I LOVE this place, with exception to the owner sometimes overcharging, their food is AMAZING! If you work in great neck and want spanish, well cooked, well seasoned, quickly made food, THISISTHEPLACE! I usually get the chicken flautas, the sausage and plantains, or the fried porgy. It all is sooo properly fried, so tasty and pretty quick from order to pick up. Only thing is they don’t deliver till around 1pm, and if the owner takes the order, the order will most likely come out wrong.(He tends to over charge or have them prepare the food differently which always tastes wrong. Order only if his wife –she speaks very good English, or the female employee who has a bit of an accent, are there and answer the call. THEYAREAMAZINGCOOKS!) Overall, I love this place and go broke every week ordering here but it’s so worth it.

If you are looking for a real Guatemalan tamale, come here! My boyfriend and I have tried many places looking for authentic tamales and these are the best, hands down. We also had the sopa de carne which is served with rice and tortillas. The horchata is amazing and the hibiscus drink is refreshing and sweet. We will definitely be back!

I heard about Mayan 502 thru a friend and they were raving about… so I decided to give it a try. They actually delivered to Queens(for an additional $ 2 out of area fee… worth it) so I didn’t have to travel. The pepper steak and the beef stew were to die for. The meats had a nice flavor and was very soft. I had white rice with the pepper steak and yellow rice with the beef stew. I also had a corn drink called, Atol de elote. It was nice and simple with an excellent taste. Mayan 502 is worth the money. I would recommend them to my friends.

I highly recommend this restaurant. This spot has a very sophisticated, ethnic and native Guatemalan ambiance with amazingly delicious food. The decorations are typical of what you would see in Central America such as, masks, corn husks, colorfully weaved tablecloths and their food’s are also authentic. I tried their pupusa for the first time ever and fell in love with it. It’s shaped like a pancake but has a meat-filling. I tried one with«chicharron(porkskin)» Yum! Also, had a «Chile Relleno» with beef on a fresh hero bread… to die for! And their chicken tacos. *exhale. What can I say. The taco was fresh, the chicken perfectly marinated, the guacamole was incredible and the«pico de gallo» was so good. Downed all of that food with a nice glass of «horchata» which is a rice drink. Awesomeness! If I can give this restaurant more stars, I would. They specialize in take-outs although they have a few small tables. Everything on the menu is very cheap but worth every penny and the food is not cheap. If you enjoy ethnic central american food, go here. You won’t regret it. My compliments to Karina and Sergio.

This place is amazing, something that Great Neck lacked. This little gem serves Guatemalan, Mexican, Venezuelan, and Costa Rican food, with other influences as well. The location of this place is good, but parking may be an issue sometimes. It is hard to miss, since it is bright and vibrant. The restaurant itself has 4 – 5 tables, some high top, some regular, all with a tiled pattern on them. The menu is really interesting, with sandwiches/hot dogs(Guatemalan style), specials of the day(usually posted daily on Facebook), their small plates(which include small appetizers, like pupusas and tamales, tacos, burritos, etc., some side dishes, rotisserie chicken, and lots of drinks. They just opened, so excuse any error. They are out of a lot of dishes at night, so go for lunch to try their lunch specials, or go early, because the kitchen closes at 8:00. They have a full bakery, with fresh baked items. Everything is really cheap! The service was great, bilingual, with waiter service for us, although they do stress takeout. We started with the pupusas, which were delicious. They were the perfect texture, pretty large, and were served with beans and cheese and a vinegary vegetable slaw. It was delicious, arguably the best I’ve had. I had their chicken burrito, for $ 5.50. It was larger than most burritos at Mexican restaurants, and was packed with tender chicken, rice, beans, cheese, and guacamole. Their guacamole is definitely fresh and mixed well. The burrito wasn’t folded well, but I managed. The combination of flavors was excellent. We had one of their shuko,(I think that is what they’re called) which was a Guatemalan sausage with lettuce and a yummy red sauce. This was nothing extraordinary, but it is authentic street food, which is what was going for. The sausage was yummy and the red sauce it was served with was delicious. Their tacos are amazing, with Mexican flavors, as well as tastes of Guatemala and neighboring countries. We sample their trio of tacos(chicken, beef, and pork) for $ 7.50, served with rice and beans. The rice and beans were good, although they would have been better if we came earlier, they were closing the kitchen when we were dining. The tacos were quite large and were all delicious. There was a bit too much guacamole on them, but it was fine. The chicken was yummy, a nice charred taste, with lots of veggies. The beef was very tender my favorite. The pork was crispy, which was unexpected, but the taco overall was delicious. We did get some pastries to go, freshly made, since they prepare the night before for the following morning. This feast was under $ 30 with drinks. Come here and spread the word…
