I think this is one of the nicer Kohl’s, clean, well stocked, somewhat better staffed than other department stores. This is relative, across this genre of department stores, it seems they try to get more productivity out of less employees, gone are the days when the customer could count on the sales people with many years of experience who could assist without hollow artificial scripted responses. Here, I found friendly competent assistance without too much trouble, the lay out is sensible, the place is clean and bright. Still, I’m generally not comfortable in malls, so I somewhat prefer the freestanding Kohl’s storefronts.

This store is a mess! Not only that but when I asked to talk to a manager there was not ONE present. I will never shop at this location and drive the extra distance to go to a different one. Horrible customer service and terrible selection to choose from.

They always have great sales going on. They’re prices aren’t bad even if you don’t get a sale on something. You can also return items if you get them home and don’t like them anymore or realize it really wasn’t what you wanted. The service is great too. Lines may be long but they move them along quickly.

I really don’t care very much for Kohl’s. Their clothes don’t fit right and things are priced to high unless you can get it on sale. Unfortunately, every woman over the age of thirty-five insists on shopping here. This means that when my daughter’s birthday or Christmas rolls around, we end up with doubles of a couple things and almost always, they have Kohl’s receipts. You want to get that kid in your life something totally different or special? Just don’t buy it at Kohl’s, because oddly everyone wants to shop this department store for their limited selection of kids toys and clothes. How many«My Pal Violet» toys is my kid going to get this year? Anyways, they’ve always been cool about returning things even without the receipt, although they’ll give you the least amount they sell it for. So if you shop for kids at Kohl’s, make sure to include the gift receipt. Enough of my rambling! This store is well laid out across to levels. It’s fully stocked and well organized, so it gets points for that. Their customer service is great. Our checkout person was eager to greet us, even though he made the clichéd jokes about how I was«dragged along shopping» and how my wife«knows how to find the deals» until my wife had to correct him and tell him that I was pretty much a professional shopper who can always find good deals. The poor guy was then lost. He was still really nice, he just needs a joke book that was made in the last 5 years that accounts for the changing of gender stereotypes. Even though I don’t like to shop at Kohl’s, this might be my favorite Kohl’s to hardly shop at.

This Kohl’s is laid out over 2 stories rather than the usual flat layout of most standalone Kohl’s stores. The store today was a total mess, but I attribute that to the masses of people allowing their small kids to play in any and every department, pulling things this way and that. Service was ok, but could improve. I tend to shop at the Madison Kohl’s stores and know that this one isn’t up to snuff in comparison, but it was alright. The fiancé found a great pair of shoes on a very good sale, so it was a decent trip.

Kohl’s Southridge has come a long way in competing with other department stores both in and outside of the mall. Quality of merchandise and prices(especially clearance) have remained constant. Low-end designer duds are a welcome treat, too. I appreciate stores that reward loyalty(Kohl’s Cash), but their policies need to be consistent with those. They have associates who walk around greeting customers and asking if they need any help, which proved very useful to me a few times! Although it gets humorous after awhile, as one time I had to go back and forth to my car a few times only to get greeted by the same woman the same exact way as if she didn’t recognize me from 2 minutes ago… it’s forgivable. I’d rather have that as opposed to no acknowledgement whatsoever. There is a young man who walks around greeting customers and offering assistance where need be and he is the same pleasant person EACH time. That kid must never have a bad day! The only thing preventing me from giving a 5 star review is a couple times I have had negative experiences with the cashiers on 2 separate occasions. One involved Kohl’s Cash that I was told the cashiers could take even though they are expired and the other a return that I had the receipt for.

Kohl’s inside Southridge Mall has really improved over the years. They have recently remodeled and now the staff is so friendly and the store is so clean and organized. The cashier I had yesterday was an older gentleman who was just fantastic! His name was Lee and he was SO nice. We were also greeted by another woman walking around saying hello to people. They have a new strategy to have happy customers, that is what Lee was telling me. Well, based on my visit yesterday, I am a happy customer. Keep up the great work!
