I really like this place. Sadly it announced its closure. It will be missed. The reasons are unclear, however The Haul across the street really cut into their business.

Delish! Had the Cobb salad which was delicious. My husband ordered the BLT but ended up with the Cordon Blue sandwich which was amazing.(I know cuz I took a bite… and then another)

This is a GREAT restaurant! Beautiful interior, really private dining, excellent service and the food is «to die for»! The menu is really a nice mix and very different plus the bar can really fix your favorite cocktail the best of any other bar! Their prices are even fairly reasonable. If you are looking for someplace different to go and want to be pleasantly surprised by the wonderful fare, go to Roux 26! PS: The grilled artichoke hearts are the BESTEVER!

Great find for the small town of Grants Pass. My boys and I were on our way thru town for a quick overnight stay, heading home(Orange County, Ca) from a boys road trip up to Washington State. Looked on Unilocal for a good place to eat, not fans of the typical fare. This place had great reviews and some good looking pics posted. They have calamari which is a favorite of both my 9 and almost 4 years old, and it was very tasty! Our waitress and GM, Alexis(spelling???) was great, beyond friendly and catered to my boys which was great! I also met the owner, John, great guy and eager to make sure his guest are well taken care of, that’s always appreciated! Both of them are Southern California/San Diego transplants. The food was awesome! The boys had pasta; it’s what they like, can’t help it. We had the calamari and some amazing homemade tater tots for starters. I also had a roasted beet salad, it’s one of those things I always get when its on a menu. All that stuff was great, fresh and totally a taste of farm to table taste! For my meal I have the pork chops which came with cheese grits and spinach. For $ 18 bucks it was two chops and a huge serving of tasty grits! Not a step was missed on the meal, service, freshness of food, cleanliness of restaurant, the whole nine yards! I’ve only ever stopped in Grants Pass for gas, but now it’s a stop for some really good eats! The area is quickly turning into a younger vibe kind of town, but still has that small town feel. The Owner John is also the recently elected Official of Tourism for the area. He’s got great plans from the sounds of it and I can fully see it happening based on our meal at his place. Can’t wait to get back thru GP again sometime soon…

We got to sit outside on a beautiful evening. The staff is beyond friendly and great service. But we only had salads and appetizers they were wonderful and large and the pour on the wine was more than generous. Try the Pinot Gris

Quite the gem in Grants Pass! Beautiful rustic, Western décor with awesome belt-driven fans. Restaurant is well spaced out so it feels very private. Items on the menu were priced reasonably as well. Started things off with mushroom thyme pizza with truffle oil. A little big for an «appetizer» for two but thin crust and delicious. Next up was the normal ½lb. cheeseburger. Nothing too spectacular but very good and the natural cut fries were good as well. Service was very friendly and always checking up on us. After a slew of restaurants with poor service it was nice not having to flag someone down. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in Grants Pass.

Beautiful ambiance, dark with these cute fans on belts. Lots of art work. Booths, tables, bar. Western style theme with rustic brown, cow hide in the booth. Ordered the mushroom thyme pizza with truffle oil on a thin crust wood fire pizza. Amazing! You like mushroom, you’ll love this. So flavorful. 12 inches pretty big at $ 13. Shared the pizza & also got the coconut yellow curry vegetables. Very spicy. Vegetables were unconfirmed by the server so I took a blind chance at what I’d get. Includes a cup of brown rice, zucchini, mini red, orange, yellow peppers, onions, roots(ginger?) & mushroom. It was good but expensive for some veggies.

I was on a roadtrip when i came here and i stopped in Grants Pass and decided it was time for a quality meal instead of cheap diners. The vibe in Roux 26 is very relaxed. There were a few vegetarian options and even some vegan, but not much. I’m vegetarian and I ordered the Curried Vegetables, it was delicious at first but after eating a bit it filled me up before i was halfway done. It was very rich and a little too spicy for my taste. I was with my dad and he got the Fettuccini and Sundried Tomato Alfredo, we ended up switching dishes and really enjoying them. We also got the Charred Broccoli, it disappointed me but my dad loved it. Summary: curried vegetables very spicy and portions are huge. Oh and the service was excellent! Very friendly staff.

Good fish and chips tonight. Really enjoy the vibe here and the service was prompt and friendly. And, the radio is playing newer music than the same old 60’s and 70’s tunes that I hear over and over everywhere around GP Lol …

We went here for dinner last night. First off, the ambiance is impressive and extremely unique to these parts. It is comprised of large, comfy, private booths and then some table with spectacular hardwood floor throughout. In the main dining room, there are floor to ceiling windows overlooking downtown Grants Pass, but we sat in a tiny room off the side of the bar. The ceiling is awesome– the ceiling fans operate based on a pulley system… so cool! The bar had some pretty nice live jazz music that wafted into our area that we enjoyed very much. Now for the food! Prices are very reasonable and portions are pretty generous. We decided to take the«shared plates» approach to our meal. The good? The roasted cauliflower is to die for! It’s tossed in a delicious, spicy, flavorful harissa sauce that I wanted to take a bath in. I could have eaten this dish all night and been incredibly satisfied. Definitely the cauliflower was the big star of the night for us. Next, we had the«charred» broccoli. This one was the big fail for us unfortunately. We make this at home very often and really like our broccoli roasted and crispy. Their broccoli appears to be boiled or steamed first, and then I suspect they lightly grill it? The ends had a very minor char but not enough to earn that descriptor on the menu. So, the texture was soft when it should have been crisper, and I think it sorely lacked a blast of citrus. Add some lemon juice and that should elevate the flavors hugely but the way they serve it now? I wouldn’t order it again. Next we had the farro salad which I absolutely loved. It was healthy, clean and fresh. Cold farro, greens, pistachios, shaved parmesan, radishes and lemon vinaigrette. I love all of those ingredients and this salad pleased me to no end. I look forward to enjoying this one again next we come back. Last, we decided to split a small Margherita pizza. While I appreciate the homemade feel of it and enjoyed the crust and the marinara, I think there was far too much cheese on it and the tomato slices were added after the pizza cooked(no no NO!). A Margherita pizza is a delicate thing– crispy, thin crust with a light sprinkling of cheese and cooked diced tomatoes with basil. The cheese here was too heavy and the crust sagged completely in the middle of the pizza. Either roll a thicker crust or use half of that cheese. Then again, please please please dice them tomatoes and put ‘em on before you bake it. Just a suggestion :) We loved our experience here. The menu is diverse, there are tons of vegetarian options, and the ambiance was different… it felt like we were away on vacation instead of home in the Rogue Valley.

As my husband will tell you, I’m awfully good at complaining. I prefer to think of it as discerning taste. Unfortunately, try as I might, I am unable to find anything to complain about after our visit to the Roux. Beet salad and pizzas were amazingly smartly flavored. Good wine at affordable prices. Our waitress Marcela was a spot of Costa Rican sunishine with her beautiful personality. Oh wait, I do have one complaint. We may not get a chance to eat our leftovers because we’re traveling. If so, I will leave them behind in our loding with considerable regret.

In town for one night and had a wonderful meal at Roux 26 Friday evening. Live music was playing in the bar area which made for even a better experience. The wait staff were enthusiastic and made us feel welcome. Judging by the crowd this is a favorite of locals looking for a quality dinning experience as well. Everything we tried was really tasty and as good as any fine dinning we’ve had in other cities. We started with a couple of their signature drinks — an R26(vanilla vodka and mango) and the Blue Berry Lemon Drop. Both were delicious. Fresh baked bread was served and we split a Wedge Salad. The Blue Cheese dressing was one of the best we’ve had and I loved the huge bacon chunks. We both ordered Ribeye steaks and should have split one order — they were large enough that half would have been more than enough. Seasoning on the steak was delightful and they were cooked perfectly. The only disappointment, and I can’t say it was«bad,» was the order of smashed potatoes. The amount of garlic was a little heavier than we like. If that’s your taste then these would be perfect. If we’re back in Grants Pass we’ll definitely stop in again.

I’ve been here a few times now. The food is really quite good, but the service is kind of hit and miss. Sometimes it’s superb and sometimes it is lacking. While it’s not terrible service by any means, not getting drinks refilled and/or long wait times to be seated is definitely a downer. The food, however, I have no complaints about. I don’t even like tater tots, but the ones they serve here totally converted me!

Been here twice with friends and loved the food and the ambience in the bar is really sweet. It’s nice to have such a great, upscale place in GP that won’t empty your bank account. The food was very good; we were in the bar when they had a sampling of their different pizzas and they were very good. The beer selection was also good as they had something for every kind of beer drinker. The only bad thing I’ve got to say is that their hours are screwy being closed on Sundays and Mondays. I actually don’t understand how you can be closed on a weekend day because this place would do a bang-up brunch trade(but maybe they take the Sabbath off, so good for them), but Monday is just weird unless you’re a barber(and they don’t even do that anymore). So, would have given them 5 stars for food and service but for the goofy days they’re closed. We were planning to go there on the Monday after our class reunion since there were a bunch of us still in town, but they were all closed up. Maybe those days don’t justify being open, but I guess it’s better to be closed than to let down the quality level.

We have been to many restaurants in GP, and Roux 26 is hands down my favorite. We are up visiting for the Holidays from the Bay Area, where we have many great places to eat, and this place would fit right in! Not only was the food stellar, the service was top notch! We will definitely come back every time we’re in town. Lastly, i must say that the entertainment, Josh Gibson and Jesse both on guitar and Josh on vocals was first rate. Wish they had an album, what an unexpected treat! Great food, service, and entertainment, you couldn’t ask for a better evening!

Pretty great place for a date night. Food was tasty, atmosphere was quite nice. Why 3 stars and not 4 or 5. –When we arrived they gave us a 30 minute wait even though many tables were open. –When delivering food they just kind of dropped it on the table. –The waitress said she would be right back with some water, so I sipped my last little bit of water…20 minutes later she came back with water. –Ordered the fries that came with my steak crispy, they came out barely cooked I was all on board with 4 stars even after the waits… but it just seemed like one thing after another. If they stepped up their service game I think they would have something great!

Decided to skip fast food to try this place while on the way back home. The restaurant feels very homey and I was delighted by the staff with their friendliness. The food overall was good. I shared the fried chicken sandwich and the Roux cheeseburger. My favorite of the two was the fried chicken, texture and taste was on point. The Roux cheeseburger in my opinion didn’t have enough cheese, so if you love cheese make sure to politely ask to stack on more. The tater tots were prepared like hush puppies, but were still good.

The food has always been pretty on point. Minus one star for really uppity servers. I’m a great tipper. You really have to be terrible for me to give less than 20%. I’ve left 15% each of the thee timed I’ve been. When a patron asks questions about the menu, please do not act like you are too busy, or that the patron shouldn’t be asking. I’m not asking things for your benefit. They’re for mine. Minus one star for the prices. Although the food is great, the long waits and portions don’t justify the prices. No, I’m not just a fatty trying to get a larger portion. :D

We were traveling through and stopped at Roux 26 with our 3 very little children. Instantly we thought, «crap. this is not a place to bring kids to– especially ones who’ve been in the car for 6 hours…» But from start to finish, our service was impeccable. The hostess was sweet, our server was so nice, and we were taken care of just like anyone else in the restaurant. The décor is seriously amazing. The attention to detail was not lost on us. It is a beautiful space and you feel comfortable, but fancy at the same time. I have celiac, and the gluten free options were spot on. I ordered a pizza and was not disappointed! My husband ordered a regular crust pizza and he basically licked the plate clean. Whether you are passing through or live in the area, I highly recommend Roux 26.

If you ever find yourself in Grant’s Pass, this restaurant is where it’s at. Grants Pass resembles Flagstaff or Reno very much, but not as big a city and definitely not as much travel tourism passing through as the other two(yet). It’s a small river town with only a handful of mentionable restaurants. Of the mentionable, Roux 26 is at the top. The owners are previously natives of Santa Barbara, California, but decided to start anew in this unique(and extremely affordable) town of Grants Pass. Their first endeavor upon their arrival was Jimmy’s Classic Drive-In diner and turned into a complete success. Roux 26 is their second restaurant which only opened a few months back, earlier this year. It’s airy and spacious, giving the feeling of being in a very clean atrium. It’s décor is an eye appealing style, similar to France in the 1920s. Sleek, polished refurbished two-toned wood surfaces along side tasteful brown leather and speckled cowhide booths, make for a comfortable yet refined look. Also fancy wooden stools and tables topped with small, bright green, live succulent plants throughout, liven up the space, along with a few beautiful oil paintings of Spanish ladies throughout the dining hall. So far, the atmosphere makes you want to stay just a little bit longer. The two of us were attempting to order light, as we both had late lunches… This is what we sunk our teeth into… Hummus & Jalapeño Flatbread(special ordered gluten-free) — Roux hummus, sliced jalapeños, and tomatoes atop a lightly grilled crust. This was huge! Almost the size of a medium to large sized pizza! It easily could have become our main dish, be forewarned. ;) Still tasty, and ultra impressed that they could make a gluten free flat bread, just like that! Roux Beet Salad — baby greens, roasted beets, goat cheese, and toasted walnuts with mustard seed vinaigrette. Pretty standard dish, but they delivered it well. We mentioned we wanted to split it and they brought it out on two separate plates! I love it when a place does this. All the ingredients were local, and ultra fresh. Grilled Sockeye Salmon — roasted mushrooms, white wine sauce, lemon scented basmati and grilled asparagus.(It says ‘Coho’ on the menu, but apparently it’s Sockeye now.) In all honesty, by the time we got to splitting this last«course», we were both more than full. Overall, it tasted good. The sauce was lightly drizzled atop the mushrooms and fish fillet perfectly, while the asparagus was supple and soft. If I had the dish again, I would order it without the rice and throw in more veggies.
A majority of the American wine selections were from places we had never heard of in both California and Oregon. We took a few shots in the dark, when it came to our selection and completely lucked out…(unless all their wine is just fabulous and there was no luck involved?) Our first pick was the Rosella’s Red Blend, Applegate Valley, Grants Pass, Oregon. It was even toned, smooth, fruit forward, along with a subtle spice. It ended up tasting great with the jalapeños and worked well to start. Our second pick was the Red Lilly 2007 Tempranillo, Medford, Oregon. It’s many layers did a fancy dance across my tongue… titillating the senses, covering the entire front, mid and back palette. There were hints of vanilla, cinnamon, and plum along with a smooth blueberry back-kick. After a few glasses, we couldn’t help ourselves… and wound up ordering a bottle! Red Lily definitely won us over! The bartender, the servers and the owner were unbelievably kind and generous. This place is a true diamond in the rough. Get over there if you’re ever in the area… Roux 26 is not to be missed.
