceptional. My steak was done to perfection. Our server John was polite, professional and attentive. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is my favorite place to celebrate a special occasion! We’ve been here countless times(usually after events, on holidays, etc) and I’ve never been disappointed. Our food always comes out perfect & the steaks are to die for! The service here is what really sets this place apart from other places. The servers are always attentive, knowledgable and very friendly. I’ve come in here in jeans and a tee shirt before and in business attire and have been treated friendly no matter what! The staff is very down to earth!

On Saturday night, February 07, 2015 I had the unfortunate experience of dining at the Ruth’s Chris in Mishawaka, Indiana. I will begin on a positive note: All of the staff was extremely cordial. Beyond that, there is little to recommend about this location. It did not help that this was a special occasion dinner so it made what transpired that much more disappointing. We were seated at a table that it appeared the restaurant puts out on busy nights: A table directly in the path of servers and directly in front of a service station. After our server greeted us and took my wine order, he verbally stated that our bread service would arrive in a few minutes. About 19 minutes later, we still had no bread, and finally I requested it. Our meal began with the shared calamari, which was excessively greasy and not very hot. I wondered if it had been cooked in advance. My guest ordered the rib eye steak and I the bone-in filet. We shared a side of the au gratin potatoes. I had requested my filet prepared medium rare and what arrived was medium well. I brought the mistake to the server’s attention and then sat for nearly 20 minutes waiting for a new entrée to arrive. The au gratin potatoes were literally raw and completely inedible. My guest’s rib eye was cooked to the proper temperature, but it had a light gray appearance — almost as if it had been steamed rather than broiled, and it lacked any flavor whatsoever. When my new filet finally arrived, it was prepared the proper doneness, but it too was horrible — gray and flavorless with a «steamed» consistency. We voiced our extreme disappointment and our shared dessert was comped — ironically since it was my guest’s birthday anyway, this wasn’t much of a compensation. Our final bill was $ 219.00 without tip and neither of us felt like we even had dinner since neither our steaks nor our side was barely touched. I was so upset with the experience that I wrote to the company. They never replied.

It was okay, but we’ve had much better dinners at Corndance. Two of the filets were overlooked yet they still charged us for them even though members of our party ate by themselves when their recoiled steaks were delivered. Just disappointing given the price and expectations for a Ruth Chris dinner. The potatoes au gratin were thick and not tasty. We went with family from out of town but won’t be back. Corndance is a more enjoyable meal all around — save your money and go there!

Disappointed! We have been to the restaurant before, but this time dinner was a real disappointment. While the spinach salad was lovely, the crab stuffed mushrooms were not. There was so much breading that I literally could not find much crab! They used so much butter to flavor the ribeye steak that the richness was overwhelming! I guess Monday night is not the best night to celebrate my birthday.

Hello, Our experience this visit was horrible. We had reservations and our special occasion was ruined. We were treated as if we couldn’t afford our visit, we were a waste of time, rushed through the ordering process, and told how to eat our food. We wouldn’t recommend this business anymore to anyone, not even our worst enemies. So they too could be treated badly. We would like to speak with the Store Manager to rectify this situation. We paid $ 300.00 to celebrate our occasion at Ruths Chris but we were treated like we spent $ 2.00 at Mcdonalds in the drive through !!!

We went to Ruth’s Chris for New Years Eve with another couple and were very disappointed. I’ve eaten at Ruth’s Chris in the past and it seems the quality keeps slipping a little more each time. We had reservations for a couple months and even though the main dining room was not full we were seated in the banquet room downstairs. While nice, it is still a large banquet room and definitely wasn’t the atmosphere we were wanting for New Year’s Eve. However, I realize not everyone can have choice seating on a busy night and although disappointed, it was okay. The service was good, but not exceptional. After we were served our meal the server never came back to check in with us. We finished our meal and waited quite some time for her to come back to take dessert orders. I could see her at the other end of the room having a lengthy conversation with another table and she didn’t appear in any hurry to get back to us. The food was a big disappointment. For what is suppose to be a premier steak house, the filets were average at best. They had very little flavor and were a little tough. Just serving meat on a hot plate with a little butter isn’t fine dining. My husband had the steak and because I’m not a big meat eater and have an allergy to seafood there were not a lot of options. The only fish option other then seafood was halibut, which I’m not fond of. I decided to order the vegetarian option, which were three sides. The cost was $ 18,00 for a baked potato, 8 spears of asparagus, and three onion rings. The potato was promoted as being«loaded» however it just had butter and sour cream. The asparagus was very tough and chewy and the onion rings(3 of them) consisted of a tasteless batter and almost raw onions inside. The couple we were dining with ordered the potatoes lyonnaise, which were way overcooked, dry and tasteless and the mushrooms, which were just average. I had the Harvest Salad and it was very good, however it was very large for a side salad meant to be served with a meal. They didn’t have a small house salad option so this cost another $ 8.95 for the salad. My husband had the wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing and it was so drenched in dressing it was dripping and it was hard to even taste the salad. About half of what they put on it would have been more then enough. All in all, it was a very disappointing evening. Ruth’s Chris is relying too much on the name and not paying enough attention to the product. The cost is high and the whole experience does not rate better then a two star. We certainly won’t go back anytime soon, if ever.

The occasion was a birthday celebration… a party of 15 are dining in the«Coaches» room. The room was a little small for my liking, but adequate. The service, led by Greg, was very good. The atmosphere was quite nice. Based on those two factors alone I would rate this restaurant experience at four stars. However, in this case, and most cases, it’s all about the food: ingredients, complexity, imagination, style, consistency… etc. If this restaurant is trying to be a fine dining steakhouse, then it’s going to take more than adding butter to an average steak and placing it on an extremely hot plate. White tablecloths, an extensive wine list, and prime beef are standard for a consumer who knows the difference between contemporary casual and fine. While the quality of the food was good, it was not at the level I expect. Consumers would fair just as well choosing a lower priced counter part. If I am going to spend a $ 100 on a steak and a martini, I am anticipating quality. Friendly and professional, atmosphere and ambiance better than most, but the quality and value of the fare must improve a cut above the rest to receive more than 3 stars.

I’ve had a better steak at Denny’s for a fraction of the cost. Atmosphere wasnt conducive to an intimate or even semi-private seating arrangement. Couldn’t discuss anything over dinner without several parties heating every detail, and had to listen to conversation from very table around us. First and last visit to this establishment.

Our letter to management: Dear Tim, I would like to thank you for an eye-opening, educational and truly awesome experience my wife and I had on our seventh anniversary celebration dinner last night at the Ruth’s Chris steakhouse in Granger, IN, where you are the Managing Partner(and thank you for ensuring we were fully aware of your job title before we exited the restaurant). I would also like to take this moment to sincerely apologize for arriving 15 minutes after our 6 p.m. reservation time. I know how important your Ruth’s Chris steakhouse is to our local economy, and to think that we could have disrupted the Grand Design mere outsiders call the«seating schedule» just makes me downright sick to my stomach. When I called ahead to let you know we were running about 15 minutes late and you told me, clearly annoyed, to «just get here as fast as you can» because other guests seemed to be having the same issue that night, I realized the severity of the situation. Taking your advice, I mashed the pedal to the medal and made it there in record time(it turns out my vehicle has a rate limiter at 120 mph or we would have been there sooner). Imagine our relief when we arrived to a mostly-empty parking lot. Whew, crisis number one averted. As an aside, my wife really enjoyed the condescending way in which you greeted her and sarcastically thanked her for calling ahead. Our evening started with the one-if-a-kind, superb experience that one can find no place else on Earth but Ruth’s Chris. But then my on-call phone rang. We’re owners of a home care agency, and it was one of our caregivers who was lost and unable to find the home of the old lady who needed her help. So I stayed on the phone with her for 35 minutes, giving her turn-by-turn directions until she arrived at the home. While on this call, which believe me I really wanted to be on during our anniversary dinner, our steaks arrived. I noticed that mine appeared to be over cooked so I quickly cut into it to find that, in fact, it was. After the call ended I asked our waitress if I could please have a new one cooked properly, who told she would«see if they’ll do it.» Boy, Tim, you have created a culture of success my friend. Imagine our delight when you came to our table side and said«we’ll make you a new steak, but we’re going to have to come to an understanding.» Yes, Tim, please help me understand, because I’m clearly in the dark; please offer me a candle. When you offered me the bargain-basement price of $ 40 for the first steak and $ 20 for the properly-cooked one, I was humbled by your generosity. When I turned down your offer it was completely acceptable that you scolded me and reminded me that I «sat on my phone for 25 minutes.» Thank you again, Tim, for offering me a candle in my time of darkness. Thank you for helping to make our seventh anniversary celebration such a memorable one. And thank you for reluctantly agreeing to remove my overlooked steak from the bill, leaving me with an empty stomach and only owing $ 113. I’m sorry for the inconvenience we have caused and promise to never set foot in your establishments again.

After my last review of Ruth’s Chris I spoke with the GM and also let him know what a poor experience we had on Valentine’s Day. Since it was never about the quality of food which is always top-notch, we decided to try it one more time for my birthday recently. It was very different this time. I’m certain they remembered me/us and went out of their way to give us a much better experience which was appreciated. Filet and NY Strip along with a bottle of red were perfect and our server was attentive but not too hovering. I was wished«Happy Birthday» be several of the management staff and appreciated the gesture. Their carrot cake is still my fav and didn’t disappoint either! RC you have redeemed yourself and saved some customers, we’ll be back! Thanks.

After our previous experience(see my previous review on this location), the General Manager called me and was able to convince my wife and I to try again. So we went tonight for her birthday(no comment on which birthday, LOL). Upon arrival, our reservation was ready. When we were seated, my wife’s menu had a personalized insert wishing her a Happy Birthday, very nice touch. Our server, Kyle, was very friendly & professional. He gave us time to look over the menu and explained a few things we had questions about. The Carpaccio was very good. Tender and delicious! The house salads were also very good. Even the bread/butter was surprisingly good, crusty with a sweet butter. Both of our filets were cooked perfectly and delicious. The accompanying mashed potatoes were very generous servings and very tasty. Even the house Syrah wine to accompany the steaks was very good and complimented the filet perfectly. Then dessert was fabulous! My wife had the crème brûlée and enjoyed it a lot. But I don’t think anything could have topped mine. Chocolate. Mousse. Cheesecake… ‘Nuff said. My 3 favorite things all put together. This was the experience we were hoping for on our first visit. A truly wonderful time. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making it a great visit!

Very friendly service and food quality is always consistent. Our waiter made an excellent suggestion for a nice Cabernet with our steaks. Great place to stop for a quality meal when traveling through on I-80. Only minutes off the highway.

Porterhouse — Was it the best steak I’ve ever eaten? YES! Would I pay $ 48 for just that piece of meat again? Hmmm. Probably not And I didn’t hear the steak sizzling on MY plate. On the fence. Two steaks, two salads, two sides, one glass of wine and dessert, plus 20% gratuity — about $ 200.
