I have been here in the past and enjoyed my lunches. It has been a while since my last visit. But today was different. Their tomato basil soup is usually one of my favs but it was microwaved today. Making it hot in spots and cold in others. It also tasted old. There was no one really there and if this is an example of their quality I understand why. Then the lunch special I ordered was just ok. Portion way too large for lunch and chicken was more like jerky. Suggestion. Smaller lunch portions and prices. Make meals fresh to order. The bread was excellent. Service was good hence the three stars. I won’t be back for s while

We had a lovely dinner there tonight. Tomato basil soup was excellent and the pasta selections were perfect. The food takes a while because it’s freshly cooked. We’ll be back!

OMG! The best service, food, & did I mention great service? The soups were excellent, the pastas were superb, and I eat so much that I seriously made myself sick eating not one, but two desserts. Yum, yum, yum!

we always tend to pass by, it’s located on a busy street, but boy what a treat, I had the linguine and clams, something you can’t find anywhere in GP. It was excellent! The bread was a light kind of like Panini they get from Ashland. John and I really loved our meal. We’ll be back.

The food is so good! Sometimes I feel like the staff is overwhelmed, and it may seem a little pricey but it so well worth it. Huge portions, and delicious options. Love the interior of this place too!

What a find in downtown Grants Pass! One of the best Reubin sandwiches I have ever had. The corn beef was perfect– tender, thin cut and delicious. Excellent service and nice violin music.

On a road trip a friend and I were headed into another restaurant in Grants Pass but it was closed and a lady in a car driving by stopped and recommended Rosso’s. It was very cozy and quaint as we walked in. We were greeted by a warm smiling server named Maria as soon as we sat. I wasn’t too hungry so chose the Squash and Eggplant Salad with warm Gorgonzola dressing. It was very fresh and tasty. The bread and garlic butter was amazing. The iced tea was very good and not that disappointing instant tea. The bathroom is the tiniest I’ve seen but was immaculate. If the opportunity arises I will definitely return and try a pasta dish.

We stopped for lunch at this unassuming restaurant in an old downtown building and sat in old-fashioned looking booths with high wooden backs. We ordered Reuben and a ham and cheese sandwiches. They came on a paper-covered plastic plates but we had large cloth napkins. I asked the high-calorie 1000 Isle dressing be left off the reuben with the result that the strong sauerkraut dominated the sandwich. The meat was lean and tender and the bread was good: that swirled brown-white rye. We noticed hat six different soups were available; as were several deserts.

Love Rosso’s soups, sandwiches, salads and pasta. The coconut pumpkin soup is amazing. I highly recommend the ham formaggio panini, meatball sub, Italian wedding soup, and chicken Gorgonzola pasta. Service is great, and the décor is colorful and cozy.

Heard this place had become a dive from friends — but decided to check it out myself. My husband and I went in and sat there for 15 minutes before the waitress came by with menues! She didn’t bring water or bread just menues and her words were«do you need a few minutes to decide what you want» I replied«I have waited here for 15 minutes» she says«we are a restaurant not a fast food joint» needless to say we left and walked across the street in agreeance that we will never set foot in there again. We went to blondies bistro instead — they are great would recommend them all day over rossos

Stopped here on a road trip after reading about it in The Dog Lover’s Companion to The Pacific Northwest. Grant’s Pass is a cute little town and it was nice to get off I-5 and check it out. At Rosso’s, we sat out at the sidewalk café tables with our pup, who was served a cup of water. I had the Gorgonzola Chicken pasta and my husband had the Ragu with sausage, mushrooms and black olives… Both were delicious! I really appreciate it when restaurants offer the option of smaller portions. We both opted for the«smaller portion» for $ 2 less since we were traveling to a hotel and weren’t sure whether we’d have a refrigerator or microwave. With the salad, bread and pasta, we still had leftovers! If we hadn’t been getting back on the road, I might have considered their wine list and wine specials which looked great, maybe next time! Our server was friendly and helpful and even gave us some tips for the next leg of our drive. We’ve definitely bookmarked this so we can return. I would just note that«delicatessen» is a little misleading. I didn’t see that term on the restaurant’s signage or menu(their website is labelled«Rosso’s Trattoria») and the menu is more inline with a trattoria — wine by the glass or bottle, specialty pastas, salads and paninis.

Dinner was great in June 2013. The spinach salad was beautiful and tasty, pasta alfredo very good; partner had fantastic basil soup and alfredo pasta was shared. Will definitely stop in again, going through town or staying there.

This place is overall good. The tomato basil is yummy with a good book. I crave the penne pasta with chicken and Gorgonzola… and often recreate it at home. The restaurant is not child friendly.

Terrible! One waitress for entire dinner rush! Very dark, old worn out décor that needs to be refreshed. I overheard the waitress tell three different tables the restaurant was out of this, that… even cabernet! We ordered the bruschetta which was cold, stale focaccia topped with barely ripe chopped tomatoes, poorly chopped basil, canned black olives, and some balsamic. Barely edible. The dinner salads were extremely plain. The pasta was just standard. My wife and I walked out bummed out. We could have bought a jar of Prego and some pasta and would have enjoyed our evening more.

We went two times in one week, first time our lunch was delicious, but the soup wasnt very hot… our only complaint. Dessert was soooo good. Next time we had dinner there, food was amazing but the service was horrible, people seated after us had their meals before we even got our salad… otherwise everything was good and consistent. Will eat there again soon.

The food here is awful. Ordered tomatoe basil soup and bruschetta. The soup was luke warm, too much garlic, and made with canned stewed tomatoes, worst soup ever! The bruschetta was tasteless and the bread wasnt grilled. Dont waste your money here

I wish I could give this place a better rating because the restaurant is really cute, the server was very nice, the portions are huge and reasonably priced, they offered whole wheat pasta(yay!), and they were incredibly accomodating when it came to my special requests with my food. However, I had few issues with this place that are absolutely critical to a positive dining experience. The big problem was the service. There was only one server when I arrived at 6:30pm for dinner. She was running around like crazy trying to keep up while keeping an absolutely amazing attitude, but she just couldn’t handle things. It wasn’t her fault; they needed at least two more servers for the number of tables that were filled. Anyhow, it took us more than 15 minutes just to get a glass of water brought out, and our order was finally taken after being in the restaurant for 25 minutes. Once we had put the order in, it didn’t take too long to get our food though. And then, the food was just average. To start, they offered bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil which was delicious. For my main meal, I got the homemade marinara penne made with whole wheat noodles plus a side salad. It was ok, but not amazing. I had chosen the penne because, as a vegan, it was the only thing I could order on the menu. Maybe my problem was just that pasta and red sauce is my least favorite thing to order at a resaturant. When I go to a restaurant, I hope to be wowed with something that I couldn’t do at home or just had never thought to try it. Pasta with red sauce will never wow me. If they had another option like a twist on pasta con aglio e olio where they added in some delicious veggies or something, I would have gone crazy over this place. If you are a meat eater, you may enjoy this place more than me. But good luck with the service. Hopefully, they will hire a larger staff sometime soon. I felt terrible for the poor server.

I only went there once, and it’s pretty decent. Service was very good, but the food was just average. My salad leaves tasted a bit old(maybe ‘wilted’ is more appropriate here). Great selection of food… Atmosphere was good, but nothing spectacular. The layout was a bit awkward. And the lights were dimmed a bit much. I may eat there again, but this isn’t someplace I would take my family to when they visit me next month.
