Super clean place inside and out even though it’s in a sketchy area of Greensboro. Super nice people and fast service. Delicious authentic Mexican. I got the 4 taco dish. 2 chourico(which I fell in love with in Cancun) and 2 barbacoa(beef barbecue). I ordered cheese dip and pico de gallo on the side because I like to put both on my tacos. Ordered to go and it came with chips and salsa plus the tacos were garnished on the side with a charred jalapeño, lime slices, some other pepper, a container of diced onions, and sliced radishes(not sure why?) but the best part was a whole little container of fresh chopped cilantro. The flour tortillas are homemade and yummy. They are different from what I’m used to and have a bite to them like al dente pasta but they were really good. Everything was delicious and fresh. Really enjoyable and authentic. Only complaints; the cheese dip was really thin so it’s a mess to try to get to your mouth on a chip. And the barbacoa meat was a bit dry. I’ll definitely eat here again though.

Well, as usual, Michael P. was right, this little place has some pretty good food to offer. We hadn’t eaten here in several years(guess it was the same ownership then), but did remember that the food was pretty darn good then. This is a small place, but clean and well lit, and the service is very good, though language can be a bit of a problem. The menu is very broad, with all the usual items, from nachos, to street style tacos, to stews, to fajitas, to rotisserie chicken, to the always exciting, Molcajetes and Parrilladas — and they even have the normal lunch specials, and the«Speedy Gonzalez» is listed, of course. We chose 4 tacos(Carne Asada, Chorizo, Carnitas, and Fish — about $ 6.75), and the Roaster Chicken Lunch($ 6.59) served with rice, beans, tortillas, and nopales a la mexicana(which I thought was cactus leaves in salad form, but I must be wrong, as there were none), and a Chile Relleno($ 2.95). Everything was very good to excellent, except for the Chile Relleno, which was simply awful — tasted bland and I’m pretty sure it was not made fresh today. The tacos were are nice, with the chorizo and carnitas being particularly nice. I would have liked either of the typical sauces, red or green, but I couldn’t make myself understood — either would have take the already good tacos to another level, and there is no commercial hot sauce on the table. The rotisserie chicken was excellent, well cooked, falling off the bone tender, and nicely spiced — the lunch portion is 3 pieces, though the only piece I recognized was a leg. The rice and beans were nice, and the salad mixture, with a little sour cream and guacamole, was also very good with the chicken. We’ll be back to try more items, and soon.

This place is located in an «L» shaped strip mall type deal where the old Monroes Drive-in once stood. Most of the stores in here cater to the Hispanic community. Beside the restaurant is a Mexican bakery, I believe the two are associated, but have seperate entrances. The restaurant has maybe 4 booths along each side wall & maybe 5 or 6 tables in the middle. You can see everything that’s going on in the kitchen as there is only a counter with plexiglass seperating from the dining area. I was always afraid to go in here because I knew you may have a hard time if you didn’t speak Spanish & my Spanish is not the greatest to say the least. My first visit I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by a nice lady, in Spanish. After a couple of exchanges in Spanish she started saying things that I had no clue what she was saying so I told her that my Espanol was no bueno, she kinda laughed & said«for here or to go?» in English, I was relieved. This is one of those places where the Mexican folks go for real Mexican food. The food I’ve had here has been outstanding, I ordered tacos the first time I was here, as I waited on my order I could see a rotisserie in the kitchen loaded with whole chickens going round & round, the chicken looked & smelled amazing, I knew I would return for that. The tacos are awesome, homemade corn tortillas with your meat choice with fresh cilantro & onion. The carnitas are great, tender chunks of roasted pork then cooked on the grill to give them a nice outside crust, I swear there had to be a ½lb of pork in the 2 carnitas tacos I had the other day, the chicken tacos were great as well. Then of course I had to return a few days later to get in on some of that rotisserie chicken action, and it was ridiculously good, I could have eaten a whole bird it was so good. They offer a rotisserie chicken lunch special, which is what I went with. It has 3 pieces of chicken served with rice, beans & homemade tortillas along with lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole & sour cream, I would go here everyday for this if I could. They have a pretty extensive menu with many authentic Mexican food options, a good number of seafood options, some with octopus. They run daily lunch specials which are written on a small chalk board on the wall on the right as you walk in. Super nice people here cooking up some awesome authentic Mexican food. Deifinitely gonna be regular stop for me when I’m on this side of town.
