This place was good! I was down in the area from Seattle on vacation and was looking for a place open later in the evening and this was it. Really friendly service. Ordered the crab cakes and clam chowder. They weren’t the best I’ve ever had for sure, but both were quite good and I left satisfied and happy.

Sadly Bennet’s in Grayland has closed. The ambiance was amazing and the food and service was wonderful and Bennet’s will be greatly missed both by those that live Locallg and the many visitors this area gets :-(

A for effort and presentation. C for execution. Food looked great but tasted bland. Also overpriced for the quality. Wine was also overpriced at $ 11 a glass for local wine. Good atmosphere and great service but wished the food would have been better prepared. Halibut was over cooked and Chicken Fried Steak was tough and too thick. White gravy needed some flavor, the vegetables were the best feature… perfectly steamed and tasty!

Amazing food??? Where have you people been eating??? This place is in need of a Resturants Impossible makeover. Service was horrible and food sub par. the prices are 2015 but menu and décor 1960s. Waited 30 mins. For a salad that was from a bag with 2 cherry tomatoes! Cup of calm chowder? $ 3.50 try half a cup and was so thick spoon stuck straight up. I’ll pass on this place.

—not kid friendly– no kids menu no crayons. I was told by locals this place was kid friendly it is not. The amount of money you pay does not match up to the service that you get. Our server seem to want to rush us out. The service is very lackluster. The food was standard, but the service was bad.

After reading quite a few positive reviews, we decided to stop by the next time we were in the area. Wouldn’t you know it, but that happened to be Valentines Day, probably their busiest day of the year. First, the food; in a word, awesome. My Wife and I both had a special, Macadamia nut encrusted Halibut, and it was perfect. So many people smother the taste of the fish with unnecessary sauces or over cook, but this was neither. The sides were very well done, and all totaled, this meal would have easily compared with anything at twice the price in Seattle or Bellevue. On the service, it was almost as good as the food. I have read another reviewer complaining about multiple servers, and we had at least one other in addition to our waitress stop by, but I saw it as nothing but an establishment trying to take care of their customers. A gentleman who I assume was the owner also stopped by our table at least twice, asking after us, and entertaining a few of our questions. Everyone we met here was nothing but helpful and polite. I would rank Bennetts five-stars all day long. The people of Westport/Grayland have a good thing going with a place like this.

Don’t get the clam chowder here. It was a thickened sauce that jiggled like Jello. I had a potato with my main dish and they put the same style sauce on it. They crab cakes were average. Don’t go here go somewhere else up or down the beach. The two other people that I was with also agreed that they would not be coming back.

The food was excellent but the service was bad. It was a packed house and they just couldnt handle it. There just seemed to be no staff coordination. I couldnt even get a glass of water. We ended up having three different people wait on us and we had no idea why.

Amazing food and service every time! I live almost next door to the new restaurant San Verbena in Tokeland and I would recommend everyone to Bennett’s.

We arrived here and were not even greeted by the staff. We waited to be seated and have been sitting here for over an hour and a half. We literally haven’t even got our food yet. The service is terrible. The staff sucks. The only reason anyone should even attempt to come here is for the food. Which I can’t even tell you how that is cause we haven’t even had our meal.

I have absolutely NOIDEA why some people complain about this place — whether it be slow service or «not that great» food, because THISPLACEISAMAZING! I’ve been here 5 times on 3 different occasions. The first time was amazing, and I couldn’t wait to come back to visit my grandparents’ beach house just to go here. It wasn’t for another like 2 – 3 years that I got to come back and again(last year), it was fantastic. So, given the chance to come back for the 4th of July this year — I was ecstatic. The results??? STILLAMAZING! I honestly don’t know how the complainers could possibly have issues with this place. On this trip, we went to Bennett’s 3 times over a course of 5 days — each visit was equally great. I can’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant where I could eat the entire steak without steak sauce. Their steak is insanely good. The only thing better than the steak is knowing you get to eat desert afterwards… and I’m telling you the Bennett’s Beach Berry Blast is the best piece of cake I’ve probably had in my life. Seriously. I even called in a pick up order on our last day in Grayland just to get a Berry Blast to share with the family before we left. If you’re anywhere near Grayland for any reason, you have to go here. Don’t listen to the bad reviews or the indifferent ones. The prices are good, the service is good(or at the absolute worst, average), and the food is superb. I look forward to many more visits to come in my life. I hope this place never changes.

Had a party of 9. It took at least 20 minutes just to get our drink order. Another half an hour to take our order, and after another 45 minutes after ordering, we asked an ETA on our food, they hadn’t even started them yet. We kept hearing excuses, never an apology or a rush to fix it. We told them to cancel, and some of us would leave. The manager who was checking on certain tables, never even acknowledged us or the issue. After still being charged for the drinks and appetizer soups, we were treated HORRIBLY by our server, and only got a half-assed rude apology as she ripped the signed receipt out of our hands. We asked for a manager, and all he did was look at us and walk away. The other restaurant we ended up going to said they’re usually good on non-holiday weekends. Maybe if they would’ve tried rectifying their terrible service, I would maybe try again. But I will NOT be going back.

Was driving up to Westport with my girlfriend and stopped here for lunch. I was not disappointed! The food was delicious! I ordered halibut and chips, she ordered the clam chowder and crab cakes. Everything was great! The clam chowder was especially delicious; probably the best I’ve ever had! The fries were exceptional too! Service wasn’t bad as well. It was pretty quiet so we were seated, served, and brought the check quickly. All the servers were kind and courteous. No complaints! The atmosphere was classy and quiet too!

One of the best clam chowders I’ve ever had. Came here after going clamming at Twin Harbor. wasn’t sure what to expect. We ordered a bowl of the chowder, crab cake appetizer, and a dozen fried oysters to share. Everything was SOOOO delicious and the service was excellent. I’m thinking about driving down here next weekend(and i’m coming from Renton so that goes to show how good it is!!!). Needless to say, i’m a huge fan. I LOVEIT!

I would drive 3 hours just to eat here. The last time I ate here was 5 years ago. To start off this place doesn’t look as great as it tastes. The service is beyond 5 stars and the caliber of food this place makes deserves a Michelin star. They made my experience even better 5 years later. Your probably wondering. What about the food ! Well you just need to eat here because it’s the PEOPLE, Food and the Place that truly make this one of Washington finest dining experience.

We got here as soon as they opened on a Sunday morning. We were the only people here. The wait staff was not very attentive. The food was good we had the special; clam chowder, ½ crab melt and chicken salad. The chowder and crab melt was good. If I come back I would be happy by passing the salad and going for the full sandwich. Two couples left while we were here because of the inattentive wait staff.

re: 09/29/2013 Visit We found this restaurant on our way to our hotel from the casino. Our group was 6+ people so we expected the service charge to be added to our bill. However, we didn’t get the service we paid for! Upon our arrival, we didn’t wait very long to be seated, which was pleasantly received by our party. The gentleman seating us was friendly and delightful. We left wishing he had been our server from start to finish! We hope he received a larger portion of the tip! Our waitress took our order with ease and patience. But, perhaps, shouldn’t have given us the platter of warm bread after we’ve already consumed our chowder. Bringing out the bread was pointless… it was a little disappointing not to have the bread to enjoy with our soup. Made worse by the fact that we weren’t provided small saucers to make it easier to spread butter and enjoy the bread. It was a little uncomfortable for some eating off their napkins. Other guest had saucers while our party didn’t. Yes, we could have asked for plates, but our server was no longer attentive after she delivered our soups. I asked for a small platter, which I never received. Establishment lost business because of her lack of attention. Our family orders desserts but because of our server’s lack of attention we didn’t order and left feeling disappointed with the experience. We visit Westport every year during the fishing season and travel with different groups each time. Because we enjoyed the food we may return, but, we won’t be bringing friends or recommending this place to anyone anytime soon. Here’s information you may find useful: –One of the Best Clam Chowder around –Steaks cooked to perfection –Delicious Fresh Salmon Entrees –Bread Rolls are sweet and warm(not hard)

Me and my friend from Maine were camping along the coast. We decided to have lunch at Bennett’s Fish Bar in Westport. We got got crab cakes and halibut fish & chips. The crab cakes were good… a great value for the price. The halibut was OK. We really wished we would have got the cod. We decided to camp in Grayland and noticed there was a Bennett’s there too. We figured we could get the cod fish & chips there. Nope, only halibut. So, we were kind of bummed out. The waitress came to our table and told us the specials; cioppino was one of the options. As we mulled it over, an order of cioppino was delivered to the next table and we knew we were going try it. It was somewhat pricey($ 25) but was loaded with halibut, clams, mussels, and shrimp. It was topped with a ¼ of crab meat. And it was delicious!!! We both thought the food was excellent at both the locations were we dined. Both places were packed(one for lunch and one for dinner) and under staffed. I thought the wait staff did the best they could considering the large number of patrons. It took a while to get our meal but me and my friend had lots of catching up to do and didn’t really notice. My only complaint: we asked the waitress if she could snag some meatloaf scraps for my 5 pound dog, Fang. She blew us off.

The seafood alfredo is heaven, as is the pasta primavera! The portion size is enough to feed a small army, so prepare for leftovers(tip: reheat leftover cream-sauce pasta in a pan with a little milk and butter and you’ll recreate the magic instead of ending up with curdled sauce and greasy noodles). The meatloaf is really good, too. The clam chowder is great. The crab louie and shrimp salads are the best I’ve had! I’ve always thought the onion loaf was over-rated and greasy. If it helps: the owner is himself quite a dish and he usually comes out and talks to people!
