They really did try but the waitress appeared overwhelmed by all the parties and not friendly, we were asked to move for another party of 13 and told our next round of drinks would be free(they didn’t), the food not only took forever(30 mins) but was just so so. Sorry I can’t justify higher than a 2.

A great place to meet friends and have a drink. An order of the cheese curds is a must! Had the green chili fries for the first time and they were crazy good

Atmosphere was definitely pub. Couldn’t hear each other the whole meal because of a much too loud speaker. Food was mediocre at best(two different burgers that were overpriced for the quality). Service was probably the best part of the experience. Probably won’t be going back…

So, we had a group of 7. Our dd driver was with us. Took forever to get orders and our beers. We’re regulars. Omg! They cut us off because supposedly we were too loud. We were enjoying the band. Seriously, because they knew our friend was the Budweiser distributor they were going serve us. We fucking left.

The only thing good about the Tavern is the beer selection. The food was subpar at best. Will not be revisiting anytime soon.

assembled here for my mom’s birthday yesterday, originally there were supposed to be 16 of us but our party diminished down to 12. when we showed up and told them that we had a reservation, the look of panic was enough to let me know that they were not prepared for us. The team came together quickly to slap some tables together and we were on our way. The food was good but it has the potential to be great. take for example the tavern burger it was a little dry with not much seasoning, but the jalapeño popper was a nice touch, Add a smidge of sauce that goes beyond your typical mustard, mayo, ketchup, and you have a great item. A few of the items came out and didn’t have all of the necessary ingredients such as Avocado on the sandwiches. My sisters dish was supposed to have no Mushrooms due to being highly allergic, there were mushrooms on her salad. everything was remedied quickly, I think things would have been better in a smaller group as it appeared that there was only one cook who was trying to get food for 12 ready. I might consider trying the place again in a much smaller group, and hopefully in time to catch the bloody mary bar which looked Amazeballs. The bloody mary that came from the regular bar was MEH.

Started out Mother’s Day brunch with expectations of a great meal. I mean free mimosas for the moms and bottomless mimosas for everyone else, how you could you go wrong? Well first of all, you have very inadequate service. The waitress was bringing the drinks out one at a time and we were waiting probably 30 minutes before a second round. She also was bringing out our meals a few at a time and had to come ask us what we had ordered. When we got out food, the biscuits were stone cold and not fresh at all, the«blt bennies» didn’t have any bacon on them(they did remember the tomato and the lettuce though) and the portions were minuscule. The Tavern at St. Michael’s has a real opportunity here because there aren’t a lot of choices in Greeley for brunch. But they aren’t there yet.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover The Tavern. I had known it years ago when it was The Hobnobber and before I was 21, but I’m glad I checked it out again. The food was really good, and the servers were very nice. I highly recommend the mac and cheese, which has seemingly turned me into a five-year-old in the way that I want that for every meal now. The drink selection seems great as well, though it seems it’s hard to get a draft IPA here. Whether this is due to the popularity of IPAs or the selection choices by the bar, I am not sure. Whenever I am looking to grab food and drinks at the start of the night, The Tavern is probably my go-to place in Greeley now.

Ok so ive been here twice. Food is really good, but everytime the staff rushes us out. And they dont rush us out because they are packed, its usually pretty empty, so wtf? Last night after dinner we were all still ready to keep drinking, but no our waitress brought our tab to us. Sad day, we all cut the tip for that.

Came here for lunch yesterday and absolutely loved this restaurant! Our waitress was very nice! Didn’t get her name but she has short blonde hair… She sat us inside but my sister and I wanted to enjoy lunch on the patio so we moved and then got cold so we moved back inside and our waitress didn’t mind at all she was very friendly and quick to refill our drinks and bring our food. The cooks are great too! I asked for a well done burger and I got a very tasty well done burger with a jalapeño cream cheese popper… love the presentation… Oh and the fries are the best I’ve ever had! Good food, great atmosphere, clean restaurant, and excellent service… We were treated as if we were regulars there even though it was our first time! Next time I visit colorado I will definitely come back!

I went here because I was waiting on my truck to get my tires rotated at Discount so I thought I would try it. I ordered a salad and a half order of fish and chips. I got three SMALL pieces of fish that looked like Chicken McNuggets and a fair salad. I was STILL hungry when I was done eating this lunch fit for a midget. The food is WAY overpriced! I paid $ 9 for what I had and I had to go to Wendy’s when I was done to fill up. Worst place I have ever been to. RIPOFF. RIPOFF. RIPOFF.RIPOFF.RIPOFF.RIPOFF

I came here to go trivia with my family. The food was great. I tried French onion soup and the Colorado burger that had elk, buffalo, and sausage with a bacon tomato jam. They were both delicious. The trivia was fun. I always find a geeks who drink location for an evening of fun Overall this place is a definite place to return. It is even more fun with friends and family.

If I cold give zero stars I would. Both drinks and food are terribly over priced and the food is less than good. Its not a bad after work atmosphere but the bartender’s are all kids who easily get overwhelmed if the place gets busy. Do yourself a favor and try someplace else…

As a vegan, this is a decent place to grab a meal and a beer. They also cater to gluten-free folks. I just wish their pizza sauce tasted more like marinara and less like salsa. Great cheese and toppings though! If they’re busy, the service may be a bit slow but if you are capable of being understanding then that’s not a problem. The staff is all very friendly and have pretty much memorized my orders by now.

!!WORSTPLACETOGOEVER! WOULDN’T EVENGIVE1STAR! I tried extremely hard to find one tiny redemption for the Tavern and could not. Let’s start with being seated. My boyfriend and I were crammed into a tiny table with barely room for our drinks and food. I asked the hostess who sat us if I could see the brunch menu out of curiosity and for future planning and she told me it was on the regular menu and rushed away. It was not. We waited 15+ minutes to be greeted while aggravated servers passed by us huffing and complaining. I tried to smile and get their attention to no avail. A chef(I’m guessing exec) was holding a meeting with the hostess and a server and bartender behind us. I asked him if there was a manager I could speak with and he said he could help. I explained that we had been waiting and without apologizing he said he would send someone right over. The waitress arrived and also did not apologize and stuck her face inches from mine while asking if we knew what we wanted. We did as we had already had nearly 20 minutes to look at the menu. I asked what tequila was in the Cadillac Margarita and she didn’t know. I ordered the Marg and«upgraded» my Tequila to Milagro, and generally when you upgrade you should be able to taste it over the sweet and sour, but this was not the case. Oh yea, my boyfriend ordered a draft beer(the highlight of the evening as you cant exactly mess that one up) and between those two drinks we waited an additional 8 minutes while I watched the waitress Anna talk to her coworkers and the drinks sat at the service well. On to the appetizers. I had the Rocky Mountain Oysters and he had the Beer Battered Mushrooms. Some oysters were burnt while others soggy and the mushrooms were extremely large and hard to enjoy. Almost halfway done with our apps our entrees arrived and the table continued to shrink. We both ordered the«Specials» knowing that if you have the guts to call it a special it really should impress. On this particular evening they had bragged on their facebook page that Carne Asada tacos were on the special along with Pizza ala Putanesca. Now I will note that I am from Texas and therefore a taco snob but WOW were these awful! The peppers weren’t cooked at all and the meat had no flavor. There was no cheese, no salsa, no guacamole, not a single semblance of sauce of any kind to help the taco out. Just raw peppers and tasteless dry meat and little of it. I took the meat from the second taco and added it to the first so that it didnt feel like I was just eating a tortilla. And the pizza? Well the dough under the tons of cheese was raw and the crusts were burned. This was the first time in my life I have ever wanted less cheese. All in all absolutely disgusting. We skipped dessert, something we never do but why risk any more torment from this place. When the check arrived we did notice that our drinks were not on the check. Because the waitress said nothing we cant be sure if this was intentional or stupidity. Either is highly likely. And finally the kicker. After giving the waitress our credit card, our party of two was given an automatic 18% gratuity! This is NOTRIGHT. Now, I have waited tables, and I have made $ 2/hr doing it and had to count on customers doing the right thing. I NEVERLEAVELESSTHAN20%. And if I am comped drinks I will generally give half the comp in addition to 20% of the total bill. In this case what could have been a $ 17 tip became a $ 6.88 auto grat. We like to consider ourselves«good diners». We always order drinks apps entrees and desserts and tip well. I am completely baffled by this experience and warn others not to let this happen to you.

Nice neighboorhood bar with plenty of patio tables. Came there for work lunch, so we didn’t try any alcohol. I got the rosemary chicken, and not very impressed with it — I didn’t expect the sour taste of the marinade, the portion is pretty small for the price, and nothing special with the mashed potato. However, my coworkers raved about the fish and chip and shepherd pie that they had here, so it’s just probably because I chose the wrong dish.

The Tavern is located in Greeley in the St Michael s Square shopping center, hence the name. There was definitely a lot of planning and thought put into the layout of St. Michael’s Square; However, the foresight seems to have ended there. With all that being said, the Tavern’s warm inviting glow was the light at the end of the tunnel. Atmosphere: This is a well thought out and nicely designed bar, from the dark wood to the stain glass windows. One of the first things we noticed when walking up to the entrance is two separate patios(one is covered) that appear to be a nice place to dine in warmer months. The dim lit bar area greeted us as we entered through the front doors with seating at dark wooden booths, tall tables and at the bar. Service: We were greeted by a hostess at the front door entrance and per usual we turned down table service for seats at the bar. The service at the bar was friendly and prompt. Drinks: The Tavern has a couple of micros and domestics on tap along with a well-stocked bar that includes a variety of higher end scotches. But most importantly they have the classic English pub ale Boddingtons on tap. Food: The Tavern’s menu provides a more upscale comfort food selection, which comes with a little higher price tag. We tried the artichoke dip which was served with tortilla chips and sliced veggies, giving it a healthy twist. It was very tasty and our only complaint would be the overly large chunks of artichokes in the dip made it hard to eat on a chip or veggie. The pizzas came recommended by the bartender so we tried the taco pizza. This clash of cuisines had the crunch of a taco with the doughy goodness of a pizza.

Some things were good, some were bad, so I guess I’ll go with 3 stars. Really good: –Our waiter was excellent. He was attentive without being hovering. He provided recommendations when asked. He happily turned off the stereo speakers on the patio when requested(so we could hear the band). And, one of my friends thought he was very easy on the eyes :) –The fish and chips(recommended by our waiter) was delicious! I’m so glad my friend was gracious enough to share a bite with me. –The mashed potatoes were quite tasty as well. –They have Guinness! –Prime spot to hang out with friends while still being able to listen to my dad’s jazz band play on the green. The not so good: –All of the sweet potato fries on my plate(and a friend’s plate) were burned to a crisp. They never should have been served.(One friend got decent sweet potato fries — not sure how hers were so different.) To his credit, the waiter brought me mashed potatoes instead, but I had to request it. –My bratwurst, while tasty, was COLD. I was starving so did not send it back, even though I wanted to. –It was«snowing» styrofoam out on the patio. Apparently they are doing some rennovations out there involving an awning. How styrofoam is involved? Not sure. Everyone seated on the patio was trying to cover their food/drinks and/or picking styrofoam out of their food/drinks. –Even though our waiter was excellent most of the night, we waited a long time to get our check.
