The Bar Method

When I first started The Bar Method, I was a bit nervous as id never taken anything like it before. Id been «athletic», exercised at the gym, jogged, swam ect. But I’d never had a workout quite like this one. It showed me muscles that I didn’t even know existed. 4 years later, it’s all I do besides cardio:). Instructors are super friendly and helpful:). Always clean, lockers to use (not cubbies) and class schedules are very accommodating, even to those of us who have a 9 – 5:) You’ll love it!

Needing a bit of a challenge and boost in my workouts, I decided to give Bar Method a chance. Signed up for the one month beginner’s special and have never looked back. Now into my fourth month… LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this workout, the studio and the instructors.
The instructors are AWESOME and extremely welcoming to newbies. By their enthusiasm when teaching a class, you can tell that they love what they do and are REALLY great in keeping you motivated and challenging yourself to get the results that you desire! I have been fortunate to train with Cindy, Danielle, Stacey, Laura, Jeanyne and Cheryl… and they all make a challenging workout A LOT of fun!
The evening classes are also great because it allows me to fit a workout in with my busy everyday schedule.

I love, love, love this studio. I’ve been to others (which were also awesome), but this one is seriously wonderful. There’s always a good energy amongst all the ladies and every single instructor I’ve had has been so great. The studio is clean and cool. This is one of few exercise classes (including the gym), that I don’t get sick of going to and actually look forward to. I feel like we really target the muscles that usually get neglected, and are the most important in achieving a gorgeous figure. Very happy! After two weeks I already see results. :)

I have been coming here consistently (3 – 4 times per week) for about 19 months and love the results. I appreciate the fast-​paced, whole-​body, in and out structure as well as the professional, informed, nice staff/​teachers.

I love this studio– the owner and instructors are all so kind and well-​trained in their craft! They each bring their special personality and tips to class. The studio is clean, and I find that the other students are always friendly. Sometimes classes are full, but if you get on the waitlist you usually get into the class. I started going when my son was an infant, and the child care was perfect! Though the monthly fee seems steep at first, it motivates me to attend often, and I find that the average per class end up being very inexpensive. On top of that, I LOVE the results! I feel strong and toned, and I notice changes in my body continually!

I love the bar method! I did ballet many years ago and it just touches on that fond memory every time I take a class. I enjoy the structure of the classes, how the teachers, like Stacey (my fav) take their time to correct your stance or posture, the burn you feel during the reps and the amazingly fast results you begin to see after only a few classes. The smallest movements with incredible kick, will just blow you away as to how well they actually work!
The bar method can completely change your body in the best way imaginable. You do a challenging work out and always follow with a stretch. I love that when you think you have become a bowl of noodles and you just can’t do anymore, the teachers get you to push yourself to do just one more thing! They are great and if I could afford it, I would go all of the time. Thank you for the motivation and always giving me the best work out every time I have come! This bar method will never disappoint you. It is an amazingly clean facility where you will get an incredible workout. Try it and I’m sure you will be impressed!

Love the Bar Method. I have been coming to this facility for over 5 years. Staff is awesome, place is clean and I attribute being in fabulous shape after having two babies to the workout. Cindy, the owner, is wonderful as well as all the teachers.

I have given the Bar Method a fair chance. I am already 6 weeks into first starting. I took advantage of their 99.00 new members special (great deal)
As a single mom who works I cannot think about anything better than this class. The instructors are so nice and newbie friendly. This one hour class makes me feel like I am getting the most effective workout in my very limited time. The great thing about his class is they are so accomodating to newbies. The intructors will correct you, but its not in a scolding way. If it were up to me I wish the instructors would correct me the entire class!
The day after my class I always feel sore. I love it!
I am not sure about the negative comments about Cindy or the staff. As far as I can see they are all so nice and not stuck up at all. They really make the effort to welcome and help you. I think maybe the previous reviewers went to a different class because everyone and the other students are so nice.
If you are new make sure to take a space in front of the class in front of the mirror. Get there at least 7 minutes early for a prime spot. Also bring a bottle of water. Also don’t worry about doing the wrong thing. Everyone is paying attention to themselves and not looking at you.

Love love love Bar! Awesome workout — it really does work! Staff here is amazing — they take time to help your form and you can tell they all really like what they are doing. If you haven’t tried Bar you must you will be addicted!

If I had lots of time and money, I’d do the Bar Method 3 times a week. The Bar method is a great way to tone and strengthen, not to mention improve core strength and posture. But, I need more cardio and can’t fit in both cardio and the Bar Method. The instructors are very professional and thorough… and they know everyone’s name.
I really hoped the childcare would work out for my child, as this was a big reason I went here. But, she really didn’t like it. The childcare staff wasn’t very welcoming or friendly, and I think she wasn’t fully comfortable and engaged in the setting. The good thing was that there were only 3 kids max, but it really didn’t suit my child.

I am in love with the Bar Method (and so is my family)!!! I have never looked so good and been in such great shape. I’ve always been a runner but I’ve never had defined muscles in my calves or thighs until now and it is all attributed to this great work out. It is definitely intense but the hour goes by quickly with the fun music and excellent teachers. Highly recommend this if you want to make a big improvement to your figure.

Bar method provides an amazing, 1 hour, full body workout. I love that it is low impact but very intense, and most importantly, it is extremely effective for slimming, strengthening, and toning muscles. The staff and patrons are all very supportive, positive, and friendly. Even when classes are large, I feel like there is a lot of personal attention and all the teachers are very professional, well trained, and attentive to details and form. It takes a huge amount of focus and you truly feel like you have accomplished a lot in an hour. Be prepared to see your muscles shake violently, and to push your physical and mental limits, and feel amazing afterwards. It has been a terrific journey so far, and I am hooked!

I am new to this method and will update my initial review after one month. So far it’s been one week — 6 classes in.
The studio itself is clean and very nice, with lockers for your personal belongings and childcare. Parking is never a problem as there’s a lot in the back as well. There are no showers, but this isn’t necessarily a sweaty workout.
It’s a very efficient, challenging workout. You will be sore for days, in a good way. If you want to work on on long lean legs and arms, this workout is for you. But, there is less stretching in between sequences than my body seems to need/​want. There’s not much flexibility with regards to scheduling classes — make sure you cancel in time and do it online — no last minute cancels or you lose a day/​class and they are apparently strict about it. Classes fill quickly — esp on weekends!
I wish they had a beginner or basics class, since it is a «technical» workout — it can take a while to get the position (s) and you might be holding a posture wrong/​not to it’s fullest point, for weeks without realizing. My understanding is that they recently eliminated the basics class. The instructors do adjust some of the time, but mainly they ask that you do exactly what they say/​listen to verbal cues — the problem is it can be hard to find the right muscles though!
Overall, a challenging workout. My arms are starting to look defined and my legs feel a lot tighter!

A phenomenal workout! Most of the teachers are good and the facility is clean (no showers). The studio is small though, and packed classes can be uncomfortable. At $ 200 a month for unlimited classes it’s pretty frustrating when you try to sign up for a class the evening before and it’s already full. Nonetheless, I keep going because I haven’t found as rewarding a workout elsewhere.

The best work out in the world! I am addicted. You literally work out every muscle in your body, specializing in your core. The instructors are really well-​trained to correct you so that you are working safely and getting the most of your session. I love that the classes are usually mixed ability and instructors tell students how to make it more or less challenging, depending on ability/​experience. You’ll have to try it to understand how amazing it is.

I really like the work out I get here, if I were to go tell you what the work out consists off, it would seem like nothing. But once you’re there, you realize that you use every single one of your muscles, and you walk out of there feeling like a million bucks. I have horrible posture, and this has helped.
The instructors vary, but they are all great, and they definitely help you out if they notice you’re doing something incorrectly. They also provide childcare (for a fee) during some of the daytime classes.

I have been coming here since May of 2008. Let me say it is addicting! Bar Method is a studio that uses a little bit of everything — pilates, yoga, and dance (your not doing any dancing). Some of the results you will see in your body are stronger core, shapely tones arms, thinner thighs, hard flat abdominals, and a firm lifted seat. I used to run a lot and the changes I saw from doing Bar Method made me give that up. It is intense but any age can do it!
