My Wife and I always love trying new restaurants, but sadly that has ended. The moment we walked into Ponte Mollo’s I knew we found a new home. Lisa and Marco instantly made us feel like family and my wife and I are all about intimate dining. The food is true Italian cuisine at its finest. They make the best Espresso Martinis hands down. Also make sure you try the Limoncello tartufo.

I am equally lucky enough to have a mother who turned 90 and to have had her special birthday party in the private«back«room of this wonderful restaurant. Every detail, from the special glass of prosecco presented to each arriving guest, to the flowers we requested, to the appetizers, salad and main course selection was perfect, wonderfully made and presented with care. We were not interrupted, the day flowed and thanks to Lisa and Marco, my mother had a most special day! Highly recommended for a party or just dinner. Delicious!!! and the best atmosphere you’d ever want!!!

My wife and I found this place about a year ago and we now go all the time. This restaurant is everything a good Italian restaurant should be. Marco, the owner, is such a warm and welcoming person. He and his staff go above and beyond to make your experience special. The menu is great but if you dont see what you want, chances are they will make whatever it is you’d like. Great wine list, fantastic food and impeccable service. Highly recommend!

Great food for the price! Great choice of wine by the waiter. We went for a birthday dinner, and it did NOT disappoint.

My only problem here is that I’ve fallen in love with two dishes and I know that everything here is equally fabulous. Previously, Vespa which was a slightly better than average Italian restaurant, Ponte Mollo is now right up there with several other great Italian restaurants in the area but there is one important difference. Ponte Mollo is authentic Italian food, it is not Italian American or Italian continental cooking. Come here if you’re looking for a fine dining adventure. On two recent nights I ordered their fabulous warm seafood salad which is virtually all fresh cooked seafood including mussels, little neck clams, shrimp, and calamari. Each time I followed this seafood appetizer with the black linguine in lobster sauce. The black linguine in lobster sauce is spectacular and home made. At other visits I have had branzino and a fabulous salad with arugula, ridicchio and figs in a balsamic dressing. On another visit there was a moist and delicious red snapper pescatore with mussels clams and shrimp. Desserts are also delicious here. Delicious desserts include cheesecake and limoncello tartufo. You are eating in one of two rooms both adorned with fine paintings hanging on the walls. It is a quaint and warm setting and you are made to feel at home by Marco the incomparable owner and host. You will feel like you’re in Europe.

We visited this restaurant for the first time even though we have been living in this area for a long time. What a mistake to have waited this long. The place was amazing. We loved the authentic décor. The owner was friendly and super nice. The food was delicious. We are very picky when it comes to Italian restaurants but this place is a hit. Their baby calamari is a winner as well as their lemon sorbet. We shall be back with friends!!!

We went to this nice little Italian restaurant 20ish years ago, when we lived in the area and it was Vespa. It changed hands about a year and a half ago. We ate there on a Sunday night. The thing that we were most struck by was how hospitable the staff were. The managers and waitstaff were all very nice. They started us off with a bit of proscecco on the house. It was followed by bread and olives. We were all served an amuse bouche(wonder what the equivalent is in Italian) of a flatbread or white pizza with cheese and proscuitto. One of the other nice things was the reasonably priced wine list. We were very happy with a couple of bottles of $ 30 Chianti. It’s great to drink good wine without having to take out a second mortgage. The salad was very good. The octopus that was good, but suffered in comparison to an excellent dish that I had the evening before. Main dishes were very good. A special of branzino en papilotte was cooked perfectly. The salmon was really good. My buddy and I had pork Milanese, that was cooked really well. We finished of dinner with very good cappuccino, biscotti and some complimentary fizzy moscato. This is a very good restaurant with gracious staff, very good food and reasonable prices. Worth going to!

We had not gone to this restaurant, formerly called Vespa, in a long while. We found out yesterday that, Marco, a former employee of Vespa, took over the business. He has done an outstanding job so far! I think there is even more coming. There were dishes on the menu that you can find only in Italy and exclusively in very specific areas of the country(Pizzoccheri alla Valtellinese). The food not only was presented very well but tasted so fresh, authentic and delicious. It keep on reminding me of my childhood back in Italy. I loved the trout, it tasted like the one that my mother used to make for us. Marco told us that he will, on a rotation basis, introduce in the menu a different Italian local specialty every month. The service was excellent. Very friendly staff and not overly pushy. A touch of class, that you always experience in Italy: after dinner, the owner sent all of us, on the house, a glass of Moscato wine. The décor was very nice, not very different from the old Vespa. The prices were reasonable, but definitely incredible value for the food and experience. We were all very pleased and we are looking forward to going back there. Thank you Marco.

This place was great. Excellent service and wonderful food. I had the black linguine pasta and it was one of the best I ever had. Dessert was great too! Highly recommend and I will be returning.

Excellent service for our large party. The appetizers and main courses were excellent. The only negative was the dessert. Was supposed to be a chocolate cake with soft center — what I thought would be like a lava cake. Got a cake so over baked, hard to put fork through. surprised they served it at all. Will go back because food and service great but skipping dessert.

I love this place so much, maybe the best Italian place in Great Neck and the surrounding area. The atmosphere is lovely, a bit dark, but very rustic. Parking isn’t an issue since the valet parking is efficient. The pricing is a bit high, but the quality of the food is far superior to competitors. My family has been here two times already, but this was the first time that I had went. It was somewhat crowded, with 3 – 4 tables for 4 and 2 – 3 couples. I have heard that it gets quite crowded, but since it was freezing and snowy outside, I don’t think many people would want to come out. The service was fantastic, professional and quick. The menu itself is great, filled with many different salads, appetizers, pastas, and entrees originating from Northern Italy, with many American twists. The complimentary bread was warm and went well with the free olives and cheese plate. There was also a complimentary amuse bouche type plate, with a mixture of tomato and pepper inside of a white leaf. We had split a frisee salad, and the waiter was kind enough to split it up between us. The frisee had come with apple pieces, walnuts, and little bacon pieces, with a lemon vinaigrette. It was a bit bland, but extremely fresh. I had ordered a penne siciliana, with fresh tomato, cheese, basil, and eggplant. The penne was perfectly al dente, this eggplant was great, and the cheese was lovely. We also had pappardelle with oxtail ragu, which was incredible. The pappardelle was perfect, with a lovely sauce. The oxtail tasted like brisket and had wonderful seasoning. We also ordered a special, the veal sorrentino, which was fantastic. The veal was thin and well cooked. The potatoes and green beans were yummy. The dish was perfect and well balanced. We also had a dessert, the ricotta cheesecake, which was a bit bland, but I wasn’t used to this type of cheesecake, so I don’t know what its supposed to taste like. The texture was great, though. Overall, a fantastic, authentic meal.

This place is so good! Marco the owner always goes out of his was to come say hello and have a chat with us! The food is good and several times I seen specials on Unilocal that he was able to make! Great food always fresh! My wife had her bridal shower here which was incredibly well put together by Marco and his staff! The service and food were so good that my sister in law is having her baby shower here and we plan on holding several other family events! Marco, you’re awesome. Thanks for the good food!

Eh it’s okay for an Italian restaurant pretty expansive and the waitress was horrible she was really friendly but a little too lenient and the food took forever to come. The desert was really good although this place is just like any other Italian restaurant, nothing special at all.

Lovely evening. Three old friends meeting for the first time in a couple of years, one from Canada, looking for a quiet restaurant and a delicious meal. The service was excellent, friendly and professional and the food very good. The pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente and the portions were quite large. As was the salmon. Complementary after dinner drinks and a slice of flourless chocolate cake with whipped cream were a good touch for customer relations.

What a great restaurant! Several rooms, tables not near each other. You can actually hear the conversation at your table. Food was outstanding. Fish, chicken, pasta dishes were all superb. Will definitely return soon.

3.5÷5 for me Overall, nothing really stook out for appetizers. The thing we enjoyed the most, was the creamy burrata(we also ordered arrancini and artichokes). For entrees, we had an assortment of pastas and fish. The best pastas that I would recommend would be the lobster ravioli and the pork pinzi(Sp*) which is a Northern Italian delicacy. For desserts, they brought out some amazing hazelnut mouse and some peach/pear flavored digestivo. It was a bit pricey, but overall the experience was nice and intimate with some light background music to have a good conversation. They also have a wine bar next door that was not in use, but it seemed like a good spot to try out. Buon appetito
