Pizza King

Three words come to mind. Terrible, dirty and expensive! Go anywhere else and you will get a lot more for your money. And much better tasting food. I cannot fathom why people like this place. Pappa Johns or pizza hut hands down better quality and better tasting food. Even dominos which is terrible pizza offers better value.

Pizza King has been a staple in the ‘castle for as long as I can remember. It’s experienced different owners over the years, but that hasn’t seemed to impact that quality of the food.
Despite being a mainstay in town and have a tasty BBQ chicken pizza, other pizza businesses have opened in the area, giving P.K. some friendly competition. These other pizza joints have quality and quantity.
I suppose everyone has their ‘favorite’ pizza place, but the King isn’t mine. Despite having some tasty items and a fairly large menu (pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, stromboli. etc.) I never feel like I get my money’s worth here. Note: they do have a lot of vegetarian options.
Pizzas are thin crust and the toppings are ‘thin,’ too. Too thin. Bummer. However, they do seem to have the baking process perfected. My pizzas are never overdone or undercooked. Yay!
Dine-​in service here has suited me just fine; I’m usually getting in and out in about 1 ½ hours or less. Wait staff is average. Restaurant itself had undergone a big renovation a few years ago, which really brightened the place up; bright and clean. A for atmosphere.
Definitely a family-​friendly dining establishment and great for larger groups.
Ultimately my 3.5÷5 (yes, I rounded up) star review is based on the mediocre food itself and the higher than average pricing (P.K. is a splurge IMO, given the pizza $ elsewhere). Pizza King wouldn’t be my first choice for grub, but it wouldn’t be my last either.
