I’ve been a patient of Byron and Neva for over 15 years. Byron has always listened to my concerns, has been professional and willing to take the time that is required. This is where the good ends.
His Medical Assistant Heather, and manager Stephanie are always, 100% without fail, incredibly rude. These two are always unwilling to leave a phone message for my doctor, and are often unwilling to follow the orders given my by doctor. Very unprofessional.
While I feel that my medical care has been adequate over the years, I can’t help but feel that this practice’s faith takes first place over science. For instance, they absolutely will not prescribe birth control (to ANYBODY). Also, last year I consulted my doctor about PrEP (Pre exposure prophylaxis for HIV — basically a life saving, HIV preventing drug). I was given an overwhelming «NO! We can’t prescribe that due to moral grounds!». MORAL GROUNDS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Also, I’m given a shameful attitude each and every time I ask for an HIV test.
It is completely inappropriate for a physician to put his religious beliefs before SCIENCE.
Fortunately, Dr. Lake no longer accepts my insurance and I’m happily off to find a more progressive physician that makes my HEALTH their #1 priority.
