I just went wild and decided to go for a platinum pixie! Jennifer nailed it AGAIN with an awesome cut and gorgeous buttery platinum color! So warm! I LOVE it! And she cut my hair in a way that enabled me to have many different styles (which is perfect for my ADHD brain)! I can’t believe all the compliments I’ve gotten! I sent a ton of pics to her with ideas of what I wanted and what I didn’t want. Then I let get to work! Jen is a Master Stylist and Colorist (so proud!) and she ROCKED it!!! Thanks Jen!

Always get great service and leave feeling like a new woman! Love my cut & color by Jennifer and since we are both have curls she feels my pain when it comes to having the right length so that they «fall» like I like them! 5 Starts! :)

Not cool!
I used to see a stylist at this salon and when I called to schedule an appointment I found out that he was no longer there. Essentials told me that they did not have his information. I explained to the lady on the phone that I wanted to cut my long hair off and go short. I wanted a funky A-​line. I explained that I was nervous about switching stylist, but she assured me that she would be the one doing my cut and that she had years and years of experience. Since I had been going to the salon on and off since high school, I decided to make the appointment. Fast forward to appointment day. When I arrived (early) I was told that the lady I had spoken with was still with another client but that they had another stylist ready to cut my hair. I should have left, but I was so excited to go short, that I stayed. HUGE MISTAKE!!! I sat down with the stylist, explained that I was ignorant when it came to hair and instead of explaining what I wanted, I brought in pictures. She looked at the pictures and said no problem! Two hours later and at least two convos with the stylist that she was going in the wrong direction, I left the salon looking like what I can only describe as a cocker spaniel. I had short hair in the back… pixie like… and these two long curly sections hanging down like ears on either side of my head. Upset and late for another engagement, I left. I figured that maybe it was just a bad styling job and once I got home, washed my hair, and styled it my own way, it would look better. WRONG! The next morning as I was styling, I found that my hair was not laying right. I called another salon and was seen the same day. The stylist took a look at my hair and pointed out all the holes around my head. In order to fix my hair, she had to cut it all off. As in a Jennifer Lawrence cut. Needless to say I was upset. To make matter worse, I my old stylist got ahold of me and he informed me that Essentials did in fact have his contact number and he had heard from other clients that they were telling people he took off leaving no forwarding info. Bad business!!!

Jennifer cuts and colors my hair. She is awesome. So sweet and great to work with. Really listens to what you want, has worked, makes suggestions and cuts accordingly. And my color always turns out perfect. I highly recommend her!
Ann just started waxing my eyebrows. She is extremely knowledgable and does an excellent job.

Jennifer is the best. She has been doing my hair for about a year since I called in and was in desperate need of a cut an color for my high school reunion and was new to the area and didn’t know where to go. I am indecisive so she always has great ideas for what will look good w/​my skin tone. This time we did a pretty cool twist on an «hombre» and it is gorgeous with some brighter red panels on the underside of my hair. The color stays put and the cut is always great. I moved back to Reno but I still plan my travel to have Jennifer do my hair because she is just that Good.

A friend and I treated ourselves to facials here. Mine was with Jeannie. We were treated very well and promptly. I loved my facial and found Jeannie to be very pleasant and professional. I will definately go back.

Essentials was able to squeeze me in last minute when I needed a spray tan for an event. Andrea did my tan and she was great! She was super friendly and made me feel comfortable. When she was finished she gave me her card and told me to call if I had any questions or if I needed a free touch up before my event. My tan looked amazing; I even had friends asking where I got it done!
It’s $ 25 for your first tan and $ 30 after… great deal!

I love this place. I go there for my hair cuts and spa services. I use Katie for my haircuts and she is great. She’s done both permanent and semi permanent color on me and it always comes out exactly the way I wanted it to. Her hair cuts are amazing and I always walk out of there feeling good. Andrea is who I use for waxing and she does airbrush tanning. Also fantastic. I love all the people there. It’s very laid back. No snobby hair stylist in there. Everyone is super nice and you are made to feel welcomed. Their pricing is reasonable. I recommend Essentials very highly.
