We heard rats or mice in the walls of our 6 year old home. A rat gnawing on the woodwork sounds like the house is being remodeled, and it probably is. I set a few small spring traps and caught a couple of mice, but some traps were sprung and empty. I put out rat traps and sticky traps. These were also sprung and avoided. In a mere two nights something chewed three holes in the seal of my garage door($ 150 repair) and a hole in the drywall in the garage. I called a part-time exterminator recommended by a friend. He found no sign of active rodents. We heard gnawing in the walls again. I called Economy Pest Control. My rate was to be $ 210 for the first month and $ 85/mon if it took longer. This may seem like a lot, but a rat can do a lot of expensive damage very quickly. EPC sent out Kelly within the week. He directed my attention to numerous entry points and rodent trails that I hadn’t noticed and advised plugging the holes. They don’t do this work, so you may have to hire an odd-jobs contractor. I plugged them myself. Kelly set out spring traps and sticky traps. My rat(s) proved up to the challenge. It sprung the spring traps and chewed its way out of the large sticky traps. Each week EPC sent out a different young man, Kelly, Bryce, and Matt, all very personable and knowledgeable. Evidence of a rat and sprung traps was found in the subspace and the attic over the garage, with communication between them via the interior electrical and plumbing soffits. Bryce plugged holes in the subspace and set out more spring traps and sticky traps. Another hole could be seen in the roof of the attic. The agents were not allowed to work on the unfloored rafters of the attic, so I plugged the hole and cut a tree branch that was overhanging the house. At the end of week five, we returned from a trip out of town and found a dead rat in the subspace, apparently the victim of concussion from a sprung trap. Bryce set out more traps and returned a week later to verify that the house was clear. It is clear to me that it is important to eliminate invasive rodents as soon as possible, but even more important to seal them off from the house. At this writing, the house has been clear for over a month – no new droppings, no new tracks, no gnawing or scampering noises. EPC charged me only for the first month. Given the number of trips required, their fee was very reasonable. They come when you call. They stick with the job. They follow up. Should the need arise, I will definitely hire them again.

We had carpenter bees eating away the roof of our pig shed. Economy Pest and Malachi were excellent in helping me solve the problem. They were able to come out very quickly to take care of the problem before we brought in new weaners. I now have piles of huge dead black carpenter bees! Economy pest went above and beyond in helping me, and we even had them treat some wasp problems at our other home. They are very professional, very reasonable. They don’t push you to do more than you want done and treat their customers very well. Even us one time take care of the problem types!

This is an exceptionally good service provided at a reasonable price, and run by good, honest folks. I have the program where they just stop by once a month and keep things under control. I noticed a small nest of bugs out in my back yard the other day, and when I called about it they sent someone right over to identify and clear up the problem with no extra charge. I recommend them 100%.
