simple, satisfying food and casual atmosphere. Pizzas were good, but slightly soggy. I would cook a little longer for a crispy crust. Servers were attentive and friendly.

Had the BBQ chicken pizza. The sauce was tangy and not overly heavy. One of the best flat bread za’s I’ve had. As far as the beer selection is concerned, I would have like to see pale ale available. I was so full after dinner, I wanted a lighter beer.

This is the second time I have been here. It is even better than last time! The specialty pizzas are awesome! Two people could split, but a person could eat one for themselves if the are hungry enough. The blt, spinach and feta, and bbq chicken were all on point and full of flavor. They have quite a few of their own beers on tap, plus a number of other high qualities from around the state, or country. Service was good as well. Also, the attached gift shop has some cool art and other swag. If you make it to, of through Grayling, you have to stop in!

Had a bad experience at another brew pub an we were delighted to find this place. It’s a bit small compared to what we are used to but that made it more fun. They had a half dozen offerings made on site and at least another dozen on tap. We tried the pretzels for an appetizer and the flat bread pizza. Got acquainted with the local patrons and met«Dave the owner». Super friendly and eager to talk and tell their story. Plans to expand into a larger building he just bought. Great idea! Stop in any you will enjoy.

Delicious pizza! I had the Poseidon with goad cheese and kalamata olives. Pizza was nice and light, almost ate the whole thing myself. Also tried the Paddle Hard Lincoln Copper Ale, it was a smooth wheat.

This is a cool little brewery. Some of their own brews and a variety of selections from other Michigan brewers. Give this place a try, you’ll like it. Down to earth. Not pretentious. Friendly staff. Enjoy!

Nice atmosphere, but slow service. Overpriced for what we had, but the food was good. Most of the menu consists of their flatbread pizzas — super thin crust, with different toppings. Mine had goat cheese, garlic, red onion, pistachio and I think basil. Anyway, it was tasty, but not worth $ 14, especially without meat on it. My friend had beef tacos, two small tacos with a small handful of tortilla chips and salsa — no wonder he was still hungry after eating — and the salsa was something that came out of a jar, for sure. Ugh. A restaurant that isn’t a Taco Bell loses cred in my eyes when they can’t use fresh salsa. Good selection of Michigan beers. And there is a cool little wine shop adjacent to this place where we got free tastings, and I bought two nice bottles to take home. Didn’t get pictures of the food, as it was too dark inside. They also had a small 3-piece band that started playing just as we left, which was cool. Good place for a beer and maybe a snack, but if you want a real dinner, look elsewhere.

Good house beers, really like the Pumpkin Pie, and good selection of Michigan crafts. Had the mashed potato and bacon flatbread pizza, more than enough for two. Will come again if in the area.

Microbrewery with a great vibe in downtown Grayling. Fun interior and outdoor seating. Flatbread was awesome! Worth a stop.

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The inside is super cute and they also have some great picnic tables if you’d prefer some outdoor seating. The mean is small, but it looks like they are more known for their pizza although I didn’t get to try one unfortunately! I ordered the cinnamon crunch beer(I think thats what I was called) I thought I liked it at first, but I had a hard time finishing it, it was just ok… I would like to try more of their beers though! I thought it was really neat the way they had their beer list displayed on tv screens. You could see if the keg was low, or about to run out. I ordered the salmon sliders to eat and they were good as well! Enjoyed everything and will stop back next time I’m in the area.

Stopped here in our way home from Traverse City. The patio and people are super dog friendly. There were water bowls by the picnic tables and our dog Cinnamon got a warm welcome. My fiancé and I spilt the jerk chicken tacos and the chorizo pizza. Both very really good and spicy. The pie stood out because of the ricotta and mint. I didn’t have any beer but the ice tea was really good. It’s nice to find a place to eat in Grayling either before or after hitting I75. The great, dog friendly service and food will definitely bring me back.

compared to the other«brewery» in town, this place is the winner hands down. first of all their brews were very tasty. had the shandy and it was great. the pizzas were all worth it. the crust was tasty and the ingredients perfectly cooked. compared to the competitor, the interior and seating was comfortable and fun. overall a great place to stop in while visiting grayling. love, juston

Pizzas are great. The atmosphere is cool. The service although run by super cool people is a little chaotic. Their beers are great but they are only serving 4 of their own and two are porters… so hopefully you like porters. I typically don’t but the smoked mill town Java was fabulous. Good craft beers and my kids were all about the interactive realtime ‘keg status update’ on the menu lcd’s.

Stopped by on an average Tuesday night for us and the place was hopping, typically that means service was slow but they really worked together to make sure our glasses weren’t empty. Breweries rarely carry other beers than their own these days but Paddle Hard has several other Michigan breweries on tap. Food was fast and really good!!! We had a great experience here and would come again anytime.

We were in town on vacation and this is one place I KNEW I had to go – we were donors for the Indigogo campaign back in the day and this was the first time we had a chance to visit! I really didn’t have any idea what to expect, other than my mom told me it was decent. Well, I’d up that decent to DELICIOUS. We ordered a charcuterie platter which came with a variety of tasty meats and cheeses and buttery, crisp, and chewy flatbread. We also ordered the red onion and pistachio flatbread. BOTH were really, really delicious and are things we’d highly recommend and order again! The beers on tap are posted on LCD monitors around the bar so you can see which are newly tapped, which are getting empty, and which are coming up soon. Hubby enjoyed both Paddle Hard brews he tried. The service was quick and friendly, the A/C was cranking, and though the TVs were all on a sports channel, the sound wasn’t blaring and I barely registered it at all. We wish we had more time to come back here again before our vacation is over… but we’ll have to wait for next year. I’m so glad Grayling has something like this now and I hope it lasts!

So I know that this is a brew house but I ordered some whiskey neat. When the waiter brought it over he said whoops the bartender put ice in it is that okay. I said of course not that is not what I ordered. The bartender then brought my drink over a few seconds later. It was freezing cold and obvious that she had simply strained out the ice cubes. What an amateur move! My friend and I both had fish tacos which were pretty good. But when we got the bill they charged us more than the menu stated for those items. By now the bartender was our waitress. She gave us the strange look when I brought up that the price was wrong for the food and I showed her the menu. She said oh they must have made a mistake in the system which I found to be an absurd explanation as they only have 10 or 12 items on their whole food menu. Like I said amateurs

Returned to Grayling for a little fishing this week and stopped back in to see if any new beers were out. A golden ale was, and it was very good. At a lot of microbreweries, this style is very light, sort of a craft-beer-for-people-who-don’t-like-craft-beer. Not here. It was full bodied, maybe a little too much hop bite on the front end, but with a long, pleasant finish. Best I’ve had at PHB yet. Also got a burrito for dinner. Good, but not $ 9 good. If you’re there and you’re hungry it’s not a bad option, but I wouldn’t make a special trip there for it. 4 stars for beer/2 for food.

The beers here were good, I had the Alcona Brown & the Au Sable Racer Red, the Brown had a Chocolate and Espresso taste but a little watery, the Racer Red had a hint of an IPA taste but not too harsh. The service was nice the beer list was amazing but they do not have growler yet, they r still new and haven’t been open for long. But their beers are well worth the trip, however they do not have Growlers at the moment. *New Update* 6÷7÷15 Their beer list got bigger, they added a front patio and Growlers r now in the mix, since the last review this place has grown and got better, I love this place and we r definitely joining the mug club here.

I stopped by 10 times before opening. I met the owner Dave Vargo he was doing my all the work himself. I’ve been coming to grayling since I was a kid the better part of 35 years. In that time I’ve seen very little growth in grayling. I love the grayling area. This town needed development like paddle hard and I’m super excited with what we have received. It’s hard to express in words how this place makes me feel. Now I’m a mug club member #69, I’ve been here 20 times and I feel like I’m part of the family. I’m probably leaving out important details. The beer, food, atmosphere and most importantly the people keep me coming back.

I could live in this brewery. The old building, ie. brick & mortar, ancient barn wood stained and glazed red with the nails still pounded down against it, reminds me of my childhood farmhouse. Growlers on pegs, wired via chicken fencing is fanciful. The pizza oven is guarded by a half wall and old windows. While another area resembles two horse stalls in 6″ x 6″ beams and more chicken wire fence. Looks like the original wooden floor was merely cleaned and polished. Minimal décor with industrial lighting, open beam ceiling and ventilation. Bartender was busy, but pleasantly gave me samples of my red ales to decide. The Mt Pleasant«Mountain Town» Cow Catcher caught my fancy and I had a pint of the smooth red.
