We have been in town for a week and have been to this location twice. Both times with horrible service. Food was ok… it’s Denny’s after all but part of what we are paying for is the service. Today we had Mark as our waiter. In watching him interact with his other tables we could tell he treated everyone the same. He rushed you when ordering by finishing your sentence. We asked for a new bottle of ketchup to replace the empty one at our table. Instead of doing that so we could eat hot food he went in the back and did who knows what so we took the ketchup off another table. 5 minutes later he brought a bottle of ketchup and placed it next to the one we had already gotten like it wasn’t even there. Then when the bill came I see he charged us extra for ham. I asked about it and he said in the snippiest way«ham is a premium item». Oh ok I didn’t know that and said«no need to be so defensive». He got all bent out of shape. «I’m not being defensive, it’s right in the menu. Wait and I’ll show you«. I said that’s fine I just wondered. When I paid the bill they asked how it was. My answer was«food was ok, service sucked». She looked at who our server was and I said«mark needs to work on his customer service skills« Next time we are in town we will eat elsewhere.

A group of 15 of us made a reservation and they accommodate us when we came 15 mins earlier. The server was great. She refilled our drinks frequently and came to check on us every so often. When she missed an item, she decided not to charge it to our account. In regards to food, the steak and burgers were good but the tilapia was mediocre(no enough flavor). Though the dishes may seem a bit pricey, they offer huge portions.

I didn’t have a bad experience but it wasn’t an over the top experience either. Today I went there for my birthday for breakfast. They wished me a happy birthday. It was kind. The food wasn’t something I couldn’t have made at home and I have to say the sausage was very gross. I couldn’t finish it. I would go back no reason not to.

I am not sure why this Denny’s has not been added to Unilocal yet, maybe Unilocal feels the poor reviews are unwarranted and refuse to add this location, but I feel a review has to be made. I have not hit a late night dining location in several years, and I am hoping this is not what the new normal has become. Myself and a friend arrived roughly around midnight. The parking lot was relatively empty and the patrons could not have been more than 20 at this time on this night. We were seated promptly and courteously by the wonderfully delightful service staff.(Name withheld) We ordered simple water and coffee after a long day at the pool tables at the state pool tournament at Shopko Hall. The wait staff returned to take our order 10 minutes later, we inquired about our water and coffee. She departed and returned promptly with the items. We placed our order per her recommendation, a sizzling skillet of steak and eggs on a bed of hash browns and various other delectable vegetables. The picture in the menu and the wait staffs description and recommendation sounded like the perfect night cap of empty calories, well deserved. Our conversation distracted us from the passage of time, and 30 minutes later, our waitress returned to ask us if we wanted separate checks, or all on one. ??? We stated«how do we pay for a meal we have not received?» After the bewilderment left her face, she asked, «they didn’t bring your food out yet?» We were under the assumption that was her job. Take the order, place the order, service the order. My company for the evening has vision of the pass in the kitchen and noticed a lot of food awaiting service. We were at this time promptly served our now heat lamp dried out, no longer sizzling, skillets. The sunny side up egg yolks were hard and dry. The steak was jerky at best, and all the other«fixins» were dried and borderline burnt. Being late and us being hungry and in utter disbelief consumed our meals and still 10 minutes after eating were presented with both individual and a full table checks, and we were left the choice to chose which we desired. ??? Water and coffee being well emptied with no request of refills. No request for anything else off the menu. They were not busy. It was now close to 1am. Needless to say, departure was the only thing we wanted at this point, so all the bills were brought to the register, no change was needed(the 14 cents) and off to Unilocal I came. This was by far the worst service and the nastiest food both of us had endured in late night dining. A gas station hot dog would have been a better bet than making this trip into this Denny’s. Avoid at all costs. I only wish negative stars were an option here, because I would give –3 star review.

I was impressed on how fast our breakfast came that day! My breakfast was good and my husbands breakfast was mediocre, but that because he ordered the«healthy» breakfast option. What do you expect? Lol. I’d go again unlike some of the reviews I read on here. Maybe we came on a good day. The service we got was friendly and I have nothing to complain about.

If you have all day then I’d give 3 stars. It took us about 45 minutes to get our food. That includes waiting to be waited on and waiting for our order, a cheeseburger, French toast, and an order of hash browns. French toast was cold, burger good. Our server was over his head and should look for less stressful work. The manager did offer to comp, our meal. We just accepted the cold French toast as a credit. Service was very slow to our section. Not sure if it was the kitchen or our waiter. Manager told us the order only took 13 minutes so maybe he forgot to put it in. Why? This area has every franchise restaurant I’ve ever heard of so I suggest trying one other than the Denny’s.

The service has been pretty slow the few times I’ve been here, although the waitresses were both very friendly. In fact, one time the waitress did not charge me for my ice cream brownie dessert to make up for the wait, which was a very thoughtful thing to do. Denny’s is pretty much chain restaurant fast food quality with the not-so-fast service. However, your really do get what you pay for; the prices are extremely reasonable. The first time I ate at the Appleton Denny’s, I got the fried cheese melt, which was only $ 4 on the dollar menu. Even though I felt a little bit like having a heart attack from the cheese(there are mozzarella sticks actually baked inside of the grilled cheese), it was an incredibly good deal. It even came with a marinara dipping sauce and fries. The other two times coming here, I got the pecan wheat pancakes and OMG. They are amazing! These pancakes are among my top favorite pancakes I’ve ever had. Wow. AND they came with syrup, egg whites, and turkey bacon, too. What an excellent deal for some delicious pancakes. I have to say, this Denny’s really surprised me. This place would have gotten three stars, but for those pecan pancakes, I give Denny’s a solid four. I will be returning for those pancakes!

Ah Denny’s. Your late-night availability and greasy food and fun wait staff always warm my heart. Our antics together have been shared by many throughout the time I was in college. Denny’s is an institution for any college student or late-night drunk. Open all hours of the day and night, and serving deliciously unhealthy food. The wait staff gets to the point where they remember faces and orders. Not bad for a chain restaurant. If there is one item I would suggest, it would be the Moons over My Hammy. It’s basically a scrambled-egg sandwich with ham. So good. The prices are cheap as well. To be expect based on the crowd they get. All in all, it’s probably not as great as I think it is. But that doesn’t matter. Because I think it’s good.
