Wonderful coffee shop! Just the right atmosphere for conversation and a cup, out of the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city. Owner Sandy is awesome! I left my computer there and she called me after hours to let me know it was safe and sound. Go there!

I was in the area so I decided to stop. It was my first time going and I got a spicy hot chai and it tasted just like spicy milk without the chai part. It was bland and no flavor in it at all. I don’t think I’ll stop by again.

Great coffee! Super nice people… found just by chance and highly recommend! It was closed but we got lucky because tonight they are hosting an open mic night.

I’m not a regular coffee drinker. In fact, the only«coffee» drink I ever have is an ice-blended, frappuccino, or whatever else you want to call it. Here they call it «Eskimocha». At first taste I was totally addicted. I’ve never tasted an ice-blended as flavorful, delicious, thick and decadant as their Eskimocha. Their secret is that they use ice cream in it — makes all the difference in the world. It’s probably a bazillion calories, so I’m thankful I no longer live in northern California to keep me away from them. Now, I get a mocha ice blended from The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and just dream of the days of the Eskimocha. Absolutely the best coffee drink I have ever had by far. They are pricey, but everything is pricey in Grass Valley. It’s just life.

Stopped and got some French Roast, it was burnt and a little bland. May try again when I can get there earlier to catch fresh coffee.

Lately, I’ve not been enjoying this place. I go here whenever my internet is down at my house, and need to use internet. Thanks to the two guys who park their butts here and play online video games all freaking day, the internet is extremely slow. It takes literally 5 minutes to open up my email, no joke. It’s ridiculous. Secondly, I think their coffee drinks are a bit overpriced. Over 5 bucks for a medium almond milk latte? That’s a bit much. Also, there’s always some idiot talking politics and thinking their opinion on politics is revolutionary. Give me a break. And, yes I’m crabby. Sierra Mt Coffee Roasters brings out the crab in me.

Love this place. Sandy runs a great shop! Coffee is roasted the right way. Never burned. Great atmosphere. Good gluten free snacks. Frittata always good. Buy a bag of beans. They rule.

Either this is some of the best coffee I have ever had, or a weekend after camping and drinking instant coffee is making me biased. Surprisingly she was open on Memorial day. The owner was really friendly, we enjoyed the short conversation we had with her. If I lived here I would love to come hang out here, drink coffee, and read a few books. Skip the Charbucks(Starbucks) down the street, and search a little harder for the good stuff.

Simply said: service sucked. The place felt crammed with junk and uncomfortable. I had to ask for the scone I ordered twice before I got it because the girl at the register was super busy chatting with her coworker.

Good coffee and a good atmosphere. Though more dessert than coffee, their blended frozen mocha is very tasty. Cozy atmosphere in the attached used bookstore with places to sit and talk with others but also quiet spots to get work done. When I want a coffee shop to read or work, this is where I go.

A coffee shop by definition is a friendly place. Not this one… I’m not sure they even notice when a customer walks in. Coffee is average, service below average. No experience with the food. I prefer What’s Up Coffee just down the street.

I love the bookstore. I don’t totally love the coffee shop. The people are nice and it’s a nice place to sit with friends. The coffee isn’t out of this world though, And they don’t have good soy milk. If you are there in the morning, they make food and it smells like onions.

Truly the last of its kind. This is a kind of place the beatniks wrote about. Books everywhere and a cozy vibe. Oh and their coffee is AMAZING! I wish I lived closer but will get a pound of whole beans if I ever go this way again.

Oh my, Oh my! The best coffee I’ve ever had in my LIFE! Well, maybe that’s a little dramatic, but nonetheless, amazing coffee. Though I don’t live in Grass Valley anymore, I make sure that I have enough of their coffee in my freezer to last me awhile. My husband and I also got many of our friends hooked on the stuff… every time we head up the hill, our friends ask us to get a pound or two. My favorite blends would be House and Guatemala. They have YUMMY pastries that are made fresh by their staff. And they offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and lunch items(quiche, salads, sandwiches, etc.). I also love that the coffee shop hooks up to a bookstore where they hold events… like salsa lessons, readings, and I believe live music. I truly miss the community feeling that saturated the Grass Valley area and I 110% miss Sierra Mountain! =(

If I could get SMCR’s french roast in San Diego, it would be the only coffee I ever drank. :)

This place was so darling. On Friday night my boyfriend played a show inside the book portion of Sierra Mountain Coffee Roasters. I was blown away that a place so cute would open their doors to a bunch of crazy young punk kids, and I’m very glad that everything went smoothly. I didn’t really spend much time in the café section, but I was able to browse their awesome selection of used books. I can’t wait to come back and check it out under normal circumstances, there were some real gems at decent prices.

Of course, during my visit to GV I had to go here; needed my Decaf Viennese beans. But… I also bought a Blackberry Muffin and let me tell you… FREAKINGAMAZING!!! It was the best muffin I’ve ever had. Ever. EVER. Bought four(at $ 3.50 a pop) to bring home.

I love Sierra Mountain. It’s weird, it’s in an industrial weird location, it’s next to a man-antique store and a hunting shop and car mechanics. But it’s got a great book selection of used books to browse, all my fave girls work there, and they all have great attitudes and give me EXACTLY the bagel I was dreaming of. The coffee here is delicious too. Their espresso is yummy and perfect but sometimes the machine isn’t consistent. I don’t care, I love the atmosphere too much to care. Tom Waits would probably love it here.
