Wow I think this is the first time I couldn’t eat hardly any of my food over priced and the Monte christo tasted like deep fried batter I tried everything at the table to make it taste better I feel like I just ate a mouthful of frier grease

This place smells when you walk in. Pie was mediocre and based on the clenliness of the carpet I would not trust the kitchen, but maybe I’m not a risktaker. Waitress was on something and told me and my friends that a table ealier bothered her so much she«should have put visene on their food». Anyways I think things have fallen to the wayside over the years.

The veggie wrap should be called The Kraft cream cheese wrap. PS worst meal I’ve ever had.

Pass by this place and wanted to try it. Please don’t go. Server was very unfriendly. Appetizer was a pile of breading. Beer was warm. Will not go back.

The fried zucchini was good, but over breaded. The Caesar salad was over priced and bland. Décor needs updating.

So glad we went here for lunch today. Nothing fancy but the food and atmosphere can’t be beat. Good sized portions for the price and the staff is friendly and on top of things. Save room for pie because it’s looks amazing. If you leave hungry then something is wrong with you.

Great home town restaurant, its been a local favorite in the community. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Their pies are amazing! A bit pricey on the pies but all else is great. Cant go wrong here.

The pie is pretty good. Other than that, yuck. This place is so old. The food is boring. Unhappy workers. No beer selection. A wholly unclean feeling about the place.

I have introduced all of my friends and family to this place and everyone has loved it! From my sons age of 20 to friends in their 40s. The food and staff are all very good. We don’t eat dessert often but I always bring home a slice of pie or cake for later from here. They have a very extensive menu. My friend with multiple food allergies was able to find plenty of choices. It’s great, if you haven’t tried it yet, give it a chance’

I can’t believe how wonderful this place is! The only difficulty at this place is trying to make a decision. Their menu is incredible!

If you want a mediocre beer selection and tasteless sandwiches in a 80s setting, this is your kind of place

This place is definitely worth the effort to find. I am not sure what made us happier, the FRESH food, or Renee our waitress. We were seated in one of the private booths, everything was clean and comfy. The booth was nice because you really did have privacy. Renee was so friendly and knowledgeable. She was also really proud of where she worked and what they produced. The wine and beer selection was small but good. We had a half order of onion rings to start, and I have a confession, normally when I get onion rings I am just getting it for the crust and the onion falling out is the best case scenario. These onion rings were the real deal! pretty sure we got half a fresh onion and batter and fry them in house as you order. They are huge, I used a knife to cut them into smaller bites, and when the onion fell out I actually put it back on the breading and ate it! For the main course we had the sweet chilli wrap with potato skins and fish and chips. The wrap was delicious and refreshing. I was thrilled when I noticed that the use real chicken and not those precooked chicken strips, everything was fresh and the sauce was sweet and spicy. The potato skins were good, they came with tons of sour cream which I love. they weren’t anything too special but they were good. The fish and chips are hand battered with fresh cod. You get 3 big pieces plus fries and even without the sauce and vinegar they are yummy. Coming from Scotland I always appreciate it when a place has malt vinegar when serving fish and chips. Both were really good meals. We had strategically saved enough room(with the help of to-go boxes) for some pie. This time we tried the key lime pie and it was honestly the best pie we have ever tasted. The graham cracker crust was easy to break with your fork and the filing was savory, tart, and refreshing. bottom line this place is amazing and we will definitely be coming back!

We came in for lunch. If I lived in Greeley I’d be in there at least once a week. I got the bacon bbq cheese burger with potato skins as the side. He got the clam sandwich with potato skins. When it came out it looked small and I was thinking I’d have to get something else later. I could barely finish my burger. It was really good and a perfect med/well. He said the clam sandwich was good and it had a ton of clams on it. We split a slice of the peanut butter deluxe pie. I highly suggest splitting a slice of pie, unless that’s all you get. The slices are 1⁄6th of a pie. This is definitely a go-to place when we’re in Greeley.

They are known for their Monte Christo sandwiches, and for good reason: you get a blast of flavor(& for me, nostalgia) with every bite. A favorite local hangout that most of us driving through Greeley wouldn’t know about. So take note and seek out this little joint and feast on real, good food. I know I will be back.

I was pleasantly surprised, the food tasted great, and the ambiance was fun. All of the food that I had was incredibly flavorful and extremely well prepared.

If you enjoy tasteless overly battered and fried foods, this is the place for you! My friends and I all ordered something different and we all agreed that the meals were terrible. One star because my martini was good and ended up being my dinner. The the Key lime pie was okay as well.

We had a family meal at Fat Albert’s recently and we like that it is locally owned and has been around for a long time. While it was okay, I don’t think this is a place we will visit very often. We’re vegetarian so there are only a few items on the menu that we can eat but they do have a few options. The food tasted okay but not awesome or anything and it seemed overpriced for what you got. We ate there on a weeknight when it wasn’t very busy but there were a few people at the bar and they were pretty loud. We could hear their conversations of the two people at the bar and employee blow by blow and they were much louder than you’d think someone would be when they know they are a few feet from families trying to enjoy a dinner together. So we weren’t thrilled about the atmosphere either. Since they are supposed to be known locally for their homemade pies, we all tried a slice. One of us had Key Lime Pie, one had Blueberry Cobbler and one had Pecan Pie. The pie was good but not something you’d go out of your way to get and it was $ 6 a slice which we thought was a little steep. Anyway, like I said, it was not the best and not the worst we ever had just not real memorable or a place we would seek out very frequently. I’m sure for the meat eaters there are probably a lot of good options but I can’t speak to that since I’m a vegetarian and didn’t try any of those items.

We went into Fat Albert’s, not sure what to expect. Don’t enter too fast. You have to make an immediate turn. That’s kind of odd. And the seating is limited. But the food is very good. And what I found to be one of the best things about Fat Albert’s is that we were seated in like a little alcove all our own. Sure we could see other patrons, and hear them well. But we still had this feeling that we were«alone at last,» able to look into each other’s eyes, share some thoughts, talk, without feeling rushed or out-shouted or revealing our thoughts to strangers. In short, ours was a cozy little place to eat. We are trying to be wise, so we did not let our Eyes over-rule our Stomachs. Naturally, that meant we had to carry some of our meal out with us. Better that than fat. Even at Fat Albert’s.

Fat Al’s is a great, family owned restaurant. Family owned businesses are a lot more important than a lot of people realize, and a big reason we continue to eat here. You can sum up the review with one word: consistency. Service, food quality, ambiance is dependable. They do a great job on burgers, specialty sandwiches, salads, grilled items, pies, nachos, St Pat’s…The Monte Cristo is amazing. Go there for great food. Return often to support a local business owner in Greeley.

One of my good friends(who also happens to be my hairdresser) lives in Greeley so I go up every 6 – 8 weeks. We typically try to schedule things so that she cuts my hair and then go out. We’ve been to Fat Albert’s a couple of times, including last night. The food is nothing fancy, but it’s consistently good. My friend, her husband, and I were all happy with our food. Yesterday we all got sandwiches: the monte cristo, the club, and the turkey reuben. The turkey reuben was mine and I ate every last bite. There was a very good balance of meat, cheese, sauerkraut, and mustard. Had there been more, I probably would have been tempted to eat it even though what was there certainly filled me up. The side salad could have been better — it was mostly iceberg lettuce with some pieces not up to my standards(but, I’m picky and I did say the food isn’t fancy here). Somehow we all managed to resist the pie this visit — I think because we were all stuffed! We have gotten it before and it’s delicious. If you’re in Greeley looking for some good comfort food with friendly service, you could do a lot worse than Fat Albert’s.
