So we just tried to eat at Best Diner after reading reviews on Unilocal.I’ll never go back. We walk in, sit down, order drinks & look over the menu. We’re ready to order. Our server pulls up a chair to sit down with the table behind us & completely ignores us. We left without trying the food.

Been to Best Diner a couple of times in my 20+ years living in Greensboro. Both times I was unimpressed. It’s hardly the best diner in town as some here have said and sometimes the service borders of plain bad. Head to the Carolina Diner at Quaker Village instead IMHO. The Good: * The atmosphere — Friendly & clean * The menu — lots to choose from The Okay: * Prices — About what you’d expect * Elder friendly — Lots of older folks eat here The Could Be Better: * All food is under seasoned. The soup, the fries(have none). Flavorless tomatoes, bland bacon, etc * Soup served warm not hot * Club sandwich had onions! I mean who serves a club with onions on it? Make sure to tell them to leave them off if you’re not expecting I gotta try their breakfast to try and balance out their lackluster lunch experience. Hopefully it’s better.

The two ladies on the grill are great. I live right next door to the best diner, I’m not a regular. I have been three times before in the last three years, always dissapointed. Vowed I would not go back. But then too late to cook syndrome got me and I did go back. This time I was very pleased. The food was on point. Diners dont sell gourmet food. But its far away from the” cheese fries«that was microwaved with one slice of cheese on top that I got on my last visit,(rubbery and gross) or the so hard it’s stale bread on my Philly steak the visit before. I could go on and on but the fact is, Much better food quality now. Thanks. Great Job! Now if they would train the servers a little more on cross contamination and sanitation, I just might become a regular.

The Best Diner is an institution. No other place in town like it. You have to realize that the Best Diner should be approached as an experimental performance art piece, rather than as a restaurant. The performers commit to providing an intensely surreal otherworldly experience unmatched by the likes of Denny’s, or Yoko Ono. I found The installation that resembles a hand dryer in the bathroom especially unnerving.

Food is decent however because of the service I will no longer be a patron. I’ve only been twice and both times I didn’t feel welcomed. Jessica who took my to go order today was extremely rude on the phone when I called back to cancel my order she told me I couldn’t come there anymore. I went in to pick up the order and told her she didn’t have to talk to people that way over the phone and she rolled her eyes and proceeded to ignore me when I asked for her name. I won’t be returning the food is too mediocre to have to deal with poor service. Best of luck to those that go.

Great prices and good food. Convenient, friendly staff, always a full cup of coffee… but silverware comes in plastic bags and they are always still wet.

This was my first visit to this establishment. The service was excellent the prices were good but the hash browns in my opinion could have stayed on the grill, they were kind of cold and not at all crunchy. The atompshere is on par with other diners I have been to in the area. If there were half star ratings it would be a 2 and half. Also from what I can tell there is no biscuit and gravy or country fried steak on the menu what kind of diner does not have these two staples.

Had breakfast here recently. As diners go, this one is pretty typical of so-so food found in several Greensboro diners. The eggs were overcooked and dry/spongy, the hash browns were greasy and could have stood a few more minutes on the griddle, and the toast was limp like bread and appeared to have been toasted by a lighted match. Needless to say, I was not impressed with this meal, but I may give them another shot later on(and order something different), if I’m in the area. On the other hand, the wait staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly, which helped to make up for the less than satisfying breakfast. One thing that I really hated was the silverware in a plastic bag. I know that seems picky, but it was wet and didn’t seem very sanitary to me. Sorry to have«cheated» on my favorite diner in town, Smith Street Diner, where I have always had a good meal, breakfast or lunch.

Food is OK. People are friendly… But the seats are not clean! The flatwares are wet in the plastic bag.

Obsessed with this place. Th cheeseburger sub is PHENOM. It’s cut up cheeseburger, Swiss cheese and mayo on a sub bread! It’s heavenly. The chocolate chip pancakes are tasty. They also have a great potato soup. The waitresses are always super nice. Love it.

This is a really great diner for a quick brunch! My husband and I stopped to eat this morning. I had the biscuit n’ gravy & bacon. It was all very tasty. Hubby enjoyed an egg and cheese biscuit. Our server was a very nice young lady who brought our drinks and food quickly. We will be returning soon!

Best spot for late nights. Food is typical diner food. Not spectacular and not bad. Service is fast. Prices are good.

Gotta love best diner! The waitresses are always so nice and the food is cheap! You’ll get full and won’t pay a fortune. The wings are good and I also really enjoy the chop steak.

I think this is one of the best breakfast joints in Greensboro. Not fancy but the food is good and plentiful

I’ve enjoyed my experiences so far, choose carefully because the Menu is Huge… Everytime I’ve been there, they seem to do good business! I’ve visited twice and have not had a bad experience yet, just always looking at what other people order like… damn I shoulda got that lol!

Well Reggie and I was going to go to out usual breakfast/brunch spot Carolina’s Diner, but they was full so we decided to try something new. O how that was a mistake. At first I wasn’t sure if you sat yourself because the majority of the tables were dirty. As we sat ourselves down we was greeted by a nice young lady. She took our orders and it seemed like the food came out like in 5 minutes. The service was quick I must admit, but the food was just blan. I think this place is full of regulars and I won’t be one of them.

As diners go, this place is fantastic. They have no trouble remembering your orders and service is usually fast and friendly! They have a limited vegetable selection, so if you’re trying to eat healthy, this is not the way to go! Being open 24⁄7 also adds to the appeal!

Greensboro has a ton of independent diners and this is as the name suggests, one of the best, in my opinion. It was always packed on Friday and Saturday nights. There was usually a pretty big church crowd on Sundays too. I frequented the place all the time in college and even after when I lived downtown. The greasy goodness in the form of the lite breakfast favorite with bacon kept calling me back. Plus, it was clean and cheap. While the food may not be that exciting, I’ve seen some crazy stuff go down at this place — several diners and dashers and a shooting happen across the street. Perfect timing to have comfort food there at hand…

We had breakfast here this morning, first time we’d been in in a while. The service was excellent, order taken quickly, coffee and water came quickly as well. Coffee never came close to empty. The eggs were cooked as requested, the toast nicely done, as were the pancakes my wife ordered. The bacon was a little over cooked, anf the sausage patties are the thin, little taste kind — wouldn’t order it again. And they do need to turn down the A/C or turn on the heat, most of the waitresses were wearing sweatshirts. They have a special of 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, and 2 pancakes for about $ 3.50, but it was week days only — in fact, they don’t have specials on the week-ends, which is not real cool. All in all, not bad, but not spectacular either.
