This place is pretty gross– people smoke inside and it’s pretty dingy. There was only one beer on tap. But… I had to give at least two stars because the band was great and I had a blast okay the dance floor. There are pool tables upstairs. I didn’t try any of the food. Felt like a mix between biker bar and a dive bar. Perhaps if I were a local I would see the«charm» in the smoke clouds, but I am in fact a tourist. ;)

It’s a dive bar. For dive bars it is ok. If you are expecting something else you will be disappointed.

Nice place on a Saturday for lunch, the buffet is a lot better in the lunch time hours. But, the dinner menu is good also, it’s all comfort food and it taste good also. I do have to say out of all the times I’ve eatin here I didn’t know they have pool tables upstairs, go figure.

First time to dine st Wilhoite’s tonight. I give this restaurant 1 star. My guests and I ordered appetizers of fried pickles and chips with salsa with a side of queso. The queso was room temperature. We sent the queso back and received another bowl that was the correct temperature. We ordered dinner with one order being chicken fried steak. The thin beef within the crust was a lovely medium rare with lots of red-tinged beef juice. Ugh. I returned this plate and opted not replace my order. The servers were apologetic, of which I couldn’t fault them for the kitchen mistakes. One of the servers offered a dessert for restitution, I opted for banana pudding to go. The dessert was of average amount but consisted of two sliced bananas and three vanilla wafers with the pudding being of pre-packaged flavor. First visit, last visit. Another concern, the manager on duty was indulging his electronic cigarette out front in full view of patrons.

Divey dive!!! Old crowd, the only thing nice about this place were the bartenders. Unfortunately they can’t change the whole atmosphere here. Creepy guys at every turn that think if you’re there with your girlfriend you’re there for hooking up as well. Odd threesomes on the dance floor. Just not a good scene. Oh and you can smoke inside this bar so be prepared to need a severe shower when you get home.

10 dollar cover charge on a monday night to watch football and drink a beer? Forget that. Wins #1 for most pretentious biker bar in Texas

Don’t know about anyone else but I have found the buffet to be very good. Have not been disappointed on any of my now frequent visits here. Staff has always been very friendly.

We love this place. We like to ride out here on the motorcycle. Bike parking right out front on Main Street. A nice shaded patio. Smoking in and out. We always sit at the bar. Cathy makes a killer Bloody Mary. We only come here for drinks so can’t rate the food. The building has some cool history. Biker friendly.

I give this place a 3-star because I wasn’t there long enough to find out more about this place. t was at the Grapevine Fest last night going through 6 different wines for tasting, and my friends and I needed a sit-down restaurant to get something to eat. And we randomly choose this place, I expected the typical bar food but didn’t expect a $ 10 all-you-can-eat buffet. The food provided wasn’t very extended, only burgers that you put together yourself(only chicken and the beef patties), sausages, fried okra, tator tots, corn, salad, vanilla wafers, ice cream, and cake. The venue had an old rustic feel, almost like a country bar with a «dance floor» that appears that it hasn’t been used for years.

This place has so much potential, but it’s wasted on sub-par food that clearly comes out of a can or freezer. If you have to asthma or don’t like smoke steer clear this place allows smoking.

Depending on who you are and what kind of pretense comes with you to a drinking establishment, Wilhoites can be extremely disgusting or inviting. Wilhoites is like a good friend from college– always a little too loud, always drinking a little too much. It’s somebody you love to go out with, but you couldn’t do it everyday.

DIVEBAR in Grapevine. Very biker-esque. Nothing stood out to me, per usual with a dive bar being limited beer and drink selection. Fun band playing when we went on a Sunday night. Pool table upstairs that we were luck to snag. Not too much seating within the bar but definitely some available. If staying at the Gaylord and want somewhere close-by to grab a drink and chill with coworkers, this place will fancy you just fine.

When trying to decide on stars, it wasn’t until 2 «Meh, I’ve Experienced Better,» appeared that it made sense. I have fond memories of standing between a military man and the pubic to prevent him from taking a swing at a mouthy patron, but I also have fond memories of amazing home cooking. Guess only one of those memories will stand. Arrived around 1P and perused the buffet. Roast beef and green beans were on the menu board outside, also on the buffet line, though it looked like meatloaf and green beans. By the time we went through the line, it was meatloaf and sliced asparagus. Co-worker and I both tried mashed potatoes — not very flavorful. In fact, from her plate she said corn was the best thing and from my plate, I voted for asparagus pieces. Enjoyed jalapeño hushpuppies but still chewy, sausage had been on buffet too long, and substituted meatloaf required — again — too much chewing. Skip the pre-made salads on salad bar since they all taste like they’ve come from a can and go for the cobblers or banana pudding. They may be premade but they remake well. Since we both enjoyed our green salads(though the dressings were not homemade) and the tomato Florentine soup and desserts, we’d love to see a $ 9 soup/salad/dessert option versus $ 9 soup/salad and $ 10 full buffet.

Today was a day of sleet and freezing temps — every place was closed — luckily Wilhoites was open. We were well taken care of by our server(a young man with a tunnel in his ear). The fried pickles rocked, the banana pudding with Nilla wafers was the best I have ever had and the Sweet Tea was perfect. I’m glad we found this place and we will definitely come back if we are again at a Gaylord Texan convention.

I was here for the first time a few years ago on a Saturday night with a group of friends and it was a fun time. I moved away and came back to the area so since I had such a fun time before and raved about it to my partner in crime, we decided to have dinner and drinks there one week night. As soon as we walked in, there were 2 men and a woman seated at a table to the right of the entrance and they couldn’t stop staring. Once I finish this portion of the review, you will understand why I even mention this uncomfortable situation. We were seated and our server took our drink order. No problem with her as she was polite and helpful. As we waited for our drinks, the 3 gawkers were STILL staring and even whispering. I felt like we were in middle school. Jeez! And to my shock, the woman with the 2 men, turned out to be a server.(She had a rockabilly type look.) I don’t know why she felt the need to participate in the gawking and uncomfortable stares at my boyfriend and I, but it was rude. Very rude. I’m stopping the review here as nothing else is worth mentioning when a server is so blatantly disrespectful. I’m sure she wasn’t expecting this uncomfortable incident to be mentioned on Unilocal, but lo and behold here it is.

I’ve been to Wilhoite’s a number of times. For whatever reason, «bikers» seem to like hanging out here. I’m not sure why. It’s kind of annoying having motorcycles come and go as you’re trying to talk to your pal over a beer. Wilhoite’s is a decent bar, as far as bars go. It feels like it’s been around awhile. It has that well-worn feel to it — wooden floors and booths and bar stools. Lots of old signage on the walls. Lots of little different areas; booths, private rooms, little stage off to the side, some weird upstairs areas with pool tables. The food, well, it’s OK. Not great. I’ve done their buffet and a number of menu items. Let’s just say you don’t go here for the great food. You go here for a beer and maybe to shoot pool. There are two pool tables, coin operated. 75 cents a game. These are smaller tables — not regulation, but still fun. Waitresses will come up to check on you and bring you beer, which is nice. Oh –you CAN smoke here, which is a plus. Even cigars. Big plus for me! They also have a patio out front but it’s pretty noisy out there — traffic and bikes coming and going. Well, that’s Wilhoite’s in a nutshell!!!

This was definitely not a classy joint. My husband and I just ended up here because it was close and affordable. We chose to eat out on the patio because the smoke was strong in the restaurant. When the waitress finally arrived at the table she quotes us the wrong drink prices($ 2.75 seemed a little too good to be true), but let us order them anyways. When the drinks came out, we couldn’t even taste the alcohol(probably because there wasn’t any because she charged us $ 2.75). I asked the waitress what she would recommended and she said that they were known for their burgers. She also recommended the buffet. When I got up to check it out, it was obvious that the food had been sitting out for quite awhile. I politely passed and ordered a bacon cheeseburger. My husband ordered the country fried steak. When we got our food, the burger was overcooked and didn’t have any flavor. The only good thing about the burger was the bun. It tasted homemade and had a great taste to it. My husband thought his country fried steak was decent but didn’t have much flavor. All in all, for the price we should have gone to Jake’s Burgers down the street.
