The service level was acceptable. –My husband, who is an athlete, asked if seconds were available(the breakfast portions were average in size) and was promptly told, «no». So, be prepared for a mid-morning snack of your own accord if you find yourself in a similar situation. It’s also noteworthy to mention, the deposit was secured from our debit card right after I made the reservation(not held until check-out). Not to much of an issue for us, but others should be prepared. Our room was clean for the most part(moldy shower curtain). But in other respects, the old Victorian house is what we expected of a Bed and Breakfast. Also, I am giving Mary Jo «points» for accommodating my gluten-free diet!

My wife and I stayed with another couple over New Year’s Eve 2013 – 14. We couldn’t have been happier with the McConnell Inn. Owners Mary-Jo and Scott made us feel welcome right away, with a plate of fresh baked cookies awaiting us when we entered the warm, inviting foyer. Our room was the Lac Verde, a simple, elegant room with a nice, modern shower enclosure in the bathroom. The entire house felt comfortably warm despite the sub-zero temperatures outside. We asked Mary-Jo where would be a reasonable place for a good dinner and she presented us with menus from several local eateries along with her recommendations. The following morning, the four of us made our way to the dining table to find coffee waiting for us. It wasn’t long before the table was covered with homemade pastries, smoothies, pancakes and sausages. We will certainly return at the next opportunity!

We started going to MCCONNELL Inn MANY years ago and then went back this summer twice. We had forgotten how enjoyable Green Lake was. Scott and Mary Jo are wonderful Inn keepers. Breakfast is the best! Walking distance to everything. Thanks for very enjoyable stays.
