The Greensboro Ice House

We’ve been bringing my daughter for almost over 3 years. When we started coming here we just enrolled her in the basic program, soon enough we realized that it was something she was good at it and she enjoyed doing.
For the last 2 years she has been taking private lessons with coaches Lance and Nicole, I think she had a couple of other coaches but not for long. Anyways, Nicole and Lance have been on such of great impact to her improvement which is phenomenal, we are very pleased with her performances in competitions and the awesome Christmas shows the ice house organizes every holiday season. Also, we are super happy and proud of her performances at the Fox 8 holiday concerts at the Greensboro Coliseum for the last couple of years, it is a such of great event with the whole Summit Figure Skating Team.
The ice house in general needs some renovations here and there, I’m not going to lie about it, but the people that works there and keep the team going is FANTASTIC!

So, this place is okay. Well, I guess that depends on your definition of okay. The bleachers are falling apart, the bathroom isn’t well kept up, the place needs to be painted badly. However, it does seem like a lot of fun.
I came here with my date and some friends to go ice skating, but only three of us actually wanted to skate. Go figure. So, I paid my entrance fee and skate rental fee and went to go rent skates. I wear a 14EE, so I wasn’t really sure what they would have, but I figured they would have at least one pair of 14s around (the ice rink in Culver City, CA that my friends and I went to in high school had a couple of pairs of 14s for rent). Unfortunately, they only had one pair of 13s that I couldn’t fit into. I mean, I finally got my foot in when I curled up my toes, but my foot didn’t contact the sole of the skate because my feet are wide and flat. Oh well. I’m not going to dock points for this because I realize that I’ve got large feet. It’s just a comment. I was able to get a full refund, no questions asked.
