I had a wonderful stay at the Walsh Motel! I have stayed twice now, and I really liked the retro yet clean feel of the rooms. The views are great, one can see the ocean from nearly every window. The rooms themselves are laid out well with either nicely arranged kitchenettes, or a mini fridge and coffee pot if not kitchenette. The beds are nice and comfy with clean linens and extra pillows! Bonus – The bathrooms have jacuzzi tubs! I really enjoyed taking a jacuzzi after a day of freezing my buns off charter fishing on the ocean. Walsh features easy beach access where I found lots of shells and sand dollars. The motel managers at Walsh, a husband and wife, are kind and pleasant, and knowledgable about the area. Westport is only about a 10 minute drive, and they have some small shops, a lighthouse, a couple restaurants and since its a working port, a busy fishing market to watch! I would recommend the Walsh motel to anyone looking to do some antiquing in Grayland, clam digging, charter fishing in Weastport or just looking for a relaxing getaway!

Little cottages right off the main road through Grayland, and a short walk to the beach. We stayed in a cottage with two queen sized beds. It had a mini-fridge, microwave, tiny coffee maker, TV, and little bathroom with a shower. Free wifi is included, however, it was down about 50% of our time there, and not very fast. The room was a little shabby, built during the 1950s and likely not updated since then. The carpet was a little worn but not bad, although it did smell quite musty. We were in a nonsmoking room but clearly some cigarettes had been lit in the recent past, and likely many in the distant past. You could smell old smoke, especially as the room warmed up. With all the windows open, though, it wasn’t too bad or mildewy. The room was clean-ish, although I found some dirt and old food near the bottom of the bed when we arrived, so it hadn’t been cleaned too meticulously. There is no housekeeping during your stay unless you pay an extra $ 10, so count on yourself to keep it clean. The sheets and linens were old and had cigarette burns in several spots, and could have used a replacement. Towels were clean, though, as was the bathroom. It is tiny, and a single person space. If you’re very tall or, um, broad, you probably won’t fit in the shower at all. It is a stand-up stall and with the curtain closed is just roomy enough to turn around in, but if you bend over part of you will be sticking out the side. The manager was friendly and kind. The office is only open from 9 am to 4 pm, and often the manager isn’t there during those times. There’s a key drop, but if you need to be let into your room, you might want to make sure someone is there before you arrive. I’d suggest calling. Some cabins are individual units, while others have two conjoined rooms. The walls are thin, so if you’ve got neighbors, hope that they’re quiet and don’t arrive in the middle of the night. There’s a small play structure if you have kids. No breakfast available, and no restaurants in town, so make sure to bring your own food. There’s a minimart next door for a few supplies, but no grocery store within about 15 miles, so stock up. Overall, the place was kind of clean, pretty quiet, and conveniently located by the beach. Compared with the other properties in town, it’s as good or perhaps better than anything else available, so it’s not a bad bet.

Manger was nice, stayed in ocean front room on second floor. Room was exactly what we expected, nothing fancy but was clean and warm. If I have to visit grayland again this will be the place I will stay.

As another previous reviewer stated, this place is by no means«fancy» per say, but it serves it’s purpose as a cozy Washington beach side motel very well! I stayed in one of the upper level beachfront rooms and it was very clean and the view of the beach and ocean was fantastic. Also, the manager was a cool guy and very helpful. I’d gladly recommend this place to anyone, especially for a more laid back, quiet beach getaway. I’ll definitely come back and stay here!

If you’re looking for posh digs, this ain’t the place, but we enjoyed a weekend here, just for the solitude. We had an ocean front room with a jacuzzi tub(useful for warming up after strolls on the brisk oceanfront), the bed was comfortable, everything in the room worked, and the desk clerk was very accomodating and helpful in pointing out the local places, and making recs. A good place to get away from quiet contemplation or romance. Small market next to entrance with limited hours. Many restaurants within 10 minute drive.
