I was sick and really wanted to eat spicy/flavorful food. I’m glad we came here, outside wasn’t that good, but interior was pretty grand. I ordered chicken red curry and it was really good. The service is nice too, will definitely go back!

From the outside, the restaurant looks completely degraded and run-down, but to my surprise, the inside is charming and elegant. I had the chicken pad see ew on two different occasions and in both times, the food was average at best. The brown sauce had a very light taste and should be more flavorful. The chicken was dry and tasted like it was a day old. However, the broccoli was crunchy and seemed fresh. Given the limited number of Thai options in the area, Siri’s Chef Secret is a convenient go-to place.

It’s really hard to find a nice decent place in College Park/Greenbelt area and this place is so far the best I found! Food is awesome! Love the duck basil, lamb chop, curry here.

In general, the food is pretty good and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Large menu so it’s sometimes hard to pick the best entrees but if you go enough you will find your favorites. The seafood dishes need some work so that’s why I only gave four stars.

1 star for the food, the food was not flavorful, the only thing I really enjoyed is the sticky rice with mango. The angel wings tasted like egg roll and Thai shrimp tastes like the same thing. Tasted so weird. Thai steak salad which is my favorite at any Thai restaurant but over here it was not flavorful and you only have a few meats with loads of onions, there was more onions than beef. The sticky rice with mango was sooo good! It’s not even mango season and the mango was sweet. The rice is sticky but not super sticky which is great, the whipped cream makes it taste even more awesome. The service was great! The fried rice needed salt/soy sauce because it was tasteless. They have a professional water filler, as soon as you finish your water here she comes refilling it within seconds she’s at the table. The waitress was nice and listened to everyone’s specifications. I really wish I can give it more stars for customer service but the food wasn’t really that great.

Best Thai place in PG county. They should advertise themselves more. The place is rather«secretly» located. My favorite is the duck basil. The assorted appetizer(name on the menu is something else) is great too.

All restaurants start with 5 stars at the start of a meal. For every bad thing I encounter until the end of the meal I deduct a half point. 1. Music was awful. Décor is appalling. I need reading glasses now as a result of this experience. 2. Rice was not free after 2 bowls despite having ordered 14 entrees. There were 10 of us. 3. Their famous duck was dry and overcooked. 4. We had leftovers in to-go boxes, and they did not give us bags. 5. The food was overpriced. 6. My curry dish had something similar to a hair in it. Not sure what the mysterious object was. Appetite was lost. Never coming back. –Yami

The food here is not very fresh, I got the Hawaiian fried rice with shrimp, the shrimp tasted like amonia. I got spring rolls too and the shell smelled not very fresh. Expensive for not very good food. Hated it!

This restaurant is so delicious and beautiful! I would highly recommend it! It’s not hard to find– just near Giant and Target. I would visit it again!

Horrible experience. We followed the Unilocal ratings to get some delicious Thai food after our niece’s graduation. What a sad disappointment. The meal took 3 hours due to the incredibly poor service. After waiting 30 minutes for our order to be taken, the waitress finally came over but said she could only take our appetizer order and not our entrée order because she didn’t have the«right paper.» She came back 20 minutes later with a regular iced tea when I had ordered a Thai Iced Tea. Eventually we got our appetizers: vegetable spring rolls, angel wings and thai shrimp. They were all okay, but nothing to write home about. We’re now in for an hour and she is just taking our dinner order. An hour later and our food still hasn’t come while the dirty dishes from the appetizers are still covering the table. After complaining to the waitress and the hostess, we finally got our entrees. Unfortunately, my friend received Red Curry Chicken when he had ordered Beef. It also didn’t come with rice, initially. The Drunken Noodles were okay as was the Veggie Delight and Siam Chicken, but again, nothing special. My Green Papaya salad with Grilled Chicken entrée came last without the included sticky rice until I reminded the waitress. 150 minutes after being seated, we had to ask twice for the check. They brought us some complimentary dessert to apologize for the bad service. I have to say the fried bananas with iced cream and bread pudding were pretty good. Eventually the check came and we handed in 2 credit cards to split the bill. When they brought it back to sign, we noted that a) they included the tip and b) the bill wasn’t ours. It belonged to another table at quadruple ours total. I walked it up to the cashier and pointed out the error. She apologized again and corrected it. Again, the tip was included(though at 15%). 3 hours after being seated, we just wanted to get out of there, so I signed the bill and left. Horrible service, ok food(nothing special). I considered 2 stars, but I am so annoyed, I just can’t be that generous.

My friends and I came here for a recent thai craving. It’s quite unfortunate we(my boyfriend and I) didn’t know about this place while we were still at UMD. They have a pretty extensive menu — some of which seems like french-thai fusion. I ordered the roasted duck curry(it was a red curry) and it was DELICIOUS. The duck was tender and moist, and really flavorful. It really soaked up the curry flavors well. There was also a decent amount of duck meat and pineapple chunks. Even my boyfriend, who doesn’t usually like thai curry because of the strong coconut taste, loved it. Now, boyfriend decided to splurge and try the basil lamb chops. Let’s just say, don’t get it. Sorry, it’s not worth the $ 22. You get small-ish lamb chops in a thai basil sauce. The waitress also didn’t even ask how he would like it cooked, and auto put in medium well… so suffice to say the lamb chops were overcooked. The basil sauce wasn’t bad, but I guess we just thought it was a little bit of a weird combo.(just an example of one of their french-thai fusions). We couldn’t resist getting the desserts., but I got the kanum tuay(coconut pudding) and boyfriend got the black sticky rice with thai custard. Both were delicious. Again, we are not that big fans of coconut, but bf’s sister recommended the dish, so we gave it a try. It was really cute. They came in four of those cute tiny bowls(which in reality, probably made it less worth it, but they were cute) and it came out hot. The pudding was sweet and not overwhelming coconut. Yummy. We also really enjoyed the black sticky rice. Service was good, but it took a while for us to get our food. They had some large party in the back room. However, the waitress did apologize to us about the long wait, and we all appreciated that a lot. Other than that, they kept our waters filled and were very courteous.

I love Greenbelt. I love to support local business no matter how old or out dated they are. HOWEVER, when a restaurant is serving grose food, I can no longer eat there. On my most recent visit in November, I ordered basil duck, pad thai and an appetizer(I forget what) it cost me about a little more than $ 35. I’ll pay that for food that is good but NOSIR, the food this time disappointed me even more than the 5 times I’ve been there before. How can you mess up pad thai? This time I noticed that their menu was cut in half. Half Thai, half American. That’s not a good sign. I suppose they haven’t been getting the customers in. The Tom Kha soup was good. So was the mango rice. I’m also assuming the 3+ reviews that others are giving are for their friendly staff, décor and quiet ambiance because the Thai Food at Siri’s is DEFINITELYNOTTASTY. «The best Thai food I’ve ever tasted». I can’t believe this place has so many 5-star ratings. Perhaps I am disappointed for that reason? Anyway, we had beef salad, drunken noodles, and basil chicken. Everything was a disappointment, frankly. Flavors and textures were off. I would try other items on the menu, maybe we were unlucky. On the bright side, service was good. It was reasonably priced. Restaurant was nicely decorated(notice the apsara dancers adorning the walls). And booths were comfy.

I have eaten here many times since I moved to a new job a year ago. Always have the Basil Chicken with Brown Rice. Very consistent and tasty food. I love the fact that the restaurant has table clothes and the staff are very attentive. My friends have made the green curry and Pad Thai their favorite. You may not be able to see the restaurant easily but if you spot the Dunkin Donut on Greenbelt Road near the CVS youa re not far away.

Right down Greenbelt Road from me sits this unassuming spot between a Dunkin and a gas station. It doesn’t really set the scene, neither does the somewhat over-the-top Thai/Asian décor. But, I try to abide by that not judging a book by it’s cover thing, and it sooo paid off. I chose my meal based on the amazing photo of the Basil Delight with Beef. So tasty! Fresh basil, veggies, juicy beef over perfectly cooked white rice. Can’t beat it! We also had curry puffs for an appetizer which were pretty good, a little too much puff for the amount of curry. Service was fast, they filled our water glasses after practically every sip. And prices are pretty good, too. We ordered take out from here another time and it was ready really quick. But the yellow curry was not my favorite that time. Among all the fast food chains in the immediate area, this spot is definitely a breath of fresh air!

Good, quiet ambience, dim lighting and okay service. The food was prompt and I like how the appetizers actually come out earlier than the food rather than some places that serve the 2 at the same time. That said. the spring rolls were greasy. Greasy as in every chew entails the same thought: grease, grease, grease. Also the spring rolls come laden in sauce so that really does not help its situation. Our table consisted of green curry which was okay and pad see ew. I had the pad see ew and it was edible. A bit dry, salty, and not much else. The broccoli was probably better than the noodles. If in the area, there are many other thai restaurants that you can go to. The prices are about the same as well However, props for good ambience and a large menu that consists more than the«typical» thai noodle & curry dishes!

I must have gotten a subconscious yen(or should I say baht?) for Thai after reading the ROTD for Kob’s, so I stopped in a a place I have driven by 100s of times. Wow! The site is sketchy, between a Dunkin Donuts and a construction materials yard. The exterior is a bit tawdry and weathered. The inside belies that — softly lit, cloth on the tables, jazz playing in the background at a level that allows conversation. Pictures and wood carvings on the walls. The menu includes European options, but I wanted Asian. The Thai part of the menu lists the basic items with prices at the top depending on your choice of protein. I started with the Tom Kha soup with chicken. It didn’t look like much, a gratin bowl with pale milky liquid. Then I dipped my spoon and the magic happened. Ever changing layers of flavor, coconut, citrus, cilantro, chicken, mushroom, a bit of salt, just a hint of heat. All the traditional Thai flavors, nicely balanced. So how could the entrée beat that? Mussaman with beef. Yummy silky hunks of short rib. Onions just on the tender side of crispy/tender. Potatoes tender but not mushy. A beautifully complex brown sauce so sapid I literally went for the last drops with the serving spoon like it was soup. Although the menu did not have a pepper next to Mussaman, it had a good kick, 2⁄4 on the ShopHouse scale. When I come back I will be careful about asking for spicy. Iced tea was unexceptional. Service was both warm and efficient. Portion size was appropriate, neither stingy nor generous. $ 17.91 including tax, humungous value. How the bleep did this not make the Hidden Gems list? Highly recommended for an affordable date night given the ambiance, or just some excellent Thai food.

This place is not only the best Thai food I’ve ever had, it’s probably within the top 10 meals I’ve ever eaten. My Mom and I were staying in Greenbelt for a couple of days, and we found this place on Unilocal and figured we’d give it a go. It was so good we actually came back the next day for lunch before driving to the airport to fly home. The Tom Kha was really an incredible soup – the broth alone was so flavorful and complex, and the mushrooms and chicken only enhanced it. I need to get a recipe for this and make it at home. The sampler was a very good combination of appetizers, two of which were especially good – the Angel Wings and Summer Rolls were both to die for. The pad thai was a huge serving that Mom and I actually split for lunch on the second day(admittedly we also had several appetizers, soup, and dessert). The chicken yellow curry was a nice, flavorful curry, which I’m a little picky about. Definitely one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Leave room for dessert, because the black sticky rice dish they had was unbelievable. I could eat three servings of that, easily. I really, really recommend this place. Next time we’re down in the D.C.-Baltimore area, we’ll definitely go back.
