Great wine and awesome bartenders!!! The atmosphere is inviting and the bartender always remembers us and has great recommendations! The live music nights are a lot of fun and the bar patrons are always friendly. Can’t say enough about this place except I wish I could get there more often. Cheers.

I promised Allison the bartender(and owner?) that I would update my review(I stingily gave 4 stars and they deserve more!). I was their first Unilocal review way back in the dark ages of 2012. .. It was so long ago, Bianca’s Eatery was still open across the street! But I finally made it back in here for a 2nd visit and had such a nice time. My drinking companion and I learned all about the wine club and they do fun wine tastings on occasion. You can order food from next door at 913 Whiskey if you need a nibble while you sip. So many great spots opening up in this area now — 913 Whiskey, Freeman’s Pub across the street, Blind Tiger for live music and cheap beers a few steps away and tons of funky, fun little shops scattered nearby. Come check out the Spring Garden /Chapman area and check out the Tasting Room while you are here!

Can we just pick this place up and move it to walking distance of my house in Charlotte along with the Whiskey Bar next door? In town for a swim meet means killing time. A couple of the other parents and I met over here while the kids were swimming for a glass of wine. It was a Friday which meant it was Fancy Friday where they take an expensive bottle and sell it by the glass. In this case a Caymus Cabernet at $ 25 a glass. I splurged. I loved it and it was a nice treat though I went backwards for future glasses in price and quality as we sat around the cozy bar and talked. Allison made us feel right at home and we stayed for quite a while. They have a couple of food options but the best one is to call the Whiskey Bar next door and they’ll walk your food over to you. Allison has a menu and the phone number. Service was great as was the food. The chicken and waffles were top notch as was the crab cake and a great value. I’ll review that place next because after the meet we came back and did the reverse. We sat at the Whiskey Bar and got wine from the Tasting Room

On a slow day this is a cool wine shop/wine bar w/a good selection & outdoor patio, the Tacqueria El Azteca food truck across the street, and a professional, knowledgeable staff with an appreciation of wine culture. Often they will amp it up with live music, wine tastings, and/or a food truck onsite.

This has become a regular stop for us and we probably visit once per week on average. PROS: –The Staff: Joey and Allison are fantastic –Wine Club: two levels with the top level being $ 29/month but so worth it –Events: –Wednesday wine tastings(free to members, $ 6 otherwise) -$ 2 of wine by the glass on Tuesdays –Music on the weekends –Events at Medaloni and Westbend Vineyards –Location: near the Coliseum, Blind Tiger and UNCG –Patio(when its not NC Hellacious Hot outside) CONS: –It can get busy(I guess that is a good problem to have!) The Tasting Room isn’t one of those mega-wine places. However, the selection is good with a broad range of prices. Good quality beer is also available. Joey and Allison go out their way to get to know you and make you welcome. Parking in the area can get tight but there is plenty of room in the lot behind the building. If your a wine person or just want a relaxing night sipping with friends and loved ones, I recommend you stop in.
