First time in. Fresh and decent portions. Stopped for a quick bite knowing that a lot of times these little hole in the wall food joints are diamonds undiscovered. That being said, food was fresh and was tasty, though not the best I’ve ever had. It did in a pinch. Service was good, wait was to be expected for fresh cooked and not heat lamp fare. Yes I would recommend, but will keep looking.

Easily my favorite Asian style place in grants pass, with that said I’m from the Bay Area and haven’t found a place the least bit comparable to a California«Asian» place. but this is decent. Everything is always fresh, and flavor is pretty consistent, 2 little free wontons with your combo. Folks are nice and it’s convenient to call in and order ahead. No complaints here, prices went up a bit but hey, inflation. Right? Ha

their teriyaki beef bowl was atrocious, the beef isn’t cooked right and tastes cheap and chewy in a bad way. yoshinoya does a better job than this down in SoCal and they’re about the same price.

Food is average, service needs help. When we ordered they didn’t get my daughter’s order. When the order was ready I asked for a plate to share with my daughter so she wouldn’t have to wait, they wanted to charge me for the plate. Not impressed.

I’ve eaten Here a couple times in the last two weeks, first time had BBQ ribs and pepper garlic chicken, BBQ chicken and Mar Far chicken, next time I got Asian BBQ beef and one other item I forgot… I forgot what it was, but it’s all been good… fried rice and chow Mein are good, not too greasy. I grew up in the SF Bay Area, and worked for a while with mostly Chinese co workers, and I’ve been well exposed to good Asian food… I was honestly expecting grocery chain deli Chinese take out, and my expectations were greatly exceeded… I live outside of city limits, and when I have been in town, and want something to bring home for dinner, these guys are really conveniently located…

My wife and I frequented Asian Exprees about once a week spending a minimum of $ 16, but never again. On this last visit we ordered a few thing includeing two orders of chicken strips, which are usualy descent size for the $ 4 we paid for them. Apon opening the container we noticed the strips had shrunk in size signifagantly, one litteraly only as large as her pinky finger. She then went up to ask what happened, thinking maybe they mad a mistake with the scraps. BUTNO!!! she was told the strip are not pressed and will very in size. Ok, we understand. After some talking with him he said he would have them cook her anouther strip. PROBLEMSOLVED? NO!!! Two minutes later he came out and said that in previous times the must have been«too large», and they were not going to make her a REAL chicken strip. I then told him from now on i will take my buisness to McDonalds were i can can get 20 of these«Chicken Nuggets» for the same price as thier 3. In my oppinion save your money and go to a real chinese restaurant!!!

This is one of my favorite places to eat out in Grants Pass. The prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of food. My favorites include the Chicken Skewer and Panang Curry Combo. It is basically 2 meals in one. And for $ 5.99 you cannot beat it! I just wish you could make substitutions with the combo meals. I don’t really understand why you can’t.

I am always on the look out for good, inexpensive lunches. I drove by Asian Express and was a little skeptical about the sign outside advertising Tasty Bowls for $ 4.99. I decided to eventually try it and was pleasantly surprised. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and simple. The staff is very friendly. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki bowl. It comes with chicken breast sliced, covered with sauce and Asian Cole Slaw over a bed of rice. Both the chicken and cole slaw were very tasty and seemed to be made with fresh ingredients. It reminded me of a dish you might get in Hawaii. While the portion size was not huge, it was plenty for lunch. I have been back a few times and each time the Chicken Teri Tasty Bowl has been consistently good. I did try the Mongolian Beef last time I was there and was not as impressed. The sauce was not quite spicy enough and a little too thick for my taste. There are several other items that I would like to sample. The Kung Pao Chicken and the BBQ Ribs among them. If you are looking for a clean restaurant with fast service, inexpensive prices and good food, I would recommend Asian Express.
