Just like being south of the border, in the best way possible. Fresh torta bread from across the street, fresh corn tortillas, perfectly cooked al pastor and pollo. A great place to stop at when passing through Greenfield

Some of the best tacos I’ve EVER had, and I really love tacos. It’s a total hole in the wall and they don’t speak English, but it doesn’t matter. Go anyway. I’m so happy my fiancé convinced me to stop here instead of McDonalds — we will definitely be back next time we’re on the road!

Awesome little stop after our hike. The food was really good, very authentic, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended this little taqueria. Cash only folks so come prepared.

This was a perfect hold-in-the-wall tacqueria. Pay in cash, order in Spanish, and count how many beers you take from the open cooler so they can bill you accordingly. Excellent flavors, especially the frijoles and picante chorizo.

AMAZING food. My husband and I stopped in on our way back home from up north. It was so good and reminded me of my great grandmothers cooking. It was very clean inside. The corn tortillas are fresh and homemade. So we got a dozen to go! Definitely worth the stop!

Truly a hidden gem. I remember living in Guanajuato Mexico and you could walk down to these places called«cocinas economicas». This place reminds me of those places. It feels like you walked into your aunts kitchen and she just wants to fill your belly. The décor is dated and the Dolphins on the walls are a bit much, but the food gives you tunnel vision. The fresh tortillas and akward setting set this place apart. Eat here.

My favorite taqueria in town! They make the tortillas for your tacos when you order. So fresh and delicious. Only down side is the taco only comes with one tortilla, not the traditional two. So for someone like me who can eat a lot, it can get pricey because it takes more tacos to fill me up :) Other than that, this place is amazing. It’s like I’m back eating in Mexico.

The food was fresh, and the family running it was friendly– they even let my dad hold the baby! I couldn’t make heads or tales of the hanging«menu», but the lady behind the counter pointed at something and I took her suggestion. Turns out they were piping hot, fresh, delicious chile rellenos! Win. We were all very happy with our meals. They even have Tamarindo Jalisco– my favorite! The place is clean and well lit, and what it lacks in ambience it makes up for in good food. Counter order, about 8 tables in the whole place, but we were the only customers there in the middle of a Friday. Don’t expect a lot of English in this place, but they were super friendly and nice and we got along just fine with my broken Spanish and their English. My recommendation, just walk in and ask for whatever they have on special. You won’t go wrong!

Absolutely delicious! If I’m ever on the road down South again there is no question I’ll stop. The food was amazingly fresh, the prices were great, and the service was amazing… …but this is not a table service restaurant. This is a tiny family run hole in the wall with a menu no bigger than this paragraph. All the employees spoke Spanish(with very little English) so speaking Spanish is key! I had the tacos al pastor and they were straight up delicious. Not too spicy, tons of flavor, and made right to order. I could have eaten 20 of them… and at $ 1.50/ea who wouldn’t? This place deserves the excellent reviews it has been given, no question.

Still haven’t found the perfect lunch spot on the way home from the central coast, but this place did the trick today — cheap, good, quick, and close enough to the 101. Played it safe with a bean and rice burrito. Baby had a quesadilla, which you can’t really mess up, and they didn’t. Seemed pretty clean to us.

This place is solid. On a trip down the 101, made a stop by Greenfield to grab some tacos. I have never stopped by Greenfield, it’s always been just another sign on the freeway, sort of in the middle of nowhere. The people who work here are super friendly. Not much English is spoken, but enough to order. Tacos will run you a buck fifty each, which isn’t too bad for the amount you get. Order at the counter and pay when you’re done eating. I love the al pastor tacos on with everything on it. The corn tortillas are super fresh and delicious. The meat is so flavorful and filled with flavor. I’m definitely trying the tortas and getting more tacos the next time I’m in the area!

Leave it to a ghost town like Greenfield to have the best beans and rice I’ve ever had… the beans have a unique white coloring and go perfectly with some of the freshest spanish rice you’ll ever taste. Tacos are $ 1.50 and served on corn tortillas that are made-to-order. This place is the real deal. No one in here speaks more than a few words of English. You order your food at the counter, grab your drinks from the cooler, and pay at the counter when you’re finished eating. If you brave a trip to the restroom, you’ll see where the women prepare their meat dishes(amongst baby cribs and broken appliances). If you want delicious, cheap(ish) Mexican food and don’t mind questionable sanitary conditions, then this is the place for you! I can’t wait to come back here!

Lovely taqueria, easily reached from 101. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. Our pastor burrito and tacos were delicious. If stop here again!

If you are looking for authentic food at a great price this is it. Orders are taken at the counter, not at the table, and drinks(beer and soda) are grabbed from the refrigerators. Table service is not necessary here and should not be expected. There isn’t a waitress because grandma is busy cooking and well, she and her sister run the whole place. This Taqueria is very clean and sanitary. The food is fresh and the flavors are vibrant. I had 3 pastor tacos(small fresh handmade tortillas to order) with rice and beans that were excellent.

Greenfield? On my way up the 101 to San Francisco for a long weekend and wanted to find a place to eat other than the usual fast food. I wandered in, both of the cooks were sitting in the restaurant, reading, talking or passing time waiting for a customer. we ordered two tortas, an order of rice/beans, and two soft tacos and a beer. Total came to approx $ 20, not sure if they saw my Los Angeles license plates and jacked the price up a few $$. It was ok in a pinch, the place was clean, staff somewhat friendly. Let me know what you all think.

While driving down 101 there is always the temptation to stop at the usual fast food establishments. However, with just a small bit of effort much better food can be found. My family and I stumbled upon Taqueria Las Fuentes in Greenfield. The tacos are good and on fresh tortillas. The salsa is nice and spicy. Everyone left satisfied

Downtown Greenfield definitely feels like it could be the home of some authentic Mexican food — the businesses are mostly Mexican. I decided to stop for some tacos. I was impressed that the corn tortillas for the tacos aren’t made till you place your order. She pinches off some masa and makes each tortilla by hand. Order at the counter, grab a bottled drink and find a table. The kitchen is filled with equipment that doesn’t seem to be used(hot dog warmer, vertical grill). It’s a fairly large place with a TV and plenty of places to sit. I was the only customer. I had two tacos, al pastor and lengua(tongue). The lengua was seasoned well and tender. I didn’t like the watery salsa though(and it wasn’t spicy). The corn tortilla is small and softer than usual. You get one tortilla per taco. The al pastor consisted of small, slightly crispy chunks of pork. I thought it was a bit too salty and too dry. The flavor/marinade didn’t stand out. Tacos are $ 1.50 with your choice of meat(al pastor, asada, lengua, cabeza, chorizo), onions, cilantro, salsa and a lemon wedge. Tortas are $ 3 and they also have menudo, burritos, quesadillas, and chile rellenos. If they improved the salsa, this place would be really good.

I stopped here on my way from Berkeley to Santa Barbara. I felt like I had driven too far and ended up in Mexico. The whole of Greenfield is rather empty, but all of the stores and restaurants that I saw were Mexican, most of them with all of the lettering in Spanish. I got here around 12:45pm, but there was no lunch crowd. I was by myself. And it actually seemed like this place was just preparing for opening later. I don’t know what lunch time is in Greenfield, but this was not it. Still, I had one very tasty burrito.
