Standard Greek casual dining, but I really like their Moussaka! Bursting with great flavors and is a dish that I make a special trip for when I’m craving it. It’s like a Greek Lasagne. My rating isn’t higher because the rest is just average. Not bad, but nothing special.

Ordered delivery to a hotel literally 2 miles away. They had a minimum order for delivery, so I had to order extra. I waited an hour to have half of my food and half of someone else’s delivered to me cold and with no utensils or napkins. I called back and they apologized and told me the rest of my order was on its way. I opened my $ 10 gyro platter. The gyro was small, but had good flavor. Also very small portion of fries and salad(no fork, remember?). After ANOTHER hour had passed, I called to check on the status of the hummus and pita that I had to order to meet their minimum. They said it should be on the way. Finally, about 15 min later, I got cold pita bread and hummus and a fork to eat my warm, wilted salad. $ 18.22 to be annoyed and disappointed … Over priced for mediocre food and the wait was beyond ridiculous. Stuff happens, but come on…

Has gone down hill fast since Alex is gone. Gyro meat should come fresh, not really heated. When you ask f I really desert after your meal, it should not come out first and sit in the sauce through your meal getting soggy.

I came to grab some food during a break from the art class I was taking next door. The gyro I got was okay, but the tzatziki sauce(you know, the thing that makes or breaks a gyro) was unbelievably bland. It was basically Greek yogurt with some cucumbers in it. The fries were just okay. Overall, I wasn’t too impressed and I won’t be back.

Ordered a gyro plate and egg lemon soup. Everything was great, except that the soup was more a chicken broth and rice. Not a traditional egg lemon soup. Tasted good, but not what I wanted…

Let’s start out with the fact that there were six of us. Next, let’s throw in that the youngest is 3 and was exhausted from swimming all morning. We were also their first customers of the day. Now let’s start with the food. Gyros are Gyros but their generous portions, fresh pita, and friendly service made the experience great. Their tzatziki sauce acquitted itself well and the dolmades appetizer was excellent. My moussaka was perfectly prepared as well. We also finished off some of their baklava to end an overall great experience! This place was packed when we left and we can see why it’s a favorite with the locals.

Delicious gyro. The meat, onion and tzatziki sauce was perfect. The beef dolmas not so much. These dolmas had no sauce, beef was tasteless and dry. The salad was tasty, we liked the capers. The feta on the salad was very small pieces and lacking. So, mixed review. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

My sister works just a couple of doors down from Alex’s, it was lunchtime when she got done with work so my son and I met her at Alex’s. My sister and I both got gyro plates, and my son a kid’s hamburger. We also got appetizers of falafel and hummus. Everything was as good as my sister said it was. One of the things I liked about the gyro plate is that instead of giving you just the meat and pita wedges like I have seen at other Greek restaurants, they actually make the sandwich complete with tomatoes and tziki sauce. A delicious Greek salad and fries round out the meal. It hit the spot! My son also loved his hamburger. Everything was delicious and the prices were good, too. When I get back to D/FW and I’m craving some Greek food I know that Alex’s is the place to go! Next time I might have to try their musaka.

Food is amazing. Delivery is fast, but the new girl who answers the phone is incredibly rude. I hoped that I had just caught her on a bad day, but the last 3 times I have called she has been incredibly hostile. Other than her I absolutely recommend this place!

Alex’s is one of my favorite local spots! I never wait long and I love their gyros. The tzatziki sauce is the perfect consistency and the pita is hot, fresh and soft! Laid back like a hole in the wall should be, and the cleanliness and service are top notch.

The food is fine at a good price but listening to the manager yell and degrade his sister in front of everyone in the restaurant is beyond disgusting. I will never return here because of the horrible treatment I have seen by the manager to his employees/family.

Spending a weekend stay-cation at Great Wolf Lodge, we explored nearby restaurants and this was one of them. Left extremely happy and impressed! Alex the owner is a boisterous and very friendly owner, greets everyone and ensures everything is ok. We had the Greek salad, gyro, chicken gyro, hummus — all were good. My favorite of the evening would be the gyro; it wasn’t over seasoned, was tender and with the tzaki sauce was very well balanced! Ended the evening with some baklava which Alex said were homemade… melts in your mouth, can’t beat that! Certainly would return; this was very value-friendly, they deliver(within a certain radius) and if I stayed nearby certainly would be a regular at this place! One of the better Greek places we’ve been to for sure!

Alex’s Greek Café has the best gyros in town. It was more than worth my 30 minute drive to get here.

We were in the area at lunch time and, based on the Unilocal reviews, thought we would check this place out. It was OK but not great. My Greek salad was disappointing and my wife’s chicken was a bit dry. The place is clean and the service is friendly. I would go back and give some of the other items a try and see if I can squeeze another star or two from another experience.

Reading Unilocal reviews I came across one from Rae C. She gave a greek joint 5 stars and its only 4 miles from my house. So my plans for a salad and then on to the gym were thwarted mostly because I have no self control when it comes to a good Gyro. The Venue. Nestled in a somewhat aged strip mall a few blocks away from the hustle and bustle of Grapvine’s historic main street. The place has a similar vibe to Yummies in Denton(of which I gave 4 stars). Not flashy or fancy this is just good grub no questions asked. The place was very clean and although the place was not packed the phone was ringing off the hook for take out and delivery orders. The delivery guy was literally running to and from his car completing at least 3 trips(deliveries) while I was in the dining room. The food. Hot. Yummie. Delicious. If you like Gyros. You will like this place. Nuff Said. The Service. Hey this is fast casual. Don’t expect much right? The manager, owner, or just employee(IDK) checked on every table to make sure they were enjoying their food. All this while the phone is about to explode off the wall. Good job! I felt welcomed and appreciated for my $ 9 dollars. Summary. These people are doing it right. Not only will I be back, but this will be a regular stop. Yum!

Pretty darn good! Got a craving for some Greek food and Alex’s Greek Café hit the spot! Walked in for dinner and it was moderately crowded(a good sign). Ordered and sat down. Within 10 minutes our food arrived piping hot, fresh off the stove. I ordered the lamb kebabs. It came with a side of delicious seasoned veggies, a Greek salad and rice. The lamb was very good, cooked medium. I prefer medium rare, but no biggie. I’m getting hungry again just thinking about it.

Excellent customer service, and excellent prices. My family each had a gyro lunch special. The meat was perfectly seasoned and very plentiful. The pita was great, and the vegetables were very fresh. The fries were well seasoned with garlic and salt. Really my only issue(and this repeats a comment from below) was with the tzatziki. it was too creamy, and had no bite to it at all. They should be using a hearty Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. It also needed more garlic and probably some wine viniger to move the flavor more to the front. Lastly, there was no cucumber texture to the sauce at all. Fix that issue, and this is a 5-start review. I also had a piece of baklava that for $ 1.50 was a very nice size piece and was very tasty. A lot of comments below are about the time it took to get food. I did not find the wait to be too long. I surely would rather wait a couple of minutes than get food that was either not freshly cooked or that had been rushed through cooking and prep. The detail that was taken on my food made the wait well worth it. This is not a fast food restaurant. It would be like going to a pizza shop and wondering why your fresh made pizza wasn’t sitting in the window in a minute. If time is of the essence, I guess you could call your order in before leaving.

First and foremost, THANKGODWEFINALLYHAVEGREEKFOODINGRAPEVINE!!! We were SO excited to come try Alex’s Greek Café and the best testament I can give is that we went for the first time on Friday and proceeded to eat there again on Saturday and then have it delivered on Sunday. Oh, didn’t you know? THEYHAVEDELIVERY!!! For a new restaurant in a somewhat unusual strip mall, they were totally busy both times we went. It’s a small restaurant, so I felt lucky to snag a table both times that we went in person. They are BYOB, which is always lovely. All the service we’ve had so far, including the delivery, has been extremely friendly. Not a lot of atmosphere in the restaurant — some shades or different lighting would help with that. It would also be nice to just have music instead of the TV playing. As for the food, it’s SO yummy. I’ve been getting the falafel sandwich and my husband has been getting the gyro plate(yes, the same thing all three times because it’s that good!). They are huuuuuuuuggeee pitas overflowing with delicious food, so be prepared. I ordered a hummus appetizer the first time and the baba ghanoush the second time and both times it was a totally unnecessary amount of food. I’m sure we’ll branch out eventually, but for now we are hooked on their delicious, warm pita sammies. With the great prices, friendly service, and the ability to have delicious Greek food delivered directly to my doorstep, I’m officially a super fan of Alex’s Greek Café.
