I am not a regular review writer but after the poor customer service and lack of attention I experienced today 29 Nov 15 I cannot believe this store is still open. After waiting 30 minutes at the gun counter and not being acknowledged once, not even a «be with you in a minute» I left. There was only one employee who had no sense of urgency or customer service. You’d think with the amount of merchandise and it being the holiday season this store would want to make as many sales as possible. Before leaving I had to make an exchange; a sweatshirt I had purchased a few days before. The employee working the cash register didn’t make eye contact or say a single word to me and the computer was having a delay… waiting at the counter for 5 minutes for the computer to work and not a single word from the employee. After moments of waiting and no communication from the cash register employee I finally asked«Is something the matter» with a response of «I’m waiting for the computer» in a snappy attitude. I couldn’t believe it… Once the transaction was complete I received a simple«here you go» from the employee. Also, she failed to remove the anti-theft device… Needless to say Gander Mountain will no longer be receiving any of my money if this is how they treat their customers.

This store must be going out of business because they had less than HALF the selection that they used to have. Staff was not helpful or even available. I have always disliked the register setup.

I have purchased and sold guns, knives and ammunition for years through GM. They are fair and very easy to work with. When my brother in law died a few years ago, the experts at GM helped us grade and price his extensive shotgun collection– gratis. Two employees took time to research the value of some rather exotic European long guns and did not as much as suggest a charge. These are good people who understand the store/customer interface.

Went to Gander Mountain looking for no specific firearm. Craig was the employee that assisted me in the unknown search for a rifle. He immediately asked to help me look at the rifles and then discussed the difference in the quality of the brands and Calibers with me. He sold me exactly what I wanted and helped me get ammo and accessories that would fit. He was professional, quick to assist, and knowledgable about the guns. Excellent employee. Service was just as I expected. I will return the that Gander Mountain for future purchases.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I called about a firearm and was told that I would need to come in to order it. That’s fine. I made the 40 minute drive to order the gun I wanted. When I got there I was told that I needed to go home and order it from … What? The funny thing is that I ordered a gun from them last year with no problem, now all of a sudden it’s a problem to take care of a customer? After speaking to the manager, I was informed that indeed I could order my gun in the store. At that point, I had already decided to spend my money elsewhere. They don’t need to worry about trying to satisfy this customer, because I won’t be back. If you are looking for outdoor equipment, go to Dicks. Or, throw the old lady in the car and drive to Charlotte. You can drop her off at IKEA and then you can go to Bass Pro Shops.
