Can’t believe they closed and turned the place into an Applebee’s !!! What a huge disappointment!!!

I very much enjoy Pepperwood Grille. I have gone for dinner a couple of times and have never been disappointed. if you love a menu where you can have more than one favorite item, this is the place. Not too pricey and definitely a comfortable meal.

It was my first time going today for lunch, the place itself is very nice. We sat outside on the patio. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t so good. I ordered a fiesta rice bowl with chicken. The chicken was RUBBER– you know that fake chicken(whatever it is) so needless to say IF I go back I will not order anything with chicken.

We had my little sister’s wedding rehearsal dinner here on Friday night. For the meal, we had Teriyaki Salmon, Asiago Chicken, roasted potatoes, and a zucchini/squash blend. I didn’t know what to expect from the food or the service, and needless to say, the Pepperwood did not disappoint! No, my palate proved more than pleased at the quality of the fare served to us. The fish was expertly seasoned, leaving nothing to be desired. Ditto with the chicken. Normally, I don’t like potatoes, but these caused a minor situation with a maternal relation who complained that when she roasted potatoes, nobody ever ate them with such enthusiasm. The squash/zucchini blend tasted mild, but needed no additional salting. The same could be said of the entire meal… no salt needed. I’m a huge«salter» and whenever I don’t feel the need to coat my meal in sodium chloride, it’s a good thing! The service was remarkable in that despite it being a busy night, the waiters were friendly, prompt, and discreet. Bravo, Pepperwood! I hope to come back many more times!

Went here with my mom last night while we were in town. Had half off bottles of wine for«wine Wednesday» which was a great deal, wish they had a larger selection of less expensive bottles. Had the firecracker shrimp appetizer that was delicious. We also had a tuna salad that had ahi tuna and arugula that was great and a pizza that was good as well. There were two bartenders working that were helpful when we were deciding what to pick to have and able to answer questions!

Best selection of beers! They have so many different beers here which is awesome for trying something new! Along with their awesome food selection, the staff is pretty nice. When it’s warm enough, sit outside!

First, I have to skip ahead and give major props to our server Thursday afternoon. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was a champion. Three of us– brain-dead medical students in dire need of drinks and food after a four-hour final– arrived and informed them that we’d have a group of five to twelve showing up at times to be determined. She was: completely friendly, had good suggestions, totally accurate, and even split separate checks for us. Awesome. The food wasn’t quite as good as the service, but I’d happily make a return visit. The nachos were a little odd, and the stuff-to-chips ratio was too high, but the chipotle flavor was a nice touch. My cheeseburger wasn’t particularly interesting, but the meat was good quality and they did a good job grilling it to medium. The fries(customized extra crispy for me) were excellent. My friend’s steak looked a little dry, but she seemed to enjoy it. I heard good things about the pizza margherita and the tacos. And they have a decent drink menu– including Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, one of my favorite Colorado beers. I didn’t know what to expect from Pepperwood but I was pleased with what we found. I’ll definitely be back.

We came in to have dinner after a day of Christmas shopping. We are running way behind this year. We had eaten at this restaurant last year. It sits in the parking lot of Westmoreland Mall. The restaurant is dimly lit and cozy. The kitchen is open and behind a wall that’s 2⁄3 wood and the top 1⁄3 is glass so you can see into the kitchen. I ordered a White Alfredo pizza. It had grilled chicken, tomato slices, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. You could choose from wheat or white crust and 4 or 8 slices. I chose a white crust and four slices. The pizzas are cooked in a coal fired oven. It came out perfectly. I liked that you could taste a little of the Alfredo sauce but it didn’t overwhelm the other ingredients. The bacon was crisp, the cheese was gooey and the tomatoes gave it the touch if acid that it needed. My husband had the fish tacos. You could choose fried or blackened. He went with blackened. They gave him 3 tacos. The tacos came in soft corn shells. Besides chicken the tacos had pickled cabbage and a horseradish sauce. The cabbage was crunchy and the horseradish sauce didn’t overwhelm the tacos. The regular menu has soup, salads, pizzas, appetizers and entrees. They offer an extensive wine and beer list. There was also a seasonal menu which was very interesting. It included a sweet potato pizza, a Harvest salad, and a pork shank to name a couple of things. If we lived closer I would definitely dine here at least once a month. I like the inviting atmosphere, the great service, and the seasonal menus. Next time you are in the area you should plan to have a meal here. Enjoy!

I LOVE this restaurant. Myself and my family make a point to go at least monthly. The décor is elegant and modern. The atmosphere is peaceful and laid back yet still child friendly. There artisan cheese plate is AMAZING. I order it every time I go. The filet mignon is excellent, one of the only Resturant that can serve a well done filet and not burn it or dry it out. The service is quick and the staff are all very. knowledgeable and friendly. Tip– If you get the filet you must try the truffled goat cheese with it. It’s absolutely excellent.

AMAZINGFOOD&SERVICE!!! I have no idea what kind of experience other reviewers have had, but in the last FOUR visits(over 6mo) my family and I have experienced service & food which go above and beyond expectations. This evening we celebrated my father’s 60th birthday and were treated to incredibly thoughtful service(frankly the service was amazing even before we mentioned the birthday). Additionally, our server Sarah was delightful and the teriyaki salmon never fails to make me happy. Thanks to all who make the Pepperwood Grille so fantastic!

Came here on a business trip this past week. Wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the food quality and service! I had the teriyaki chicken lettuce wraps and the farmers salad and both were excellent! Also the bread they serve before the meal was very good, served warm with a delicious flavored butter. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back!

Had an early dinner today. Our server, Jackie, was great. However, the food not so much. We had spicy chicken nachos and buffalo chicken pizza. The nachos were very good. The pizza was not good at all. The crust was tasteless and the pizza didn’t have a buffalo chicken flavor. It was greasy and almost slimy. The fried onions on top looked good but had an odd taste(old oil?). I have had better food here. The service has always been good though.

This place is a little more upscale in relation to the other eating places in the area. I had an interview in the Greensburg area and wanted to celebrate afterwards so we went here for dinner. We lucked out because every Wednesday evening, they apparently have half off bottles of wine which was great timing for my mini celebration. The waitress recommended the dragon crusted scallops which sounded fantastic(per menu: spicy lump crab meat | jasmine rice | thai chili sauce) but those were a little pricey so we opted for a cheesesteak pizza(shaved steak | caramelized onions | mushrooms | provolone | cheddar | ranch) and the pork tenderloins(peppercorn crusted | fried onion | roasted garlic mashed potatoes | bourbon glaze | asparagus). Both were amazing and went very well with the Riesling we ordered – by my non-somnelier standards, at least. I actually think that the wait staff can make or break a dining experience and I’ve got to say that the waitress we had the evening we went was also worth mentioning. She was great; since we weren’t familiar with the menu, she walked us through what was good/popular and was very attentive all throughout the evening. It was a great way to end a somewhat stressful day. Oh, lots of parking and lots of seating too. We didn’t have reservations but were able to be accomodated pretty quickly. There’s a bar side and a restaurant side and at about 7:30p that Wednesday, both options had seats available.

You’ve seen this kind of place before, maybe a hundred times, and you’ve been burned. So naturally you figure why get your hopes up. Well, this time be pleasantly surprised. Not only is there a decent menu that is easy to read, laid out logically, and listing a reasonable variety of dishes(not an exhaustive amount, but enough). But the kitchen gets the food prepared right, and the thoughtful staff is working as a team, too. They have developed the right combination here, and apparently they are following through on what we expected back when the fern bar/restaurant twenty-five years ago began flourishing. Food came out at just the right pace. Always hot. Cooked as ordered… No mistakes. Extras brought out when requested. Empty drinks refilled on time… usually without asking. And yet we weren’t rushed, didn’t feel intruded, or pressured. A nice meal and not one complaint. Service was great. Everyone enjoyed everything that was ordered. Was that so hard? I guess so, because it happens only some times at other restaurants; but it happens here. Big snaps to our waiter Bobby; great timing, conscientious and knowledgeable about the menu. I’d recommend this place to anyone with a palate that just wants a trouble free, standard American restaurant experience that will not disappoint.

I usually go here on wine Wednesday with my girl friends. The food and service is pretty good, but it’s extremely over priced I mean the food is good but not that good! There is a host there that is extremely rude and would rather socialize then seat you sometimes you feel like your inconvenient to the staff there. Needless to say we found another girls night location. Wouldn’t recommend!

i enjoyed the pepper wood, and would go back, but probably wouldn’t really recommend it. my boyfriend and i went there for the first time the other day because we were seeing a movie next door. upon arrival, we were seated and let them know that we were waiting for a friend but that she would be late so we’d be ordering before she got there. we were seated and our waitress asked what we’d like to drink. we put in our drink(a beer and water for each of us) order and our appetizer order(we were in a bit of a hurry, but didn’t mention it to her, thinking we’d have enough time if we planned it well.) the appetizer came out before we even got our beers, which i thought was strange, but could have just as easily been the bartender’s fault as the waitress’s. anyway, the app we got was a raw tuna dish(i don’t remember the actual name of it) and it was delicious. i’d probably get the same thing again. came with a tasty arugala salad as well. as the meal went on, i noticed our waitress was rather slow. whether she was new, had a lot of side work, or just not cut out for the job, i’ll never know, because the place was certainly not busy. she was very nice though, so it was hard to dislike her. we finished our app and put in our entrée orders. he got the pulled pork sandwich and i got the lamb burger. the lamb burger was quite good. a bit overcooked(i ordered medium) but other than that, pretty fantastic. it came with caramelized onions, truffled goat cheese(i’m not a fan of truffles, though, so i asked for regular goat cheese) and honey mustard. the fries that came with it were tasty also. the pulled pork, not so good. i didn’t taste it myself, but my boyfriend claims it was too salty and the bun was already kind of soggy when he got it. our third friend arrived about the same time our entrees did and she ordered a wedge salad. while she enjoyed it, it took much longer than i would expect a salad to come out. again, whose fault that is, i’ll never know, and i understand there could be extenuating circumstances, but the timing of the entire meal was just not quite up to par for me.

Definitely a very big upgrade from the last time I was here. Had the Pepperwood signature sandwich and my wife had the haddock sandwich. Both good with my wife claiming she had never had better dried haddock anywhere. Our waiter Eric was friendly and very attentive. Food came quickly as well. Will certainly start eating here more often. Would give 5 stars but I usually want to try more of the fare first. BIG thumbs up to the improvements to the Pepperwood Grille!

This was my first time here. I was pleasantly surprised. The décor was beautiful, and the menu items sounded great. I ordered the Sweet Potato Pie off the lunch menu. It was amazing! The service, however? Meh. I asked her for a recommendation, since I’d never been there before. She seemed surprised by the question. We were a group of 10 women who were catching up. We weren’t ready when she came to take our order, but when we were ready, she was nowhere to be found. When she took the order, she stood at one end of the long rectangular table and had the people at the other end shout their orders to her. Drink refills were awfully slow. When she refilled my iced tea glass incorrectly with water, I reminded her. She swore under her breath, but it was in my ear.
