My ring that I bought here over 10 years ago was just rebuilt and had some gorgeous touches done. They do an absolute amazing job and I could not be happier. They take such amazing pride in there work. I thought my ring was breath taking before and now I am jaw dropped how gorgeous it is. Absolutely stunning… Thank you

My experience, I believe was even worse than Marina’s, Michael’s, Cathy’s, Cleo’s and Kelly’s. How I wish I would have read your reviews before being buzzed into this store. I would never have gone in alone. I was there to either get a refund or exchange for a jewelry set. The owner informed me there are no refunds, pointing to the tiny statement at the bottom of the receipt. I finally found a few things, but still needed to find something worth $ 110 to finish the exchange. The owner suggested using it on repairs. It seemed to annoy her when I told her that we have used Stucki’s for over 30 years for all our repairs. She disappeared into the back room an appeared holding a framed photo saying, «For 20 years I was 2 doors down from Stucki’s, didn’t you ever go into my store?» She seemed insulted that I hadn’t.
I was feeling uncomfortable and anxious to find one more item and get out of the store when I saw a little bracelet in the front window display. The glass sliding door was open, so I slid it a couple more inches to just look, not touch it. This sent her into an absolute rage! Her eyes glared into mine as she got in my face and blasted«You have disrespected me, you have disrespected my store… didn’t you read the signs that say do not touch?» I didn’t the jewelry or glass bowls. However she picked up a glass bowl and shook it at me and repeated more of the same. That seemed to open the door the a full blown outburst of anger. She narrowed her mean eyes at me and spat out«You brought a Stucki Jewelers bag into my store!» Then she looked me up and down with disgust for doing so. I had to defend myself and explain I was in town on two errands, the other was to get a ring sized at Stucki’s. Oh help, I was alone in this store, heart pounding and wanted out! I told her to keep the $ 110, put my other exchanges in the bag so I could get out of the store. Instead she went into a rage, glaring and kept repeating«you are psycho, you are really psycho, I am going to call the police! All I have to do is press this button!» Unbelieveable, I should have stepped outside, and called for help, but I wasn’t sure if I needed to be «buzzed out» by her as I was buzzed in. I was a bit in shock wanted to finish the transaction and never return. Instead of finishing up and letting me go, she stood staring at me and fumed she was in business 20 years. I told her we were too and she demanded I tell her where and what kind of business. When told we had a sheet metal business, she looked at me in utter disgust and spewed«I have something that you are going to look at!». I waited in silence at the counter, finding myself being controlled by her verbal abuse and refusal to bag the merchandise. She disappeared into the back room again this time returneing with a homemade poster. She stood next to me demanding«you will look at this poster, you will look at this poster! See what you have done, see what you have done!!.» What have I done? I glanced at the homemade poster with pictures of trees and people. Then a very long cold silent stare and more threats to call the police. For what I don’t know. Then twice she says«you are psycho, you are really psycho». By this time I am physically shaking, heart racing, in shock and disbelief having my character and business attacked. Completely confused as to why this is all happening. Next came a strange and angry rant claiming, «I have have god, you don’t have god!» Scowling at me she finally methodically put each piece of jewelry in a box and finally in a bag and handed me a refund of $ 110. As I waited at the counter for her to hand over the bag she scolded me «Don’t you ever come back here again unless you have a better attitude and you have god!» As I made my way to the door she took one last opportunity to yell«I have god, you don’t, and don’t every come back here unless you have god!». Speechless, traumatized, nauseous, attacked, heart racing I walked back to my car. Its been 5 days since my encounter and it is still affecting me. I still can’t make any sense of it. There are many small businesses in Grass Valley that are run by kind, hard working people. We will continue to shop local. FYI: I am an older lady that has lived here since 1978, and supported local business, and youth. We are members of California Chamber of Commerce. This is my first post on Unilocal. I would not give this place one star, but was necessary to post here.

Rude service! After asking about their art pieces the«lady» must have been annoyed at me and said I should look elsewhere. OK then, gladly.

After using Unilocal to find a place to repair my dad’s watch(he passed away so it is priceless to me) I was sent here. I had to be «buzzed» in which I found completely off putting. After explaining why I was there the lady behind the counter never said a word to me. She went back to her paperwork. Just as I was ready to leave she asked why I thought she could fix the watch. I told her I used Unilocal and she was listed. She said«What is this Unilocal you are talking about?» I showed it to her on my iPhone and she said«Well isn’t that interesting?» as though Unilocal was just a big ploy to spy on her. She let me know she couldn’t fix the watch because it takes a certain kind of tool to remove the back and she didn’t have the tool. The whole thing was a very negative experience. As I left she did tell me that one of the pieces was done by an artist with MS which was interesting to hear but again the atmosphere is very off putting and you don’t feel welcome from the moment you have to push a buzzer to get in until she walks you to the door to make sure it is closed. Who is she trying to keep out?

ZERO– Apparently This is a ‘whites only’ jewelry store. Yesterday a friend of mine was asked to leave; why… maybe because he was the only black dude in town. If you do find yourself in or near this store, please tell the owner that good, jewelry wearing and buying people come in many different shades!

I rate this store a ZERO. I went in for the first time and wanted a quote from them to do a custom ring. I did not have my diamond on me, but just wanted to get an estimate of how much a certain design would cost. It was my first time in this store and I came from out of town. With that, she(the owner) started drilling me with some questions of why I was there and that led to accusing me of trying to steal her designs and put her out of business. Crazy! That is all that I have to say. Crazy! I was just trying to support a business in a town that I grew up in.

Of course, taste in art is subjective and I rate a gallery mostly on the art it carries. Should I spend my time browsing here or not? For me the pieces in this gallery were bordering on hideous. Mostly glass work and jewelry when I went yesterday. And the selection is very limited. I much preferred the Mowen Solinsky gallery in Nevada City, just a few minutes drive away. Two elderly ladies came in as customers and were surprised that the place was open. They said that everytime that they passed the place before, it had been closed(or so they thought bc the lights were off). The clerk(probably the owner) curtly explained that just because the lights were off didn’t mean that the place was closed(in an incredulous tone) and next time they should just ring the bell if they want to come in. To me that’s a weird way to run a shop and it is not welcoming.
