I parked my car dreaming of another chai tea latte from Mawker’s and realized I had parked in front of a chocolate store! I went in lying to my inner self, saying I will only look. Who goes in a chocolate store and only looks? Minutes later I had purchased a small chocolate bunny, a few truffles for Easter morning and for immediate consumption a chocolate covered strawberry. The strawberry was out of this world good. I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t had one for so long or it was just really that good. I think the latter. Now, hours later, I have opened the Easter candy early and the truffles are good but not as good as Wiseman House chocolate. If you’re in the neighborhood, splurge on a $ 2.25 strawberry. I know the price sounds outrageous but you’d spend that much on a soda and strawberries are full of antioxidants! Easter morning epilogue: Raspberry truffle five stars. Italian Amaretto five stars. Lime truffle: four stars. Grand Marnier 2 stars, all you taste is chocolate really. Orange truffle with white chocolate 2 stars. orange lacked intensity and was lost in the chocolate. Mint truffle… no stars. ick. It was really gross. Corner of chocolate bunny ear: not great and even more so because of the high price. Dove Chocolate is better in the plain chocolate arena. If going for truffles here I’d go with Raspberry and Italian Amaretto. I might do Lime truffles again. Skip anything plain chocolate.
