DONOTGOHERE, they discriminate against people with disabilities and very rude the way they go about it! Very inhuman! Even on a bad day you don’t treat anybody like that. Definitely don’t even deserve the one star.

I was a kid in a candy store. This place is totally awesome! Fun interior design with a good use of space. Plus tons of different kinds of candy and ice cream. Get ready to get your sugar rush on! Right when you walk in there to the left is a huge Jelly Belly self serve assortment. There are a couple bistro table and chairs. Keep moving along the left wall, there are molded chocolates and gift baskets along with nostalgic by gone hard to get candies. After that is the wall of taffy, self serve. That brings you to the back where the ice cream parlor is. There are tables and chairs. Besides the scooped ice cream, they have frozen chocolate bananas, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars… and so on. Get this … they even have doggy pup-sicles. What… I didn’t even mention the right side of the shop yet. The right side contains the glass counter of homemade chocolates sold by the individual weight. They even have sugar free chocolates. My favorites are the almond dark chocolate toffee and sea salt dark chocolate peanut butter cups. Also towards the front right near the cashier are tons of glass jars filled with hard candy. The right side is not self serve, the associates will help you. I don’t know the ordering protocol because when I went, there was no line. But in a blink of an eye, it got busy. Hubs did order one scoop of ice cream on a sugar cone. The scoop was a bit wimpy though and not cheap. I noticed the other gal was a bit stronger and her scoops were larger. Oh well. Anyway, besides the inconsistent ice cream scooping… I adore this shop. All the staff are pleasant and helpful. Service with a smile.

We were visiting the area and found Lazy Dog. Some of the best ice cream I have ever had — the PB&J was scrumptious! They also have a fantastic selection of chocolates and candy. My husband picked up some chocolate covered Oreos and Nutter Butters, and some licorice Scotties and Cinnamon Bears. Very nice people too!

My husband said that when he dies, he wants to go to this store look for him because that is his idea of Heaven. Tons of old-fashioned candies, especially liquorice, plus gndmade chocolates and truffles. Then there’s the ice cream section with gelato and hand dipped ice cream bars. Yum!

Could not get service on a Wednesday night. Waited 10 minutes. Finally walked out. They didn’t even apologize for the lack of help. Sad.

Lazy Dog never fails to delight us when we visit Grass Valley. It’s a beautiful and cheery space that smells heavenly. The staff is always so gracious and patient, which is extremely important for someone like me who goes a bit stupid in the presence of so much chocolate. They are always willing to gift wrap your selection which makes this a great place to pick up something special for folks back home if you’re traveling or for yourself because hey … let’s face it … sometimes an adorably wrapped bag of ooey gooey goodness is what we all need!

A really nice ice cream and chocolate shop. Reminds of me of when I was a kid and there was one in every town.

I have been here a few times and always walked away with a lot of good treats($$) but tonight I came in for some milk chocolate honey comb, and was so disappointed to see that 6 out of the 7 pieces I got were obviously older pieces they tasted stale and the honeycomb lacked that crunch you expect when you bite it. There was one fresh piece(in the picture) and the rest I didn’t even eat :(it was a bummer because I paid 5 $ for it and only got to enjoy one piece. I don’t think I’ll ever get honey comb again…

I went in looking for a chocolate elephant for a white, well brown elephant gift. Guess what, they had one! What a great store. Love their ice cream on a stick… licorice with milk chocolate. Yum. The folks who work there are always friendly and helpful.

Lazy dog is a perfect place for a sweet treat. It’s a creamery as well as a candy store. They have gelato as well. Try one of the homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Clean and bright cute shop with a killer front window display, friendly staff, and great(late night) hours. Lots of choices, but I was sad at the quality of their chocolate. For perspective, this is nowhere as good as See’s. It tastes like they are using cheap ingredients. Hopefully they will rethink this and invest in better. I feel like an asshole saying this, but honestly hope it will help the owners to hear.

This is my favorite spot in town for a tasty treat. Their ice cream bars and drumsticks are my favorite but everything in here looks and tastes amazing. Also, the décor is adorable and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s a no brainer — lazy dog is AWESOME.

Lazy Dog is a must every time we visit Grass Valley. The chocolate is to die for, the array of choices is unbeatable, and the charm of the location, interior, and friendly staff brings this place over the top. It’s a little bit magic.

Visited this charming, old fashioned candy store over the weekend. I was quite impressed with overall store layout and with the warm and personalized customer service. I felt like a young girl again. My son was in ahhh. We enjoyed a scoop of ice cream. I ordered mocha almond ice cream fudge and Josh enjoyed bubble gum. We sat and enjoyed our surroundings while Charlie & The Chocolate Factory played on the TV. Very nice experience and my sweet tooth was satisfied

This place is a gem. The premade ice cream bars are out of this world. I got the vanilla bar with dark chocolate and nuts. The chocolate has the right thickness and vanilla ice cream is perfect. The best part of this bar is that it’s rock solid frozen, not mushy and drippy. I hate when my ice cream is already melting before I get to the middle of the stick and everything is coming apart. You know what I mean, the chocolate shell falls on the ground and ice cream drips down your hand. You’re hurrying to finish and not enjoying. Yuck! You don’t get that with the lazy dog bar. In fact they have a small paper plate/tray to catch all the goodness.

YUM. That says it all. I defy any sentient being to enter and not be completely overwhelmed by all the delicious choices. Organic ice cream, gelato, hand made ice cream sandwiches and chocolate robed ice cream bars. Chocolates and all kinds of candy. Loved it.

This is a cute lil place. The first 2 cases are hand made in store daily. They also have a sugar-free case as well. They have a cotton candy machine in store which wAs cool to watch it being Made FRESH. The ladies that work here are so sweet. Like your own grandma is serving your type experience. Will come back when in town again

A fun to go in and look around place. Smells delicious. A huge assortment of all kinds of candies, ice cream, gifts and even a treat for your four legged friend! Very 50’s style done in pink! pink! pink! yet, not overly so. Cute l’ill table, two chairs, sitting outside, soda shop style. Love the mustache suckers LOL
