Been coming here since middle school. In my mid-20s now and still come back :) This is the best tasting Japanese take out you can ever get at really great pricing.

The owner was very rude. Ask to put half fried rice and half white rice — was told no I couldn’t do that.ask.if I could substitute the vegies for extra rice again told no. There were kids and the owner all behind the counter eating. Food itself — was good. There’s other places who would appreciate my business. This place apparently does not. I want be back.

2nd time here. Still aMazing food and service. good food and fast service. The white sauce is too amazing with the seafood. Just can’t hesitating to keep filling the white sauce. Hope I don’t get charge on this. Lol!

The hibachi was«eh». Very rubbery chicken and undercooked vegetables. Comments I’ve read after we ate here are true — people call ahead, show up and get their food very quickly, many ate at the table with their to-go boxes. If you’re a patron in the area who randomly stops in for some hibachi… be prepared to wait 30 or more minutes for your food — as you watch everyone stroll in with their call ins ready Staff are quite unfriendly as well. There are other hibachi places we will choose over this one every time. Respect that others do enjoy this place, just not our thing.

Service: Crappy. They are rude and impersonal. Food: Great! However, they have cut back on the size of the meat portions you get. You only get about half of what it use to be.

The price you pay and the portion you get for hibachi is pretty unbeatable. The service is OK and sometimes they may seem stand off-ish and I could see how people would find it rude but it doesn’t bother me that much. Also, how cramped it is in there can be awkward sometimes but you’re paying $ 5 for hibachi chicken, you’re not paying for japanese steakhouse service and environment here. I’m a fan of Kobe for what it is. If you’re really hungry though you should probably call 20 minutes ahead.

I discovered Kobe of Japan about 6 years ago thanks to my husband. I appreciate their chicken teriyaki plate when I want hibachi-style food, but not all of the theatrics and wait time for a standard teppanyaki restaurant. This is definitely my go to place for that kind of food when I’m visiting the in-laws in Greensboro. 9 times out of 10, we make a pit stop at Kobe before we head back out of town. Wait Time: It doesn’t take very long — maybe 15 – 20 minutes for your order. Truth be told, I order my food on the phone and leave the house shortly after calling. By the time I arrive, the food is nice and hot waiting on me. If you go on the weekends, don’t be surprised if there’s a long line of people in the restaurant or if it looks stuffy. Just walk past them and ask for your order, assuming you called ahead. Otherwise, prepare to be in the slew of people waiting in line! Taste: I’ve only ordered the chicken or the steak plate — no other meats. Both chicken and steak are pretty good. I don’t require additional seasonings and the meat is pretty tender. Veggie wise, they give you ample onions and zucchini and maybe 2 – 3 Slices of carrots. I’m not a big onion fan, but these are manageable. They’re rice is pretty decent. Their«white sauce» is AWESOME! I love it. You do have to go and pump the sauce into 2oz containers for yourself, but there’s no limit to how many you can get. Price: it’s a decent price. I think we pay about $ 7 – 8 per combo plate and you get a GOODSIZE portion. Definitely enough for two meals.

Would I be back for some not-cooked rubbery chicken with mushy fried rice and veggies ? Hell To the No. I have noticed this place from my past visits to sweet frog, and its always Super duper crowded. On my visit there were barely any empty tables to take and eventually we found one after 10 mins. We stuck to the basics and ordered teriyaki ckn, and it took about 30 minutes to get it. While waiting, i have noticed almost all the people in the restaurant grabbing 6 – 7 cups of white looking sauce and wondered what it was . When asked the lady told me its simply called white sauce, and when added on rice it immitated Halal guys ckn & rice bowl. The teriyaki sauce on our ckn was runny like water, and ckn itself was rubbery and undercooked. Only best part was the white sauce.

Very good food here. Sometimes you want hibachi food, but you don’t want to sit down at a hibachi grill place, so Kobe get the job done for that circumstance. The prices are pretty unbeatable whether you go there for the lunch specials or even dinner. The staff isn’t that attentive, but they get the job done, so no reason to complain. Call ahead and place your order because if you wait and order there, you’re probably going to be in for a long wait. But overall, it’s a good food place to go.

Went in for lunch today with co-workers. The cashier had an attitude from the start. We ordered the lunch special, steak and zucchini. Upon waiting 20 minutes for our food, the steak that was served was under-cooked, and bloody. We took the plates back up to the counter to let them know that the steak was under-cooked, and the cashier again displayed an attitude. The last time I checked, if I am paying for something I have the right to have it cooked correctly. Then… the cook proceeds to rake the steak off of our plates with the forks that were on our plates, and puts all of the steak in one pile back on the grill!!! Disgusting!!! When we saw this, we went back up to the counter and told the cashier that we wanted a fresh meal, she argued that we we not going to get the same steak back, but that we were getting new steak. Why the hell would you put the same steak back on the grill then if you were not planning on serving it!!! Then the cook puts the new steak on the same plates that we had(no new rice and vegetables/cold at this point)!!! Needless to say, we will never return to this disgusting, unsanitary, repulsive, so-called Japanese restaurant ever!!! And we advise everyone to stay away, unless you want to get sick!!!

I suggest calling ahead of time and placing your order so it is ready when you get there. I dinned it but it was crowded and small so I suggest doing take out. The specials are great! They feature good food, its really cheap, and portions are good.

Definitely call ahead to order. Otherwise you are dealing with 15 to 20 min waiting on food. The food is awesome! I love the chicken mushrooms. Customer service is not that great. Hardly ever a friendly person to check you out. The food is the only reason I keep going back there.

We walked in and the cashier was eating a bowl of food behind the counter at the register. Without a friendly greeting or smile she took our order and we paid. It didn’t take them very long to make our food which was nice, however they definitely close exactly at 9. We were stared down by the employees and it was so uncomfortable that we packed up our food and left. The food was just ok; I have definitely had better. This was our first time here so I have nothing else to base my rating on, however I probably will never go back.

Kobe of Japan has excellent food at a good price which for me equates to a good value. I go at leads one time per week and get hibachi chicken and vegetables. There is an inconsistency in pricing depending on who rings you up, you may get a drink as part of your meal, or they may charge you a drink price(about $ 1.15) Also, don’t go here if you want somewhere to sit down, as your likely not going to find a spot. Your best bet is to order ahead about 20 minutes. You’ll receive a number you’ll need to remember for your pickup. Enjoy!

The food is consistent with other hibachi take-out restaurants, and the prices are a bit cheaper. I’m not at all bothered by the fact that the employees aren’t very friendly, because the whole experience requires VERY little interaction with them. My only complaint is the layout of this small space. The drink station and sauce station are cramped and inaccessible during busy hours, and there’s not really even space for a short line to form in that area. I could see how the(sometimes lengthy, sometimes short) wait times here might not be ideal for people with a fixed time for a lunch break. I’ve never gone when I was in a hurry or stressed out, so I’ve never been upset about that.

The food is good if not great but the service is a bit slow. I would probably not go here if it wasn’t the cheaper prices than the competition in the area. The cashier is kind of unfriendly. Otherwise I can’t really complain.

Stopped here for lunch and had the Filet and Big Shrimp. It was cheaper than other restaurants I’ve been too like this in the area and the food was really good! Great portions of both filet and shrimp and both tasted delicious!

I will echo everyone else… The food is great and very comparable to Kabuto or Arigato without the price and performance of the cooking at your table. The place gets packed and will seem slow. I suggest a call ahead rather than eat in. It will be quicker and you wont have the headache of waiting. Yes, you will more than likely wait for a while if you choose to eat in. Do take out and this place is great. They lose a star for being slow. But great food and relatively cheap.
