Love this store, they do great work on amps and guitars. Great prices, friendly, practical advice. I am very pleased this store is here. Always satisfied with repairs and purchases. Just got my 82 fender jazz bass setup here. They did a great job, fast service, friendly, compassionate. The repair work is always spot on, under budget and I feel like they take it seriously, which is important for musical equipment. Buying an amp was a great experience as well.

So glad we have a store around here with this selection!

Dismissive and disrespectful. It feels like you need to be a straight, white man to even get acknowledged in here. Let that gear sit unsold.

Lets discuss the update from 4 to 5 stars this week. There is no better guitar shop, owner (Bill) or tech (Brian) in Nevada County than Soundcheck. They can build you a guitar from scratch with great new or vintage parts, and get you anything you want for less than most including a good selection on the floor, they are very well priced, and just awesome people. This is a great place to just hang out for an hour (they are always busy, but… its a nice hang spot).
I play gigs here and there with a friends band up in Grass Valley and Nevada City, so i need a good local shop where i can get strings, repairs, etc. I was introduced to soundcheck music as they have a good selection of accessories and a fair selection of nice guitars.
Well… I fell in love with a couple they had in stock and purchased both over the past year. I’m a bass player so getting me to buy a guitar (yet two) is out there, but the pricing and selection was so good, i couldn’t say no.
Bill also took care of my Warwick bass to get it ready for a huge event Saturday night and also found «in stock» some very hard to find parts for my Fender Strat (pic in the gallery).
I’d highly recommend them to anyone who needs parts or repairs in the Sierra Foothills. Its worth the drive from as far as Sacramento or Reno. I drive from SF for service. Check, check, 1−2−3?
