Terrible service. Super inattentive waitstaff. Nobody at the hostess station. Looking up, the ceiling is covered in a layer of dust. Some of the lights are looking like dusty chia pets, and the ceiling fans are whirling their dusty blades right above tables. How this place obtained a 97.5 rating from the department of whatever is totally beyond me. Super dirty place, I can’t even believe I stayed and ate there. Do yourself a favour and skip it.

Went to this place for lunch. We had a large group of 8 people. The place was not busy. However, it took forever for us to get our food. I ordered a grilled chicken pita. It was alright, nothing to rush back for. The server did not go out of her way to be sure we had what we needed. More like a bar than a lunch place. I would not go out of my way to go back.

Best burgers and casual atmosphere. Sports bar with karaōke thrown in. I usually get my burgers to go

This place is a bit of a dive bar but for catching a lot of games on the many tv’s it makes a great sports bar. Also, the food is surprisingly good. Don’t expect great service and be prepared to flag down a waitress even at slow times but if you’re in the mood for an old school dive/sports bar experience this is the place.

Tonight was my 3rd time getting carry out there. I’ve never eaten in because it definitely«smells» like a bar & I live 2 minutes from the place. Tonight I got the Dirty South burger(a chili burger w/slaw) and asked them to either hold the coleslaw or put it on the side. They put it ON the burger, which is pretty gross to me on a Chili burger. Speaking of chili, I guess the notion of chili was addressed in the kitchen, because the essence was there, but no Actual chili… unless it all seeped into the burger? The bun was hard & the burger was not even warm. Not sure how that happened — 2 minutes from my house, remember? However, the onion rings are really magnificent there. A little salty for my personal taste, but I think the average o-ring lover would really dig them, hence 3 stars instead of 2. I need to expand my horizons beyond this local joint.

The atmosphere was quite enjoyable — on the evening we visited, we were entertained by Irish fiddle music, which added to the«British pub style» atmosphere. Food was plentiful and delivered as expected — everything from the Fried Pickles, which were hot, crisp and served with a tasty remoulade — to the juicy burger, cooked to order and flavorful. Even the kids Chicken Tenders seemed freshly prepared, bountiful and tasty. One comment — the serving staff did seem a bit off — I couldn’t tell whether they were flustered, stressed or just lacking in social skills — but our experience was that they did not exude the friendly attitude that would build loyalty and repeat visits. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant evening, and if management can work on the server’s hospitality, I think it would gain a star.

Went today for the first time [Sunday 5pm] for a burger and was really surprised. I’ve tried 44 different burgers around town so far this year and this was at least a top 4. The big thick patty was juicy and delicious and perfectly cooked. The cheese was very melted and gooey and likely broiled or added early to get good and melty. The fresh [yeast ?] bun was toasted and warm and the toppings were fresh and attractive. Plenty of napkins were used to keep dry. Awesome. Some are not a fan of the crinkle-cut fries but I am. The were perfectly cooked, seasoned and piled high. As a part of the #52burgerProject I give very high marks and think this is clearly the best bar burger I’ve had. Im sorry, but if yours sucked in the past, I recommend you try again. Staff was efficient and friendly. Daily specials vary. If you want to eat and drink in a casual dimly lit bar with sports on TVs then you’ll find no place around here any better, burger-wise that is. Cheers. ps: The 4 stars is for the burger. The rest of the experience isn’t really 4 star worthy, but you knew that, right?

New menu shows promise. The food choices were getting a little stale as well as the lack of healthy options. Looks like the new owners have heard opinions and actually made some drastic changes. There are now seafood and flat bread options. The entrees rise up to near 20 a piece and the food descriptions seem great. Seems like most choices have been improved by far.

We tried this for lunch today on a whim. We were craving burgers and decided to go based on Unilocal reviews. I ordered the My Thai burger with regular fries. I was very satisfied with my burger. Cooked to perfection. Loved the sauces and the bun was delicious. I was a little disappointed with the fries. I had hoped they would be hand cut fries, but instead got frozen crinkle cut fries. However they were cooked well and seasoned well. While we had waited on our food(a little slow considering there wasn’t a crowd) we noticed the air return vent overhead our table. I was disgusted! It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the restaurant had been first opened! It made ya a bit nervous as to what the kitchen looked like and how clean our food preparation would be. Overall we were satisfied with our first trip to the restaurant. We would recommend the owner have his staff do some major cleaning which is usually expected out of a place you eat food. Just saying.

You never try places close to you, so on that note my husband and I decided to try the neighborhood bar for some bar food dinner. It was a beautiful evening so we thought we would take advantage of the perfect day and eat outside. The only problem with that choice was McPherson’s allows smoking outside. The air was thick with smoke. So we decided to opt for stale air AC. The food when served correctly was decent, neither great or bad… just average. However, both my husband and I were not served the correct sides. When we brought it to the waitress’ attention, she said:” I put it down correctly they got it wrong”. There was no sorry or an attempt to correct the errors. All in all found this an adequate neighborhood go to place .but not a place I will go to often.

In the past couple of years I have discounted McPhersons as an option for beer, wings, etc due to the owners/management. Recently the ownership has changed hands and the service and attitudes amongst the service staff seems to be so much better. So with this information in mind, we stopped by this evening in hopes of a cold beer, great wings and even better service. We received all three. What a difference positive leadership makes. Do not think I will be a regular but I will definitely keep this little watering hole in mind for a Sunday evening.

Went because website listed the Tuesday night special as $ 6 burgers. Got to the restaurant and the menu stated the special is now $ 7, and somehow my husband and I paid $ 7.75 for our burgers which we were told would qualify for the special. Just wanted to get out of there so paid the bill without question. I had the fries — ever have Ore Ida fries? That’s what they’re like. My husband ordered the chips, recd fries, waited forever for the chips and they were a huge disappointment. We won’t go back. The burger was mediocre. Just too many good burger places in GSO to waste our money there.

The service was awful. It was very very very bad service!!! Our food was supercold not because it came from the kitchen that way because we saw it waiting for us it was the waitress who was FLIRTINGWITHCUSTOMERS& with the band and too busy to go get it to bring it to us. We waited 15 minutes for the check. Another 15 minutes for her to come and pick up the check until I got out of my seat and took it to her. Yeah I won’t be going back!!!

As far as a music venue goes, this place rocks! As far as a bar goes, they’ve got what it takes. The kitchen, however, needs a facelift. I came here with a friend of mine for food & beverages. We felt good about the drinks and their prices, but the food just wasn’t up to par. Neither of us could finish our food. I got pretzels and queso. The pretzels were good, the queso had no taste. My friend got the cheese sticks. Seriously, who messes up cheese sticks? Stick to the drinks and the music, and you’ll be good as gold!

This place isn’t terrible but it’s also not very awesome. Perhaps it was an off night but the service was pretty lackluster. We had 3 people in our party and first we were taken to a table with only 2 chairs, after realizing their mistake we were taken to a table with only 1 chair… We then were told to just stand at that table and wait for a table to become available. I was a bit annoyed at that point. After being seated our waitress was slow to come get drink and food orders, food took forever to arrive, and my food arrived with the wrong side. The food itself was just ok, steak not prepared quite right and salad was a bit warm for my liking. I see there are some good reviews so perhaps this restaurant was just having an off night. I don’t anticipate us trying this place again anytime soon.

I’ve been here on numerous occasions and I must say the food and service is always good to great! Regina, one of the bartenders, is Top Notch! The Wings and Fajitas are my favorite dishes and the craft beer selection is good too!

I may be a bit biased because I work at McPherson’s on the weekends, but I have to say it is also a great place to hang out on my days off or after work. Thursdays are ½ price wine night and I come with a friend. We buy the $ 15 bottle of moscato for just $ 7.50. We always split the bill so we enjoy a bottle of wine for just $ 3.75 each. There’s always live music on Thursday nights so we both usually spend under $ 15 on food and alcohol, enjoy each other in a nice environment. For a hole-in-the-wall Cheers-like atmosphere bar, the food is pretty great. The fried pickles are really good and the Craft burgers are just amazing. The bread at McPherson’s is locally baked. Regardless of any workplace politics, the staff always takes excellent care of me when I visit as a customer. It is a mature crowd and there’s always free live music by local artists/musicians. McPherson’s is a hidden gem and a nice little get-away from everyday monotony.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. It took more than 20 min for a burger, kid’s chicken tenders and a chicken Caesar salad. My son’s burger did not come with the correct side and the toppings were not what he requested. Salad was just ok.
