I had the chocolate and it didn’t taste like chocolate! In fact it didn’t have much flavor at all !!! It was cold — that’s about all I can say about it. I would strongly suggest the owners of this establishment make a trip to Northfield OH to taste their frozen custard — I cannot say the name on this website but the frozen custard stand starts with the letter R I hope they will make the trip because they may learn a few things about making really good frozen custard.

Five stars!!! The flavor wad great but the creaminess(This doesn’t seem to be spelled right) was so amazing. In this area you have Jeni’s, Graeters, and others but this place can stand by itself. Really fast moving lines and it was all top quality.

I’ve never had ice cream that was bad. This was no exception. I had the peanut butter cookie dough, and it was yummy! Nothing mind blowing but yummy indeed. The service was good. The ladies taking my order was very bubbly and helpful in letting me taste everything.

Definitely worth stopping in and getting the flavor of the week!!! Bonus: they let you taste test it before you buy it. The flavors are really creative and super yummy. Suggestion: the kids cup is the perfect serving for an adult!

I love their daily flavors! That said, I just wish they had more seating. But I’m not going to complain too much about it because they are the best in Granville, OH. I like coming here to take a break from work and grab some delicious Carmel Apple Pie or Chocolate Covered Strawberry frozen custard. Yum! Bön Appetite!

Best stuff on earth, try a chocolate whitser with marshmallow and almonds, dubbed the rocky road. Wonderful local business.

Whit’s is the perfect place to stop for a cold treat in Granville. Lines can stretch out the door on warm evenings when the weekly flavor is especially popular. Don’t miss weeks when Almond Joy is served. Espresso chip and the chocolate/brownie explosion from the freezer are worth taking home.

Whit’s is THE place to go for frozen custard in this town. OK, so there’s only like two or three places to choose from(which is actually kind of a lot for a town as small as Granville), but it’s pretty awesome. It may not the best place I’ve ever been to, but it’s high on my list of dairy delights. Whit’s small town charm and delicious treats keeps a constant crowd of customers. There aren’t many places to sit inside(actually, like… maybe a couple bar stools), so you’ll usually find yourself at one of the outdoors tables or strolling through town with melting ice cream in your hand. Their flavors are simple: vanilla, chocolate, and special flavors that rotate every week. Add toppings, turn them into milkshakes, whatever — they’ve got it. You’ll love it. The Soup Loft is also located upstairs so you can walk through Whit’s to go up and get some soup, too.

Being used to Graeter’s and Hagen Dasz, I was impressed with my first trip to(any) Whit’s. I had a peanut butter sundae with peanut butter cups. It was super good — peanut butter sauce is always amazing. I’m a fan of the softer(custard) ice cream anyway, so this really was a treat. The only downside is VERY limited indoor seating at this particular location. There are basically two half-round benches to sit on, but no tables. In the summertime, you can head outside to one of their tables there… but they were all taken when we visited.

Great custard. Make sure to try the special rotating flavor. We tried the Girl Scout mint custard(with thin mint pieces swirled throughout) and it was so good that we ate it two nights in a row… in snowy weather!

A favorite spot for our family and seemingly most families in the area. Rich creamy goodness. And responsible for my Summer 5 lb gain.

Whit’s up? Delicious custard and surprisingly delicious hot dogs, that’s whits, err I mean what. Whits is a landmark location to many students at Denison University and also to the citizens of Granville. With ridiculously delicious frozen custard(Denison Delight is baller) at reasonable prices, Whits is perfect for any time of the year. This year, I tried their hot dogs and honestly, I didn’t think anything could compare to their custard until I took a bite. TRY A WHITSHOTDOG. It’s the best dog around, dawg. Only negatives I have about it is if you catch it at a bad time, you’ll be waiting(or whitting, harhar) in line for a while. Seriously, if you are in Granville, grab a spoon, you won’t regret it.

Great place for custard and good cheap coffee. I like to do an easy recovery ride on the bike path(Johnstown to Newark & back). Then make a stop on the way back for a custard.

Nearly every time I’m craving an icy cold treat, I find myself wishing I was back in college in the small town of Granville, Ohio so I could walk to Whit’s Frozen Custard. I think I gained my freshman 15 from eating their custard, and not from college sodas. Not only is Whit’s supremely delicious, it also has found an ice cream shop formula that works. You can find Chocolate, Vanilla or the Flavor of the Week — that’s it, but that’s all you need for the frozen custard trifecta. Of course they have a number of specialty sundaes and a few treats like ice cream sandwiches and chocolate covered bananas, but by keeping the menu uncomplicated, they have customers coming back again and again. Plus, they have Guinness flavored custard during the week of St. Patrick’s Day. Gotta love the originality in that! The prices are great and the employees are friendly. So if you find yourself in Granville, or even the greater Columbus area, drive on over to Whit’s. It’s definitely worth it. And I promise, your tummy will thank you.

When classes are in session and the weather is hot my friends and I usually make it a point to go to Whit’s once a week.(Is that unhealthy?) I’ve never had any of the food options, but the frozen custard is scrumptious. Three flavors are served: vanilla, chocolate, and a «Flavor of the Week» that changes(you guessed it) every week. My favorite weekly flavors include Almond Joy(coconut flavored custard with dark chocolate pieces and almonds), Orange Dream(orange cream custard with vanilla Oreo pieces– they’ve only had it once but it was absolutely delicious), and Thin Mint(mint custard with huge pieces of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies). Although there are only three flavors available, there are a variety of «Whitsers,» sundaes, floats, shakes, etc. etc. that allow you to blend basically whatever flavor you want. I worked at a chain frozen custard place in Troy, OH called Culver’s– maybe you’ve heard of it?- anyway, I think that the custard at Whit’s is about on par with that. I usually order off of the kid’s menu, which is $ 1.50 for a sizeable scoop of custard. Nestled in the center of Granville, Whit’s plays an active part in creating that cozy, home-town feel that the townies aspire to. As a college student, going to Whit’s while people are walking their dogs/kids and sitting in the sun eating frozen custard is sometimes like being in some Americana postcard. The thing is, it’s a postcard that you would actually *want* to hang on your refrigerator. Whit’s: You know what you’re getting, and what you’re getting is yummy frozen custard. Which is why you know what you’re getting.

I went to Whit’s on a warm May evening the weekend of Denison University’s graduation, so of course there was a line out the door. There were 3 flavors available: vanilla, chocolate, and Denison Delight, described as a vanilla custard with brownie bits and some other niceties. Unfortunately, they ran out of Denison Delight, so I had a small serving of the chocolate custard instead. It was nothing special. It tasted to me like ordinary soft-serve ice cream, no different from Culver’s or some other mass-produced frozen custard. I don’t understand the appeal.

Being from New York, a sign that said Coffee 50 cents was extremely hilarious to me — but its true! Soup Loft upstairs. Whitsers are amazing — my favorite was the buckeye with peanut butter and chocolate and wonderfulness in a giant cup that is dangerous to finish. Open seasonally but not closed for very long in the winter. Flavor of the week is create and they pack their own pints. Thin Mint as a flavor! Yes please!

Whit’s is one of the best frozen custard places I have ever been to. The ice cream is always creamy and the taste always terrific. This custard shop always carries the standard chocolate and vanilla, and as good as these are, the best usually comes in the form of the flavor of the week. My favorite is Espresso Chip. Whit’s also offers cold drinks, 50 cent coffee, as well as other dairy treats such as ice cream pies, bars, and whitsers, their version of an improved blizzard. This company is so successful that they recently opened to franchise and two new stores are opening shortly.
