Got here late on a Sunday. 20 minutes before they closed and they still took me. Didn’t cut any corners. Salon is clean and beautiful. Lots of chairs so wait isn’t long. Definitely will be back. !!

I treated a friend to a manicure for her birthday, and after doing some research around the are I found Lavish. I had no idea really where it was until we got there, seemed to be an odd spot in the mini-mall across from Southridge, but to our surprise the place was beautiful inside! We could not get over the awesome décor. The place was clean and all of the employees were polite. We had our manicures and the woman was awesome.(I can’t for the life of me remember her name, and i do not have the card she gave me with, a frequency card for a free service!) she was polite, held great conversation, and let us take our time with choices, etc. I would highly recommend this place, as the service, price, and product was just right!

I bought eyebrow threading Groupons for my sister and me after hearing her rave about how awesome eyebrow threading is. All I can say is that I’m glad I only bought it for one visit, and not two, since I’m pretty sure that getting my wisdom teeth out hurt less. In all fairness, though, that was 16 years ago, so it may not have hurt THAT bad, but close. Please understand that as I know that threading/waxing/etc feels different to different people, this review is more centered around the customer service aspect of the visit. First off, the rules part of the Groupon said that you had to make an appointment and mention the Groupon. So, I waited until I knew what my work/travel schedule would definitively be before calling to make the appointment… buuuuuuut, when I called they said that they only accepted walk-ins for the Groupons and ONLY Sunday-Thursday. Okay, I get that. You don’t want your busiest days taken up by Groupons, but that should have been stated before purchasing. So my sister and I arrive at the salon and were told that there was going to be a short wait. Since I needed a manicure, I decided to have that done while we were waiting. The girl that did my manicure was nice enough, but my while my cuticles look slightly better than before, they definitely don’t look like they were done by a professional. Also, they have a VERY limited selection of polish, so if you want a manicure/pedicure, I suggest bringing your own bottle or end up being stuck with their small selection. Okay, now for the threading. I told the girl that I just wanted my brows cleaned up. I don’t really have an issue with overgrown brows, but I just cannot pluck the few stray hairs on my own. All I have to say is that I get i.v. medication every week(meaning a needle in the arm) and that eyebrow threading had to be the most painful experience I’ve had all year. That’s including my 4 day, 6 i.v. hospital stay. It honestly felt like she was sawing at my face with a razor blade. After she was finished, she asked if I wanted witch hazel put on my brows, which I did to cool things off. My eyebrows were uneven afterwards, but the procedure hurt so much, I just had my sister tweeze out the hairs that were bothering me. The thing that REALLY irritated me was when I went to pay for my manicure. The receptionist told me that my total would be $ 15 for the manicure(threading was paid for through Groupon). I pulled out my credit card, only to be told that I would be charged an extra $ 1 in order to use the credit card. I take offense to that for the following reasons: 1. It is against Mastercard’s regulations to charge a customer in order to use a credit card. 2. There was nothing posted ANYWHERE stating this. At this point I was so annoyed and hungry, that I paid the fee and deducted it from the tip. I get that merchants have to pay for credit card usage. I work in the retail sector. However, it would be much better to offer a cash discount and give the customer an opportunity to save money, rather than tack on a fee when they are not expecting it. I should add that this is a full service salon. I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but who carries around $ 100 or more in cash these days? Overall, I found the salon to be just meh. Nothing special. I would have leaned towards 3 stars, but that unexpected $ 1 fee really left me feeling like I was being nickeled and dimed. Had they not charged that fee, I was prepared to tip the girl twice as much as I ended up leaving. Based on the level of customer service and just okay services, I don’t think I will return to this salon… even if they run another Groupon promotion, but that’s just me. Once you’ve turned me off with your customer service, I don’t return.
