The staff here are some of the nicest Friendly’s staff I’ve ever seen. They always go the extra mile to be personal and caring with customers, and the mood at this particular Friendly’s is a lot of fun, very laid back and a bit artsy, it’s very Greenfield. I wish they had more gluten free and vegetarian food options here, I had to stop going here once I started eating gluten free as I could find nothing to eat anymore except french fries. I used to love to get their build your own Boca burgers… delicious! Wish they would at least offer gluten free bread and a dedicated grill space so we could have grilled cheese or something. Or all-day breakfast with a gluten free pancake or waffle option, just something! Their bathrooms always were clean too and overall this was always a fun place for us to stop for a festive, affordable family comfort food meal.

The pepper jack burger here was fantastic, no over the top juices overflowing from the burger. The seating was fine, the mood was great and the food was lovey. Not a five star since it is part of a chain but it’s something to bring the family into for Dinner or Lunch.

I would love to give a good review because I’ve been going here since I was a kid but their service has gone downhill. Went there for their breakfast but because they kept us standing in the lobby area for so long(even though there were empty tables-just no staff paying attention) by the time they came to seat us it was 15 minutes before they officially stop serving breakfast and refused to serve us. We ended up getting lunch instead since we had no choice and we’re starving. It took about an hour for our meal to come and the food was awful(generally I get the same thing every time and it’s always the same but this time it was not). We weren’t the only ones unhappy as a guy at a nearby table actually walked out because his food was taking so long. And they weren’t even that busy, my guess is that they were poorly managed and understaffed. The waitress was also nowhere to be found and took forever to get our check. I tried to get take out on two different occasions also and their phone was endlessly busy, obviously the phone was left off the hook. They clearly need some better management before Greenfield loses another Friendlys.

As a couple of friends and I were heading home from a weekend spent in Vermont for a snowboarding trip, we passed by Friendly’s and decided to have our dinner here. Once touch walk in, it feels like fast food restaurant similar to iHops. There was a hostess that greeted and seated us. The designated waiter that was serving us was very friendly and had a sense of humor. He took care of everything in a manner full way and I was pleased with his service. For the food, my friend and I ordered the 2 for 20 deal where you can order 2 entrees with a choice of 2 desserts or just 1 appetizer. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for appetizer and a clam strip and cheddar steak melt sandwich. As for the others, they ordered a chicken salads. The mozerella sticks where mini ones and it tasted like they were the frozen ones just reheated in an oven; basically what you’d expect from a fast food restaurant. The cheddar steak sandwich was pretty good I’d say. It had a blend of southern tangy bbq sauce mixed into the steak with melted cheddar on nicely toasted bread qith butter. As for the clam strips, I’d say it wasn’t that great since it was mostly just breading more than the actual clam. Both our orders came with fries too but I wasn’t a big fan of it. I’d say you’re better off with waffle fries which were much crisper and had more taste. Lastly, I ordered dessert which was just a scoops of ice cream in a cup. It was the hunky chunky peanut butter chocolate. I’m a big fan of peanut butter and I really liked it. It’s one of the signature Friendly’s ice cream too.

Well. This was my first trip to Friendly’s, and it won’t be the last. As other reviews say, get Allen as your waiter. He’s the most gracious, kind, funny, genuine waiter with serious tats in Greenfield, if not the state. Upon entering, someone held the door for us. We took a seat immediately, where Alan met us and said ‘looks like the party has arrived’. And boy was it a party: we got extra extra-bendy straws, huge waters, and a huge menu selection. The food: golden waffle fries, normal fries, onion rings(these were just ok) and a very satisfying burger. During the meal, we heard about Alan’s recent date, fire pit, and tat plans for the future. We asked him about moving ice cream cake across the Canadian border, and he held our hands through the dilemma. When 3 out of 4 of us asked for buffalo sauce, he brought 4 out anyway, anticipating our desires. I tipped heavily. All in all, an amazing road stop gustatory escapade. Thank you Allan, burgeon forward.

Most of the Friendly’s are gone and certainly not missed. They have gone down hill. We were coming back from a long motorcycle ride and the choice was either McDonald’s or Friendly’s. The Greenfield Friendly’s was very good. Both the food, ice cream, and service. The bathroom needed a good cleaning but that was about it.

Completely renovated, the restaurant is immaculate, the staff completely retrained and wonderful. The food was delicious, fresh and meticulously plated. A HUGE improvement from the gross dining room, run-down kitchen, and snarky servers of decades past. Welcome back Mohawk Trail Friendly’s! Keep it up and don’t let us down!

The ice cream is delicious, but it’s always so messy when I go there. The employee’s uniforms at the to go window are literally covered in what I would guess is syrup or ice cream splotches. The prep table for the ice cream was the worst I’ve ever seen it, last time I was there. I’m sure it was busy and the employees are very nice, but it leaves a lasting impression when the work area and the employees are super sloppy.

A perfectly respectable Friendly’s. I’ve been here a couple of times, and I’ve always had decent food, good service and well-prepared meals. Zagat’s not rating the place any time soon, of course, but it’ll do to be going on with, as the British say.

I would never write a review about a franchise restaurant but I was quite impressed with a server that I had this morning. I live in W. Mass and was just visiting for a couple hours and needed to kill sometime. Allen was our waiter, He was really polite and took the time to tell me some spots in Greenfield that I could check out. He even drew a map for me which was extremely thoughtful. He is a very sweet guy and Friendly’s should be thrilled to have him as apart of his team. After reading some of the reviews, I was quite shocked. Our food came out pretty fast and our service was really good. I would stop by again if I come to the area again.

Last night we decided to get Friendly’s to go and have to say that we were less than impressed by the service. When we ordered our food the person over the phone was really polite and professional. When we got to the restaurant to pick up our meals, that was a completely different story. The waitress who met me at the door was again polite, and I believe she was the person who took my order. As she was trying to ring me up, the staff members in the kitchen were being extremely loud, disruptive, and were making it difficult for her to cash out. The worst person out of the bunch was an older man who was cooking with the younger staff members. He continuously yelled at the staff, even when there were guests near the door. This to me is unbearable because it is not only rude to the guests, bus is degrading to the staff. After I purchased our meals, the waitress thanked us, and politely moved along. When we got home and opened our to go boxes were were surprised to see that out BBQ Chicken Supermelts were covered with little pieces of burnt food that came from their grill. After we wiped those off, the sandwiches were OK. When we have gone to this particular Friendly’s in the past we have spent forever there waiting for our food. I think that overall the wait staff is great, but there needs to be something done in the kitchen, because they are struggling to put out some quality food.

I like Friendly’s because they still have meals I had as a kid, and the ice cream is really good. The problems with this location is they never have enough waitresses for the tables when I am there. I also think this place NEEDS an update!

Stopped by this Friendly’s on the way home from Mt. Snow and we got exactly what we wanted, an inexpensive breakfast served in under 45 mins. I ordered a combo dish with pancakes(pretty sure they were nuked), scrambled eggs and sausage. Typical for a Sunday, the Friendly’s crowd consisted of young families and senior citizens. If I was reviewing this location for lunch or dinner, I’m sure it would’ve gotten 3+ stars.

40 minutes to get our food? While we waited for our food, shivering with the AC blasting in the middle of the summer we asked our waitress if we could at least get the AC turned down(4 out of 6 tables I could see had someone rubbing their arms to fend off the cold). Her answer shocked me. The corporate office(far far away) put a lock on the thermostat and have assured everyone that the temperature is just right! Have you ever heard of anything more insane? Someone needs a good firing high up on the Friendly’s chain about the AC, and someone needs a swift kick in the butt in Greenfield if they can’t handle a diner rush without a 40 minute delay.

I have been visiting this Friendly’s since I was a baby. Every year on my family trips to and from Vermont, we would stop here. Year after year, I watched as things decline. First the menu, then the service, I’ve always wondered what caused the problems. I still can’t figure it out. Last week we were helped by a really nice waitress who’s name is that of a car manufacturer, she was friendly and helpful. No complaints about service this time. However, the food on this recent visit was awful. Portions were off, the food was unbelievably greasy and cold. I was really let down. Next year I’ll be stopping across the street, or on the other side of the round-a-bout, at the Chinese buffet.
