Steak ‘n Shake

Very slow! Takes an 30 – 60 minutes to get meal. Food tastes good. We have ate here several times and always slow services no matter the number of customers.

Service was great, food was good and hot, only complaint is that we were originally charged for double burgers and only got singles. We’ll go back and try again.

Some of the food is pretty good. The plain French fries are much less salty than you find at a lot of places. There is seasoning at each table so you can season how you will. The Cajun and the Guacamole hamburgers are pretty good. The buns are pretty greasy, so I wish they’d supply more than the single paper napkin that comes with the silverware. Prices are what most people would call «affordable.» Four of us had hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes for $ 28.

I’m always satisfied with Steak ‘n Shake. They do quite well to make sure their customers are taken care of, and that any issues with food, service, etc. are handled appropriately.

Having eaten at steak’n shake in Florida, I am disappointed in the one here in town. I suppose the quality suffers from long distance. Their food s very expensive…

Bypass this place. The service sucked, the food sucked, and it was dirty. Like, hair stuck to the inside of my cup of water dirty.

I have always either used the drive through, or ordered take out. Take out is reasonable, but the drive through is excruciatingly slow. The food is marginal, but the shakes keep me coming back. Next to Sonic, they have the best shakes in town.
The food is never prepared correctly, is always greasy, and it takes forever to get your order at the drive through. The customer service is lousy, and my change is rarely correct.
BUT the shakes are good. If you come here… don’t have any appointments after. You’ll be late.

Like a lot of people are saying. They’re SLOW!!! 20 min wait for 2 milkshakes in the drive thru.

There is always a wait, and along with the wait is always an excuse. The food is good. I would give this place One star but I’m giving it two because the servers waitresses have a positive attitude. I feel bad that they obviously have to deal with poor management. Stay away if you can.

Love their prices, burgers, and shakes. The only thing they could improve upon is service time. We come here when we are not in a hurry to go anywhere afterwards. So it’s not an issue for us. But the food is great. Just speed up the service and they’d be amazing!!!

My jalapeño crunch burger was good, the flavor and crunch as I would expect. The fries were great as well.
I would compare it to Freddie’s steak burgers except for one inexcusable difference.
However, we waited 45 minutes for our food. The restaurant was not busy at all. I’ll not be back. There are plenty of other restaurants nearby.

There’s nothing «fast» about this fast food restaurant. The drive thru is so slow that it’s pointless, and it’s equally as slow if you order from inside. The prices are also outrageous for a fast food burger and shake place. Don’t waste your time eating here!

Great burgers but terrible drive thru service… With only three cars in front of me in the drive thru, I have set here close to 15 minutes. For sure long enough to to check in on Unilocal and write a review!!!

I ordered a burger and paid for an additional patty. The owner/​manager thought he should argue with me when I got my burger with only 1 patty. He said he personally made the burger and that he put 2 on it. Well he didn’t… My wife and other guest around me heard my argument with the guy and they all verified there was no 2^nd patty! I understand people make mistakes, he should have just said sorry let me get you a 2^nd patty. Instead he asked if I wanted to pay for a 3^rd.

Can’t beat the food for the price. We have eaten there several times and I have yet to get a burger I didn’t find very tasty. Reading other reviews, if you want a pristine burger and dining experience, go somewhere else. If you want a 30 minute meal of burger and fries go here.

Worst place I have ever been. Bad host and even worse managers! I had a party of 8 (3 adults and 5 kids). Had others that came in after us sat before us. Then requested to sit us a a four person booth. I will never attempt to eat here again!

Inedible.
The steak burgers are okay, I however made the mistake of wanting a turkey club.
Firstly the bread; they toasted it for maybe two seconds, there was barely a hint of golden to it. Secondly the amount of mayonnaise used was atrocious, globbed on, not spread and overwhelmed every other taste in the sand which. The lettuce was the stuff I’d usually cut off and throw out at home, flaccid and bitter. I had a single sad slice of tomato, and then the meat… it felt like they went to the grocery store grabbed the cheapest lunch meat possible, opened the package and overturned it onto my sandwich.
A thin brick of cold disgusting turkey. No ham at all. The bacon was cold and alike to the pre cooked thin stuff you buy in boxes at the groceries.
I cannot described my disgust at bitting into this thing. It was still inedible after I took it home and tried to spruce it up a little.
All in all I can make a better sandwich at home with my eyes closed. Not worth the money, or time.

The place is a joke the owners are clueless on running a business this place sucks very rude people. They treat there employees very bad.
They fire the kids without giving them any kind of warning they are kids they are young and learning to be in the working world give them a chance!!! Don’t just fire them without giving them a verbal or written notice give them a chance to correct the problem.

I see that people say that the drive thru sucks and the employees are really rude, but when my group of people went in we were greeted fast and friendly! The food was very good and came out relatively quick! For my experience I would give it a 4 out of 5 because I love what I got and the servers were really good at their job! Always checking on us and making sure we were ok. I like this place overall. I think it’s just when it gets busy they probably start to mess up little bit.
